Just that there is nothing I can do or take for it. I've been taking folic acid but he still gave me it. Oh well I won't complain

hellokittyruleswastink · 11/10/2011 19:15

Kayzr · 11/10/2011 20:24

DP just told his mum and she asked if we planned it before even saying congratulations. It's a bit annoying really.

hellokittyruleswastink · 12/10/2011 09:01

kay - what a pain!!

have a poorly bracken here!! has been sick

GingerbreadLatte · 12/10/2011 09:42

Morning all

Thats not so great Kayz- is she usually supportive? Sometimes I think people speak before engaging their brains!

Tink- poor Bracken, hope she is better soon

Ses- how was your NCT evening?

Hi everyone else

Im still not better. Am on day 8 of gastroenteritis or something. Still getting agonising cramps in stomacch over night. Really thought I was better last night then was up half the night. Feel so sick and bleugh again today. Am feeling rather fed up with it TBH!

Kayzr · 12/10/2011 09:44

Morning,

I feel sick, really really awful. I am only 4 weeks so I don't know if it can be morning sickness yet.

Tink, poor Bracken Sad

Diege · 12/10/2011 09:52

Morning! KAYZ, morning sickness struck for me at around the 4 week mark so undirtuantely this may well be what it is Sad A good sign of course, but a mixed blesing for the poor sufferer! Make sure you drink as much water as you can and don't let yourself get hungry at any cost.
GING, poor you Sad I do know from experience that gastro-type bugs really linger and you need to take it easy for several days after you think you're over it. Back to bed (if you're able) with lots of fluids and some easily digestable choc if you can manage xxx
TINKS, poor Brackon (and you!). Horrible when they are sick Sad
Feels like first day of proper ML here with no pesky e-mails to check etc. Have nails/brows this morning, then will hopefully be able to get the baby stuff washed - whether it will dry is another matter. Day 4 of constant rain here!

Rugbylovingmum · 12/10/2011 09:56

Hello ladies,

I need some help from all you shopping experts please. We are going to my parents this weekend and DP has suggested I go shopping on the Sunday as I am desperately in need of some new clothes - all my clothes are ancient and apart from a couple of skirts, tops and cardis I bought this year they all belong in the bin. I wouldn't usually buy any maternity clothes before my scan but we are going to be so busy after it I know I won't have time so I'm going for a mix of maternity bits and some loose tops that'll last the first few weeks.

So ladies I have £500ish to spend - what do I need to see me through the winter - obv I can add some bits later but want to try to get a basic wardrobe together and I don't want to slip into wearing jeans and a fleece once I'm not working.

Before my bfp my plan was:
knee boots
thick tights/legging
dress or 2
couple of demin or cord skirts
few plain tops to go over skirt or jeans
warm cardi
jeans

Are maternity skirts any good? I've seen a couple of nice denim/cord knee length skirts but not sure if they look awful with a bump. I am a size 18 Sad and need well fitting clothes or I look like a bag lady Grin. Any recommendations for where to get nice maternity jeans - Diege you must know the best jean shops Wink.

Kayzr · 12/10/2011 09:58

I've just sent DP for ginger biscuits.

Ginger, that sounds horrible, have you seen a doctor?

Does anyone know if my NHS number is the same as the one on my birth certificate? Apparently I need to take it to my booking in appointment with MW.

Kayzr · 12/10/2011 09:59

Rugby, with both boys I have had some gorgeous skirts from Jojo Maman Bebe. Usually they have offers like save £5 if you buy 2.

hellokittyruleswastink · 12/10/2011 10:00

ging - poor you!!

we have all been sick here over last week horrid!!

when i was pregnant with dd2 wore leggings, long dresses, long tops

Rugbylovingmum · 12/10/2011 10:01

Sorry - how rude, I didn't even say good morning.

Kayz - poor you, I really sympathise with the ms suffering. It's a good sign though Smile.

Ging - poor you, it's awful when these things linger. Can you have a day in bed?

Diege - hurray for ML, enjoy your day to yourself and relax.

Tink - sorry B is unwell, hope she is better soon. You are so organised with your shopping, you put me to shame. It is DDs birthday on Friday and I still haven't picked up a card or wrapping paper Blush.

hellokittyruleswastink · 12/10/2011 10:03

ginger - i had 3 pairs of leggings
2 cardis
2 long sleeved dresses

Kayzr · 12/10/2011 10:05

Oh Tink, I don't know. They both look really really good. If pushed I would go for the hospital.

hellokittyruleswastink · 12/10/2011 10:09

thanks kay Grin

Rugbylovingmum · 12/10/2011 10:17

The both look good Tink - I would probably go for the treehouse as it is a bit cheaper and looks sturdier but your DD2 is a bit older than my DD so maybe that's not such a bit concern.

Rugbylovingmum · 12/10/2011 10:17

big concern

bumpsnowjustplump · 12/10/2011 11:02

Hello all, sorry I have been awol. I have been in a lot of pain but feel better today. Had to go to hospital for tests on Saturday, they took swabs to check for infection but I cant blooming get the results no one seems to know where they are arghhhhhhhhhhh.

I am nesting big time as I need this house tidy so we can get baby bits sorted.. But if she comes early at least she has a bed now thank you moosy.

Sorry for me me post but how worrying is really swollen feet and ankles and pins and needles in legs and fingers?

Smithy my stats are:
dd 39weeks 8lb 4
ds 39+2 8lb 12 oz
I am also due on 4th november

oh and I am massive so no chance of a little one..

Congrats kays really pleased for you. So who is up the duff now? or should that be who isn't lol Wink

smithylovesme · 12/10/2011 11:24

Bumps, sounds awful, but glad your feeling better do they think its a UTI? Pins and needles doesn't sound any fun at all. Hope you are getting lots of rest and pampering.
Tink Like the new name, hope DD2 feeling better soon poor thing. I like the Hospital, has she already got any of the happyland stuff? if so the treehouse might be a nice addition?
Kayz Good news about the Digi, makes it so much clearer. Sorry MIL wasn't more supportive, do you get along? Has she any other grandchildren? Hope the morning sickness subsides for you, travel bands helped me and sprite! Not sure about the NHS number sorry, the doc surgery should beable to give it to you, mine is on the card that came through the post when i registered with the new doctors?
Ginger sounds awful, have you seen the doctor?
Rugby your shopping trip sounds like fun, can i come too :) What you listed before the BFP sounds good, could you not just adjust it to maternity clothes instead?
Diege So glad you can now enjoy your maternity leave, nails and brows sounds like a great way to start it off, do you get brows waxed/threaded? I just started threading a few months back. Hope you get a break in rain to get clothes dry. Any closer on making a decision on the name front am still Grin at reginald, reggie is quite cute Grin

Right now i have all relevant information i can add my guess to sweepstake for bumps need to go find the list :)

Nothing much happening here, waiting for docs appointment Friday, think i may not be a successful pregnancy as boobs not as sore and no nausea which is very unusual for me. But my body has problems letting go of things so won't happen naturally. Really hoping they will scan me asap so i can just know one way or another. Not sure if they will so should i tell a little fib and say i am unsure of my dates see if that works too. I will be devastated if they tell me to wait until 12 week scan, not sleeping at night with the worry of it :(

hellokittyruleswastink · 12/10/2011 11:29

hi smithy not really only farm from happyland

bumps - poor you

Rugbylovingmum · 12/10/2011 11:39

Hi Smithy - I hope you manage to get your early scan but I know quite a few people who had had very few symptoms on their 2nd or 3rd pregnancy and everything has been fine so here's hoping. It's a strange thing to wish for but I'll keep my fingers crossed you start to feel sick soon Wink. As for shopping, I could just send you the cash and you can go for me if you like - I HATE shopping! I'm hoping I can just adjust my pre-bfp list to maternity clothes and I'll find some bits I like on Sunday.

Bumps - poor you Sad, sounds like you are having a crappy time. How can the bloody docs lose your results! I don't know how worrying the swollen feet and p+n are but think I would let the docs know anyway - it's worth getting checked over if you are worried.

bumpsnowjustplump · 12/10/2011 11:44

Thanks for reply's I am going to wring the hospital midwife team I think. Going to ask them what I do about swab and just mention the other bits..

Diege · 12/10/2011 12:55

BUMPS, good to ring mws and get some answers I'd say. I'd also follow up the swab results, bleedin' NHS! I have also had pins and needles in hands and feet this time and mw said usual due to changes to blood circulation in late preg, but best to get checked out.
SMITHY I really hope you can get some reassurrance soon. I have had lack of symptoms with 2 pregnancies, one successful (dd2), one sadly not. Is there any chance of paying for a private scan to put your mind at rest? Still very early days, and you may find that you look back at this time and wonder why you were complaining of no sickness!
TINK, just a thought but would it be worth waiting til the Jan sales to buy dd2's present? Just thinking you may get a real bargain then?(no chance I know Wink)
Nails and brows now done Very pleased with shellac nails and just hope they last until the birth Re: brows I have waxing SMITHY. Did try threading a few months ago, but the woman was a bit thread happy and they've only just grown back!
Hi RUGBY, I wish I was closer to you and I would def take control over the shopping. There are some great online mat clothes sites though that may take the stress out of shopping?
Off to mw this afternoon for 36 wk check. It's the horrible doomonger one, so no doubt I will come out with at least one problem to obsess/google over...

Rugbylovingmum · 12/10/2011 13:12

Hi Diege - nothing worse than a gloomy midwife - just ignore everything she says! I loved the midwife I had last time but she went on hols just when I needed to be induced and I finished up with a wet dishrag of a woman who couldn't give me a straight answer about anything. It was all "well our policy is to blah blah blah". Unfortunately she now seems to do all the booking in appts at our surgery so I'll be stuck with her again on Tuesday . I'd love you to do my shopping for me - if you weren't due any min I'd pop over for the day. It would be great to do all my shopping online but I have no idea what suits me so I think I am going to have to spend at least 1 day visiting shops and trying stuff on.
