Hi G&T! Wow this latest pregnancy has gone quickly (for us!) Have you a predicted size/gender for this one? Exciting!
Thanks RUGBY, KAYZ Smile. With dd1 and dd3 this was picked up earlier at 20 weeks scan, but wasn't quite as serious as their kidney reflux didn't involves the ureters. Anyway, dd1 was the most serious of the 2 - she was scanned at about 10 weeks and kidneys (both) still enlarged (the whole things disappears after birth in about 50% of cases). Referred to Alder Hey who were brilliant, for a kidney x-ray and bladder x-ray, and no real cause was found (usually a blockage or 'kink' in the ureter accounts for 99% cases). At 5 mths she had scan and the situation had resolved. With dd3, the reflux was resolving at first scan so no follow up. Worst case scenario is that dc will need an op at some point, and will probably be on anti Bs from birth to prevent urine infection which, with this condition, can lead to kidney scarring/damage. So not massively serious, and better I suppose to know about it now than not to at all (which would have been the case if I hadn't been scanned today!!)

Diege · 13/10/2011 17:05

Oh KAYZ on ms note, mine was classed as hyperemesis as was being sick around 20 times a day and damaged stomach lining. Was signed off work with dd3 for 8 weeks, then put on to meds. With dd1 hospital with drip, resolved at about 14 wks, with this one, meds from 4.5 weeks as no way was I suffering again! See how you go on. Meds will take the edge off nausea but are really only prescribed if actually being sick constantly (you could fib Blush) ON a more practicaly note, sips of fizzy water helped, as did lots of rest, watered down chicken soup, chewing gum, but tbh nothing other than the meds really did it for me. You could try acupressure bands (travel sickness), B6 capsules, ginger???

Kayzr · 13/10/2011 17:09

Thanks Diege. I've been drinking Ginger beer although I dont like it as it's the only thing except food that seems to take the edge of it.

hellokittyruleswastink · 13/10/2011 17:35

lots of chat Wink

diege - scan sounded mostly positive not long now!!
lgt great to hear from

hi to other ladies

largeginandtonic · 14/10/2011 08:51

Am feeling round. Very round. It is a boy, if he goes late like the others he will be 10lb ish i guess. I am having a growth scan etc...at 37 weeks. They wont let me go after term as the last one was a tight fit, arf. GTT this morning but it will show nowt.

Kayz the MS is so awful. Lot's of freshair used to help mine, hovering by the backdoor at tea time was a fave place of mine as it peeked at tea time! Brilliant when you have a million plates to fill! I used to nibble carbs all day to keep it at bay. TBH it has been different with each one in terms of what made it feel better. Always the same constant nausea and occasional vom. Joy.

Poor you.

See ya later and wish me luck! I just want a cup of bloody TEA. Gah.

bumpsnowjustplump · 14/10/2011 11:27

Morning all, 37 weeks today whoo hoo only 3 weeks to go!!!

Congratulations g&t I also brew massive babies so this one is no different. I have nightmares about going over as mine were both early and still weighed 8.4 and 8.12!!!

I had midwife yesterday and had a really good chat with her about all my fears. She confirmed that they wouldn't induce me on my due date as my measurements were only 1cm bigger than the weeks. She did however note that I am big and that I do produce big babies so she is going to give me a sweep at 39 weeks and 39 +2 weeks if I havent gone into labour by then. phew..... She then examined me and baby is still totally back to back, and she was not 100% sure which way around the baby was. She thinks it is head down but the dopler picked up louder heartbeat at the top of bump and there is a large hard section at the top that could also be the head. So she is sending me for a scan on Tuesday. I am so pleased because if this scan shows baby is huge as I expect then they may after all induce me early yay.... But bad news is if it is breach the baby is still very very high so they will try to turn it and I have heard that that is agony ouch......

Also had the flu jab which I have never had before, so now predictibly I feel like poo.

Hope everyone is well, I need some energy people as I need to get this mess of a house sorted out so any spare energy vibes out there can I have them please Wink

smithylovesme · 14/10/2011 12:40

Hi Bumps wow your 37 weeks that has certainly gone fast (for me anyway). How you feeling now with the thrush and swelling hope its all settling down for you. Glad they are keeping an eye on you :) Sending you a bunch of energy vibes, not sure how good they will be as feeling pretty lethargic myself but worth a try [hgrin].

LG&T Good to see you, hope the GTT goes ok for you. Another boy, any names decided yet? Always thought you have great tatse in names :o

kayz hows the morning sickness now? Might be a girl as they say you are more sick with a girl :o Have you told anyone else yet?

diege Glad they caught the kidney stuff on scan, hope its nothing to serious but you seem to be all clued up on it.

ginger sounds like you are having a real rough time, hope you are feeling better today.

Hi everyone else, hope you are all well :o

Well i went to see the doctor today, got a little tearful as explaining why i am there, said i was really stressed and couldn't sleep with worry about the previous MMC and wanted to see if i could get an early scan. See was very sympathic and said she would call the EPU and see what they said, but really depended who was on and what mood they were in. As they is no medical need they may not see me but she would try and then call me back later. Also telling me i could get a private scan and telling me of all the places available. Told me to book in with midwife anyway and congratulations.
I came out feeling pretty :( but looked into private scans when i got home knowing already that the NHS weren't going to see me.
She just called about 20 mins ago saying i have an appointment Monday at 1.20pm i am so :o i could kiss her. DH probably won't beable to come as he is at work but i will be ok.
And i cursed myself started with MS full throttle yesterday, boobs still not sore though so who knows.

hellokittyruleswastink · 14/10/2011 13:04

wow bumps!! not long now good luck with scan

hi lgandt

smithy - great news re scan Grin

delievered betteware books this morning and have put sylvanian bits on ebay

Kayzr · 14/10/2011 13:52

Smithy great news about the scan. Not told anyone apart from parents and siblings. Would you like my sore boobs? MS not as bad today but my boobs are awful.

Have I missed Ses saying she's going on holiday? If not if you're lurking I hope you're ok xx

SESthebrave · 15/10/2011 21:15

Hello! Sorry for going AWOL. All ok but just been struggling to cope with early pg tiredness, constant nausea and work.

In the middle of all of that, had a great day out at Chessington World of Adventures on Wednesday with O and another 5 mums and LOs. O was fearless and kept asking for more rides. I on the other hand wasn't up to much with feeling so nauseous whilst trying to hide it from my friends!

Anyway, I've found the best cure for constant nausea is constant eating Hmm Not so useful for being able to fit into my clothes and hide the fact I'm pg!

Anyway, enough about me!

Kayz - CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!! Grin Grin Grin
Also congrats to your SIL-to-be :)
As for your MIL-to-be, just ignore her. I'm dreading telling my mum as I think the first thing she'll think is that she won't be able to cope if I ever need her to look after two grandchildren. I think she's guessed anyway as she kept commenting on how tired I look Hmm

Diege - I guess you're 37 weeks and full term now! FX for you that the kidney issues from the scan resolve themselves in as straightforward a way as poss.

Smithy - sorry for your worries but great news that you'll get a scan on Monday. I've got everything crossed for you that you get the reassurance you want and deserve.

Bumps - hope the thrush is clearing up. Glad you got support from your MW and fx baby moves and gives you an easy birth!

LG&T - hello!!! Great to hear from you and look forward to hearing your announcement (and name choice!)

Rugby - hope the MS is easing for you. Do you have a scan date?

Giraffe - hope you are finally getting back to full health and sorry to hear you had a funeral to go to. Take care x

tink - sounds like the betterware is going well :)

Hello also to any lurkers - Gruff, Sorky, Moosy and anyone else :)

SESthebrave · 15/10/2011 22:06

SES a good evening

Kayzr · 16/10/2011 11:19

Morning.

Ses I'm glad all is ok. Except MS. I've got it and it's awful. Never had it before and I'm finding that snack a jacks and lucozade are the only things that keep it at bay.

DP is back to work tomorrow. Which means I can't stay in bed when I feel awful, back to walking to school every day. Bleughh

GingerbreadLatte · 16/10/2011 12:21

Hi everyone.

Ses- great to hear you are doing ok. Chessington sounds good :) and your evening sounds like my kind of evening :)

Morning Smile Hope you're ok Kayz - ms very tough when you're on your own with childcare etc. How long is dp away for?
GING great that you're feeling a little better but sorry af seems to be starting. Fingers crossed for a better month health-wise (and gof-wise!). Think you're out of the sweep-stake, though there's time yet I suppose! Wink
SES good to hear from you - sounds like you've been super busy (as usual!). Do you think any of your friends has twigged yet?
Hi TINKS - did you decide on which pressie in the end?
Am I making it up, or is SMITHY having an early scan today? Confused
37 + 3 today, feeling like the end is very near. Had quite a long walk yesterday and hips and back very sore - think head is moving even further down though, so that's good! Have the most appalling thrush though that pessaries aren't shifting. Would welcome labour at the moment - what a great scratch that would be Grin
BTW, has anyone heard from CANT recently?

smithylovesme · 17/10/2011 10:11

Quick one from me, to say hi taking DS to a storytime at the library. Scan this afternoon so will report back once i'm home around 2pm probably.
