Just quick update from me, scan this morning everything fine with bean. Area of bleed gone so most of been reabsorbed. Dated me at 8+4 so a little ahead of what i thought Due 9th June 2012. Got midwife this afternoon so will be filling in all the official paperwork. MS is still very present along with insomnia now feel like this Confused most of the time.
Hello everyone will come back later to catch up the MS is calling Sad

Rugbylovingmum · 02/11/2011 11:56

Smithy - hurray for a good scan and healthy bean GrinGrinGrin but Sad for ms and insomnia. I hope the midwife can suggest something to help a bit but I'm guessing you've tried most things already. Hopefully you'll be feeling better soon. When did ms etc start to ease with your other DCs?

I have been moaning about how awful I have felt for the last month but now the symptoms are easing I am worrying that something is wrong. I should know better, I did this with DD and all was fine but I'll still be really happy when we get to the first scan. Still 15 days to wait .

Hello! Great news about the scan SMITHY, though I do sympathise about the sickness. Are you actually being sick or is it just the dreaded all day nausea? Could you visit the gp and ask for meds?
OK, birth story alert! As you know, had been having pains on the Thursday and consultant had said I was 2cm dilated (as the mw the next day said though, I could have been 2cm throughout the pregnancy with it not being my first baby). Friday morning I thought the pains were a little sharper, though did doubt myself even as we were arranging childcare. Had a bath, bit of make-up on , then tens machine. Rang hosp who said to come in to be checked, and then realsied in a panic that our car share people had the car...Rang taxi, arrived (11.30am) and was a rubbish 3cm on arrival. I was allowed to stay though in light of it being a VBAC. Had a really lovely midwife who was determined that I would avoid a section. All ok, though got increasingly painful. Had gas and air and TENS machine, and the only tolerable position was standing up by the bed, leaning forwards slightly - birth ball was agony, plus needed continual monitoring. At this point mw suspected I was fully dilated, and at about 3pm she checked and I was almost 10cm. At this point I went into panic mode as the pain was greater than any labour pain I'd had before (and I've had a lot). Turned out baby was op presentation (back-to-back) slightly oblique, and that the 'extra' pain was the back of his skull on my spine. Begged for epidural (no-one was happy as I was pretty much fully dilated, but I did insist and they gave in...). From that point, consultant came in and was happy to leave me another hr longer pushing as all was well. Went on syntocin (?) drip (bit naughty with vbac) to speed things up, and by the time consultant returned the head was very low and mw could see top of head with each contraction. Problem was it was going back up in between and twisting back oblique. It was then decided to take me to theatre for a forceps delivery, but to give me a spinal block on top of the epidural as they would only permit 3 contractions/pushes then would go to section. Head well down by now, just the position giving problems. First push baby had turned the right way, but then went back up again and turned back. Second time she turned by hand and held on to head with forceps, next push head was out, facing up ('stargazer position'), next push body out and baby Samuel born! Very noisy screaming from baby, massive relief from me and dh at avoiding a section. Consultant reassured that all had gone well and that it was his position that had required forceps, nothing else. Taken to recovery, then up to ward 2 hrs later (no beds..). All fine but a very bruised bladder from the forceps which meant that I retained urine and couldnlt feel the urge to wee. Had catheter in place for 24 hrs and thankfully all well. Now on strong pain killers for bladder and also steroids for piles which were pretty impressive by mw's account...Apart from that and bf being a non-event (milk only came in today on day 5 by which time ds has no interest) I am pretty pleased with how it all went. On paper it looks a bit ouch, but I got my VBAC, ds2 is a little cutey, and I feel very happy that my family is complete!
BUMPS, any news? Hope you're ok - remember, I had poly with ds1 and all well. In fact my consultant had never actually met anyone whose excess fluid meant anything sinister at all xxx

fireworkhellokitty · 02/11/2011 17:24

hi diege - you did so well

i cant see pics on fb not sure if i have lost you as a friend!!

have bought dds2s bday pressies and most of girls xmas pressies Grin

Diege · 02/11/2011 17:44

hi tinks! piccies on mn profile, rarely on fb Grin

SESthebrave · 02/11/2011 18:18

Wow Diege! Well done you on your VBAC :)
Thank you for sharing the birth story - sounds like your MW was wonderfully supportive. Hope the bladder bruising goes quickly.
I really would like to have a VBAC this time and your story has helped me think it is possible.

Had a lovely day with O here but have had to blatantly lie to my mum a couple of times when she's been fussing Hmm We went over there this afternoon and I lost track of the number of times she asked me "has everything gone ok this time?", "You've not had any problems earlier in the year have you?" and even "You're not keeping anything from me are you?"
I just replied "No" to her each time. I am usually a hopeless liar but I've learnt over the years that sometimes I have to with mum!
She wouldn't even have any suspicions, she would just be offended if I'd not told her everything. Although I love her very much, we just don't have that sort of relationship.

DH is away tonight so I'm hoping O settles nicely and I might even have an early night myself :)

Wow Diege! You were amazing!! That stargazer position is quite rare isn't it? Sounds like DS2 found it too nice and comfy inside and was really hanging on :) how are your girls and DS1 enjoying him?

what a lovely family you have with 3 girls and 2 boys. Congratulations!

Smithy. Yay for the good scan! Sorry for sickness and nausea.
Rugby- glad ms is bit better
Ses - sorry for the food poisoning. Hope you complain to the cafe ?!

Hi TInk

GingerbreadLatte · 02/11/2011 19:03

X post Ses ! Enjoy your evening :)

fireworkhellokitty · 02/11/2011 20:56

hi diege what a handsome chap Grin

fireworkhellokitty · 03/11/2011 09:54

received lalaloopsy bits omg so cute Grin

smithylovesme · 03/11/2011 10:02

Thanks for sharing your birth story Diege. I agree on paper it does look a bit ouch but sounds like you got what you wanted and are very happy, and i also agree that DS2 is a cutey :o Any ideas on middle name yet Apollo or bear go good with Samuel :o

SES hope you enjoyed your evening, i hope you did complain about the food poisoning.

Tink- good going on the shopping, does it feel good to be nearly done. I keep saying i am done for the children but then see something else, i have stuff all over the bedroom hidden away can't wait to get it all out and have a proper look :)

Diege- it is all day nausea with 2-4 episodes of throwing up to add to it. I have the very helpful midwife i had last time Confused When i told her i was suffering with MS she said well your body sems to be coping no ketones in urine so just try and drink don't worry about food your body has enough fat stores to cope!
Got some new travel bands yesterday put them on before i got up and i do feel a little better today, still feeling nauseous but not continually mouth watering like i was, don't want to jinx it though. Plus it seems to get worse when travelling in the car, i have to do 2-3 school runs a day in the car as its 2 miles away and that is when i suffer most when i get back from there.

Whats everyone upto today?
I am posting a ebay item i sold and might attempt a visit to sainsburys as running low on a few things depends how i feel :)

Rugbylovingmum · 03/11/2011 10:22

Smithy - so sorry you are still suffering with ms. Is it maybe worth seeing your gp and pointing out how often you are being sick and that you have to be able to look after DCs. He may be more sympathetic.

Diege - thanks for posting your birth story and it's great you got your vbac. I def agree that DS2 is a little cutey Grin. How are you feeling today?

Tink - glad you are happy with the bits you ordered.

Ses - how was your quiet evening to yourself, I hope O settled well but they seem to have a sixth sense about these things!

Diege · 03/11/2011 11:49

SMITHY I would definitely bypass the mw and see the GP (what a nutter yours sounds). It really does depend if you get a sympathetic one (GP) - you can always ask for a second opinion too. I think I did play up my sickness a little - said I was bringing up blood (ironically, this started the day after anyway, as with the other pregnancies). It's really hard going with other LOs to look after too - perhaps go in there asking for a specific drug (like cyclizine) and at least then they will know you have done your research?
And you can all stop it with the middle name banter Grin. It is Louis do you hear me Grin. Having said that, 'Bear' does have a certain ring, though I'll leave it for Jamie Oliver's ds...
RUGBY, meant to say keeping mobile with continual monitoring isn't too difficult as long as you keep off the bed (could get tangled in wires). I had lots of room to walk, albeit in a semi-circle, and sit on birth ball. A bit like a chained animal actually! Feeling ok today, though in lots of pain when I wake up each morning, so bad I could be sick with it. Co-codamol is helping though and it eases gradually throughout the day. Samuel is pretty good at night, waking last night at 2.30am for a feed then I woke him for one at 6.30am. My good Gina Ford baby Wink
TINKS, getting anxious about xmas now after reading about your shopping!!! Have to get through dd2 and dd3's birthdays first though.
Off to town soon to get some bits - hope my bladder holds out! (literally!) xxx

Diege · 03/11/2011 11:55

Oh meant to add many thanks GING and SES for your congrats Smile. Yes, stargazer pos quite unusual - they did try to rotate fully so he would be born facing down but the priority was to shift from diagonal and were happy in the end for him to be a 'gazer' as they put it. Quite disconcerting to hear 'aww, what a sweet face' when you're wating for the next contraction to push the body out Grin
SES, I'd forgotten about your mum Wink. Mine (in fact none of my relatives) hasn't been to see ds2 yet...lots of discussion between my parents and dh about when it's convenient for them (being there to let the dog out /get back for the dog etc etc Hmm) PLus they want to fit it in on same day as dd2's birthday to save 'doubling up' on trips HmmIf I think about it too much I start to get upset - their loss!

Rugbylovingmum · 03/11/2011 13:51

Diege - lol at the 'chained animal' image but it's good to hear that you were able to keep mobile. Hope you have a good (and dry Wink) trip into town. Try not to let your parents attitude get to you. My mum admitted to me that she wasn't very excited about seeing DB's DD2 when she was first born and only went to keep DB&SIL happy. She loves her just as much but she doesn't feel as though she gets to get to know the baby as much on these first visits IYKWIM, so it's just a 'viewing'. She loves going when the baby is a bit older and you get a better sense of their personality. Hopefully your parents will be better when he is a bit older and luckily he is too young to know just now. Did that make any sense or am I just rambling???

Kayzr · 03/11/2011 13:57

Diege, congrats again. It's a great birth story.

Sorry I'm not posting much. I'm getting about 2-4 hours sleep a night and I'm absolutely exhausted. Sad

smithylovesme · 04/11/2011 10:51

Typed out a whole message and it dissapeared Hmm
Tink- sorry your feeling anxious, hope you can get some me time and relax a little, some shopping maybe :o
Are you spending xmas with DH's family?
I agree xmas s stressful but you seem pretty organised, great pressies by the way sounds like your girls are going to have a great time :)

Kayz- how you feeling? Hope you are managing a little more sleep or at least rest, what is keeping you awake? When is DP back from work?

Diege- hows life as a family of 7 :o Have your parents decided when to visit yet? what were they like after the others were born (visiting asap) I think the novelty well for my family wore off after baby number 1, dreading telling them about baby number 4!

How is everyone else this morning? Cold here, if i am honest wish i was still in bed :)

Was going to call docs this morning for emergency appt but totally forot in the choas of getting everyone up and ready to leave the house, then got home and rememebered they are only open til 12 today so probably won't get an appointment today anyway. Keeping telling myself that i won't be feeling like this much longer a few more weeks hopefully :)
Comes in waves and sometimes i feel better start doing things and go over board and then have to spend the rest of the day on the sofa!
I am in awe of the working mums, i honestly don't know how you do it, i am exhausted after 2 school runs, takes all my energy to come home wash up put a wash on and think about dinner. Can't wait to get to 2nd trimester :)

fireworkhellokitty · 04/11/2011 11:09

hi smithy Grin

thankyou yes dhs family

hope the weeks go quick for you

Kayzr · 04/11/2011 12:32

Smithy, no idea what's keeping me awake. I fall asleep fine when I go to bed but I usually wake about midnight and then just doze getting an hour or 2 until I have to get up with the boys. Sad

DP isn't back for another 2 and a half weeks.

GingerbreadLatte · 04/11/2011 19:27

Evening all

Diege- that bruised bladder makes me wince everytime I think of it. Hope it eases off soon. :)

Smithy- sorry sickness is so rough. Sounds like its pretty severe for you. Personally, I think being at home with DCs is worse than being at work if you are feeling poorly. Least at work I can hide and my desk and MN pretend to work. Hang in there, hope it improves soon x

Kayz- sorry about your insomnia too. Really isnt good. You must feel awful. Have you tried any soothing music, or natal hypnotherapy stuff to listen to in night? I did the natal thing and used to fall asleep everytime, once I was used to it. Might be useful for birth too!

Tink- sorry you are feeling anxious re xmas. I remember your story of Xmas 09 (I admit to being fairly emetaphobic Blush so remember it well!) and it sounded rough. I do think you'd be very unlucky for it to happen again though. Do you get on well with the inlaws?

Gruff- if you are lurking I hope you are ok.xxx

Ses- how are you? how is your MS/nausea? You must be nearly 11 wks?

Star- hello, did you choose a buggy in the end?

Rugby- how are you going?

All good here, now on 2ww (just), cycle#3. Had a good stab (no pun intended!) at it this time so we will see... Im not optimistic but I also feel more relaxed than last couple of times.

Really loud fireworks here and the cat went outside. Really worried about her. She didnt even come abck when i shook the tin of cat biscuits Hmm

hope everyone else is ok xx xx

GingerbreadLatte · 04/11/2011 19:27

ooh mega post, sorry!

SESthebrave · 04/11/2011 20:44

Hello all!

Ginger - yes, will be 11 weeks on Sunday! I have to say this evening I look more like about 20 weeks Blush I've started getting a few looks and comments about wouldn't it be nice for O to have a sibling, from people at work who are suspicious but I'm not going to say anything until I know all is well at the 12 week scan. Finally plucked up the courage to apply for 12 week scan earlier in the week and have a date through for Mon 14th.
Good luck with 2ww. Relaxed sounds good but I know it doesn't always stay that way on 2ww!

Tink - sorry you've been feeling anxious. I agree with Smithy that you've done well to have so much sorted already. Is part of it that you find it hard to relax when staying at the ILs? I'm sure it can only be easier than 2 yrs ago.

Kayz - sorry for the insomnia. I suffered a bit when pg with DS and found the easiest thing was to give in and read or watch tv for an hour and then go back to sleep.

Diege - hope all is going well with Samuel Louis Apollo Bear Grin
Oh and mothers eh?! If I ever show signs of ending up like mine, then please shoot me! Her latest question was "Is this pregnancy planned?" It was so tempting to snap and say "yes - very much. We'd been trying for over a year!" but she really wasn't to know. She just seems to purposely make comments that seem innocent but really rile me!

Smithy - I agree with Ginger that sometimes it can be easier at work. The most difficult thing I'm finding is the tiredness now the nausea is easing and I guess all the driving I do for work doesn't help with that.

Hello everyone else - hope you're all ok and got some good weekend plans :)
