See - that is why I have to write these wonderful ideas about how to cope with late eating down.... sitting at my desk, with only an apple for company and no chance of getting home before 8pm... I will resist the chocolate machine Blush!

Hi All

Friday and a long weekend.

Tink- hope you are enjoying time with DD2? and the shopping sounds good!

Anyone heard from Cant? I was wondering how her DH was doing? Hope all is ok if you are lurking Cant.

Anyone doing anything interesting over the wet long weekend?

GingerbreadGiraffe · 26/08/2011 14:11

Hello

Can anyone help with my potty traiing thread?

HERE

Diege · 29/08/2011 11:11

Hello! Back from hols - all good but very exhausting!
STAR, hope things have settled down a little with dd - sounds very tough, not helped by medical incompetences!
SES, my first thought re: evening routine, like GING, was miss out some of the baths perhaps? Ds only gets a bath about twice a week and makes do with a quick wash over the basin before bed on other days (even washing his feet under the taps if needed Grin). I think even the psychological effect of not having the bath ahead of you all day may also help. One other tip that we found useful was getting a slow cooker and putting say a few chicken breasts, pots/veg and a sauce in before leaving for work in morning. Does take some organisation though, and can't say it's lasted with us, but may be worth a shot? We all tend to get back about 6.30, give them something quickish for tea (all have had main meal and snack at school /nursery/childmninder) say soup, toast, yog, fruit. Ds up for bed at 7ish, dds 7.30 (they read till 9ish). That's on a good night. I start to get palpitations if they're still running around at 8 . Me and dh then eat, which isn;t ideal, but we do sit at the table with them with a cup of tea when they're eating. Hope you find a solution!
TINKS, great that you got dd diagnosed, that must be a relief.
KAYZ, sorry about bfn - sounds like you're well and truly on the ttc rollarcoaster now though!
GING will try and check out potty training thread, though am pretty useless myself. Dd3 not trained until 3.9 Blush and haven't even thought about poor ds yet!
Have also been thinking about CANT - hope you're ok if lurking x
30 weeks here and feeling that the end is in sight! Very tired, but oddly not anaemic (first time ever at this stage!) - must be the craving I've had for green beans Grin Baby very wriggly now and hoping he's turned from breech. Have bought final 2 pieces of maternity clothing just now (promise!) - Isabella Oliver leggings and grecian top. Should see me throguh until work finished with something semi-smart!
Love to all x

GingerbreadGiraffe · 30/08/2011 10:27

Hi All

Diege- glad you had a good holiday. 30wks! that has happened REALLY fast!!!

Grin at new maternity purchases! and hooray for not being anaemic!!

Thanks all for potty comments. DD is definately getting there slowly. She will probably now decide how/ when it will happen. :)

Best go as busy day today.

xxx

SESthebrave · 01/09/2011 13:03

Hello all! Back from a lovely few days with our friends in York :)

I now have today and tomorrow off work with DS at nursery to catch up on housework, washing, ironing and also Dr Who and XFactor! Only problem is that I can't get my Sky box to work at the moment and have spent most of the morning fiddling around with it to no avail!

tink - glad DD1 had a great birthday. We've managed to get a free family ticket for Paulton's Pk and hoping to use it in October. DS loves Peppa Pig at the moment. He calls them Peppa, George, Daddy oink oink and Mummy oink oink! (oink sounding something like ogh ogh!)

Giraffe - DD sounds like DS in that he's very determined and when he wants to do something he will but not necessarily when it's on my agenda!

Diege - I may give your suggestion of missing baths a go. It just seems a shame for him to have to go to bed so soon after getting home from nursery! No chance of preparing dinner before leaving in the morning as I'm awful in the mornings and would have to get up before 6am to get that done
Can't believe we're getting so close to our next wagon babies!!

Star - sorry that you and DD had such a rough time of it. Hope things are still improving?

Hello to Cant, Kayz, Moosy, Gruff, Rugby and anyone else I've missed!

I've just had a letter today following the karyotype testing that was done after my last mc. It says that the products were of a normal female karyotype. That in itself is good news but it has made me think of the baby I lost again. I was getting by thinking of it as a medical procedure rather than losing a baby but v sad that there was a potential little girl that I carried that is no more :(

OP posts:
Diege · 01/09/2011 13:39

Oh SES that's so sad. I can see how receiving the info' would be distressing in the sense that it makes it all the more real (not that it wasn't real before, but hope you see what I mean). Will this effect any future treatment etc, or wil you just carry on ttc-ing as before? Thinking of you x

SESthebrave · 01/09/2011 13:51

Thanks Diege

It won't affect our ttc plans (in fact I'm hoping for some SWI over the next few days!) but we now have a gynae appointment on 19th Sept and offer of blood tests for me and DH. I guess we keep going and take the appointments and see what happens!

My mum told me after my first 2 mc that she thought maybe I couldn't carry girls so in a way I'm glad that this one was shown to be a "normal" girl as Mum may be wrong.

Nothing to be done but keep trying!

OP posts:
GingerbreadGiraffe · 01/09/2011 14:22

Ahhh some activitiy here Grin

Hi Ses -

I totally understand why that might feel weird knowing it was a girl. I guess not many MC ladies find that out. I certainly makes it more real. Glad to hear you have got an APPT and have some GOF (SWI!) planned.

Your York trip sounds good. Im envious of the PP world ticket, it costs a fortune for a family ticket! I am quite into PP at the moment too Blush

Diege- hello!

I am also hoping for some GOF in next few days but we are all sick in the gingerbread house so not sure it will happen... Frustrating, first real month of going for "it" too!

Maybe I should make a pot of Brew and some brownies to lure everyone in :)

SESthebrave · 01/09/2011 14:52

Hi Giraffe! Sorry to hear you are all unwell :( Have you got some chocolate brownies to hand or shall I rustle some up......

......ta-daa!!!

GingerbreadGiraffe · 02/09/2011 07:43

Yum thanks Ses!!

bumpsnowjustplump · 02/09/2011 12:09

Hello all do you remember me Grin

Been working really hard. Finished my diploma in health and social care which is being Iv'd at the moment. Have been working as well, covering lots of shifts as it is the holiday season. Trying to be a good mum to my two while being tired and stressed you know the usual ..

DP's company has gone into liquidation so he has started up a company with his friend. I am really worried about that as our house is up for loans they have taken out. Although if anyone can make it work through shear hard work it is dp. He is still in talks with lots of finance companies, and suppliers at the moment, They seem to think that his NEW company should be taking on his ex employers debts. Which of cause is not going to happen, but at the same time they need the machines and they need finance on the machines (he is in the print trade) so they are trying to find some middle ground at the moment. In the mean time they are trading and are busy but still not busy enough to pay all existing suppliers as they all seem to want him to pay outstounding debts from a company that has gone into liquidation and who he was just an employee!! I have had to step away as I wasnt sleeping and was stressing about it all... DP is doing really well though, he is working long hours but seems to be striving!

I have just finished a weeks holiday with just the kids as dp wasn't able to take any time off so I have not managed to get any of the baby bits out of the loft so still have nothing ready, I am starting to worry now as we will have to leave it till I am on ML which will give me 4 weeks, and if baby keeps growing the way she is I might not make it that far...

I am also having a few issues at work myself so all in all it has been stressful to say the least. Cant go into many details as I am under investigation but needless to say it is all rubbish and I am being set up royally...

Baby has started measuring too big as well. It has always been a week behind but last thursday it had jumped up to two weeks ahead. Got to go back Thursday and if the same then got to go for a scan!! BP is really high too but thats no wonder really.

DD's school uniform never arrived so I had to do a mad dash into town yesterday. I have got all the bits but couldn't get a book bag anywhere so she has a night garden book back type thing. As you can imagine she is very upset as night garden is for babies and she is going to big school. Just hope the order comes in soon!! Although website now says up to 20 days when it was 15 when i ordered and due for delivery today!! grrrrrrrrrrrrrrr I really wanted her to have the uniform with the school badge on for her first day and am stupidly upset that she will not be in it.. I know she wont be the onl one but am still taking it personally.

But other than that my pg is going well I am 31 weeks now, having a girl and only mild spd which is fab seeing as I was on crutches at this point with ds. The little monkey just needs to slow down on the growth side of things...

Diege · 02/09/2011 13:35

Hi BUMPS! Good to hear from you Smile. Things sound very hectic, but good to hear that you and dp are coping. Starting a new business at the best of times is stressful, but doing so in this climate with a new baby on the way must be tough. Hope you can get things sorted asap at your work too - last thing you need before starting ML. Oh and don't worry too much on the baby growth thing - all of mine have started to move off their dates (from -2 to +6!!!) from 30 weeks onwards. I think some babies do have growth spurts around now and doesn't necessarily mean you have a whopper in there. How big were dd and ds?
SES, hope you're ok. Don't really believe in the 'can't carry boys/girls' thing myself, just horrible, random bad luck Sad.
Thanks for the brownies GING, and hope you feel up to IT soon Wink.Exciting!
All fine here. Dh has taken the dcs out with a friend and his dd, so I had a marvellous day of gym/relaxation/bit of work planned. Decorator has just rung though and informed me he will be here on Monday to decorate the dds' room Hmm so will have to go and try and see if I can get the door open wide enough to do a clear out. Secretly pleased it gets me out of the gym though Grin

cantmummyhaveabreak · 06/09/2011 16:53

afternoon all. so sorry i've not got on in so long. the holidays were so hectic between the kids and DH, trying to keep them all busy and entertained. had our holiday last week- went to disneyland paris- was amazing!! Much needed.

downside? came home and the electric had tripped, freezer had defrosted, upstairs lighting had gone completely as the fuse wire had blown causing the whole electrics to trip, luckily DH could sort it so no need for a massive electrician bill. also had problems with the car before we went away, got it fixed only the day before we made the big drive, on our way down south we had some problems, had to pull into a garage in the middle of nowhere and the mechanic was a fairly old man, he fixed it and wouldn't charge us for it!! car was great all holiday, came to driving home from london after our holiday and the problem started again :( had to pull in at services 200 miles away from home, called the AA out, and it is driveable, but needs sorting asap... took it to the garage we use and we can't get it in till thursday! :( Just our bloody luck!!

Also had the old freezer die on us last month, DH got caught speeding, and problems with his work promising extra company sick pay in the circumstances but then DH's dick of an area manager (the main cause of all DH's work problems) said he can't have it... he managed to appeal higher than his and got given an extra 7 days sick pay so we had nothing to worry about, but it took 3 weeks out of the 6 DH was off to find out this so half his time off he was worried that SSP wouldn't cover our bills let alone feed us etc. He'd started to feel a bit better about 2 weeks ago, his medication is starting to take some effect, but then a few days ago he started getting anxious about returning to work today. He was scheduled to have a return to work meeting with the area manager, the head office guy who was helping deal with everything, and the manager who had helped in the running of his store while he was off. He was worried they'd make him step down, or go part time or something, i kept trying to keep positive and re-assuring him that he can't be made to step down, and because of the nature of his illness they have to be really careful as if they sacked him it'd be a major case in DH's favour. luckily I heard from him earlier this afternoon and all seems to have gone well. Hopefully getting some structure back in the way of work will do him some good, and hopefully he'll stop pulling his hair out (literally) as he has some big bald spots from pulling at it with stress... I just hope he can cope with it all.

As for anything else? not much really going on here... kids went back to school today aswell as DH going back to work... surrobaby is nearly 6mo!! DD2 is talking much more now too- we got a 5 word sentence the other day!! big progress as at her 2.3 review they talked about speech therapy as she wasn't saying much really. So i doubt she'll need it now!! Wuhoo!!

What have i missed then? no honks i hope?

tinkbig · 06/09/2011 21:25

Starshinetiger · 07/09/2011 18:40

Lovely to see some folks on here, even if everything isn't going smoothly for all Sad

Bumps - wow 31 weeks already - sooo exciting. Only feels like a couple of weeks ago that you announced! Well done on your diploma - really good news. Well done to your DP taking over his company too - hope things get sorted soon. I always think that these MW measurements are highly overrated Hmm

Diege - hope you got some relaxation in on Friday while the gang were out. How many weeks are you now?

Giraffe, hope you are all recovered from bugs and some GOFing was managed. All this baby talk is very exciting GrinGrin

Tink - is Betterware worth doing? Glad DD1 is enjoying Year 2 - doing stuff with just the 1 is quite fun isn't it! I think that subsequent DC do get it a bit easier because as parents when we have them just on their own, things seem so much easier Grin

Can't - sorry for bad return from hols. Sounds like the holiday itself was good though. Hopefully everything with car and electrics is sorted out soon.

DS is 5 tomorrow!!! Can't believe it. Finally starts school on Monday (on half-days for a week - they like to drag it out here Hmm). Have the day off tomorrow for his birthday and then next week off work to handle the school thing. He is really looking forward to it, but doesn't want to wear the uniform... I shall just put that down to his individual streak GrinWink
DD finally feeling properly better again. 2nd course of antibiotics done, constipation caused by them gone and she is cheeky and full of it - yay!!!! (Will probably need to remind myself of that when the madamness starts to grate in a few weeks time GrinWink
Have handed my notice in at work - finishing end November (am on 3 months notice). Am part way through job application for 2 day a week job closer to home, but not sure how I feel about that... really looking forward to stopping travelling abroad though and being at home with the DC (glossing over the fact that we're going to be broke....!)

Right, should be working still - just needed a break. Yay, hump day done and dusted, now just the end of the week to get through...

cantmummyhaveabreak · 08/09/2011 09:27

shit, shit, shit, shit, shit..... :( AF is late! I'm on the pill, but was due to come on sunday night/monday morning... no sign of it... normally when AF is due if we have a GOF it'll start, but 2 nights in a row we'v e tried it to make it arrive and nothing!! add to that i'm feeling mega tired out of nowhere the last few weeks and been feeling some slight nausea the last weeks or so, looking mega bloated too- not good signs at all :(

Thing is i dont see how i could be pg as we've not really been GOFing much since I gave birth to the surrobaby, between my recovery and DH being ill we're lucky to be having some once month, plus the fact i'm on the pill... but something just doesn't feel 'right'. planning to do a test either tomorrow or sat as due to go back on the pill after the week off for AF to happen, and dont wanna go back on the pill if i was pg...

all this couldn't have happened at a worse time for us- shit, i'm even thinking about the dreaded T word- not that i could, but honestly- it's the worst timing for a scare let alone a pregnancy- money would be a massive issue- not for raising another baby, but for needing a bigger car, needing a bigger house... i'm really crapping myself!! :( :(

cantmummyhaveabreak · 08/09/2011 09:46

sorry for the me, me, me & bad language... have ranted and am dealing with it now Confused

Star- plans with work sound exciting- having more time with the DC's will be such a bonus after working long hours and being away from home that being skint wont bother you... :)

Tink- agree- weather has been pants- was 29 degree's in france on saturday- came home to 9 degree's on sunday- feels like we never had such good weather on holiday!! tho i do have a holiday tan so hopefully that'll remind me!! :)
