not heard of shellac- is that like gels type thing or a brand of polish?

My phone app says I am not due AF until a week thursday, but I think tuesday is more accurate so if AF is showing any signs, I will probably go for tuesday.

However, only one go at it at this month, possibly a bit late so im not hopeful :) Annoying as I really fancied a June baby Blush

Congratulations Kayz GrinGrinGrinGrinGrinGrin. Now please try to relax! I'm glad poor DS2 is feeling better - earache is truly miserable!

Ginger - how far into the 2ww are you?

Diege - hurray for almost being full term and LOL at you making sure your hair and nails are ready for labour Grin. I'd better get on with putting in my sweepstake guesses.

Diege's DC5
Giraffe- 17th October, 8lbs 12oz
Ses - 23rd October, 8lbs 10oz
Kayz - 27th October, 8lbs 5oz
Rugby - 30th October, 8lbs 11oz
Diege - 1st November 8lb 3oz
Smithy- 4th November 9lb 5oz

Bumps' DC3
Ses - 26th October, 9lbs 1 oz
Giraffe - 31st October. 9lbs 9 oz
Kayz - 2nd November 8lbs 9oz
Diege - 3rd November 9lbs 4oz
Rugby - 5th November, 9lb 2oz

Hi Ses, Bumps, Tink, Smithy and any other lurkers - hope you are all well.

I am feeling awful again this morning Sad. I am totally unimpressed with this MS, it is so much worse than with DD and I just hope it stops around 10 weeks like it did last time. I think I am about 8 weeks today so not too much longer to go . Other than that things are good. It is DDs 2nd birthday on Friday Shock so we are going up to my parents for the weekend so her grandparents can spoil her Grin. The following weekend we are having a joint party for all the NCT babies which should be manic but fun.

Rugbylovingmum · 11/10/2011 09:29

x-posted - Ginger will keep my fingers crossed for a June baby!

GingerbreadLatte · 11/10/2011 09:43

boo to MS rugby :( are you just nauseaous or acutally being sick?

Forgot to ask how the job stuff is going now, are they accepting that you are leaving?

Im only about 7DPO so a way to go yet.

Diege · 11/10/2011 09:44

Arghh, my post just clicked and disappeared Hmm.
To summarise...
Sorry to hear ms so bad RUGBY - if it's any consolation it does seem (for me at least, and for others too) to peak at around 8 weeks then very gradually improve. Are you actually being sick? If it gets worse then I'd se the GP as there are some wonder meds out there that make it bearable. I have to say too that I got a shiver up my spine when I saw your sweepstake guess - I think that's the date that some automated programme gave me when I put in cycle length/ov date etc Grin
GING, shellac a sort of cross between gel nails and a permanent polish. So you have the UV setting thing, but no extension of the actual nail length. I had acrylics for years (tastefully done I might add, not square talons Wink) so this seems very doable and something that will sadly cheer me up in the coming weeks Blush. I was even considering a spray tan but think the thought of me standing there in a thong is something I just couldn't contemplate Grin

Diege · 11/10/2011 09:48

Meant to add GING that we only dtd once (at the right-ish time) the month I conceived this time; also with dd2. So you never know. How are yu feeling symotoms-wise?

Rugbylovingmum · 11/10/2011 10:04

Thanks for the sympathy Diege and Ginger - I'm just feeling a bit sorry for myself because its Tuesday morning and I'm back at work. I have been sick a couple of times but mostly just feeling nauseous. It's not really awful just constant - with DD it came in waves, usually if I hadn't eaten for a while but this is just there all day.

Ginger - it has been a bit weird since I handed my notice in. I have to have weekly meetings with my supervisor to check up on how close I am to finishing projects but other than that no-one has mentioned that I'm leaving and no-one has asked why Hmm. You'd think they might want to know. Just wish I could get finished now - 4 weeks down, 9 to go

Ooo Diege, does that mean I might actually win a sweepstake

Diege · 11/10/2011 10:11

Hold on in there RUGBY (on both the sickness and work front). In the case of the latter, will you be offered an exit interview, or at the very least a questionnaire where you can be honest about your reasons for leaving? I agree, it does seem odd that no-ones asked. Might they presume you have a better offer with another company?

Rugbylovingmum · 11/10/2011 10:23

Diege - my boss knows I haven't been happy with the way the group and the project have been run so I think she is avoiding asking so she doesn't have to hear the answer IYKWIM. I will have an exit interview with my boss but she has already said that she doesn't see the point. It would be better to have it with HR or the centre manager but the reality is that no-one is interested. It's stupid - my supervisor hasn't published in 5 years, is unlikely to get any more funding and, in my opinion, has wasted the funding she had but no-one takes responsibility for finding out why or sorting the problems. The group leaders are left to succeed or fail on their own. Can you I'm a bit bitter about it!

tinkbig · 11/10/2011 10:38

morning Grin

rugby - sickness and work must be hard!!
kay - Grin

hi diege - nails etc sound gd

this morning picked up books got orders Grin

Kayzr · 11/10/2011 10:55

Rugby MS sounds horrible, hopefully it will go soon. Sorry work is so rubbish Sad

Diege I want my nails done, but I don't know how I do things with them like changing nappies, typing etc, though I'm sure I'd learn.

Ginger I really really hope you get a BFP, it would be brilliant.

I don't feel good, I think it has more to do with the fact I have just realised I haven't had breakfast.

Diege · 11/10/2011 11:22

RUGBY you sound rightly bitter - that sounds an awful place to work. I would push to have your exit interview with HR. You have a legal right to do so, and they (HR) have a legal obligation to raise issues that you bring up with managers/board of governors etc. I have forgotten, but is it an academic org that you work in? (just thinking of your ref to supervisors and publications).
TINKS, great about the orders. That must be very satisfying after all your hard work getting them out.
KAYZ, it would take you about 48 hrs to get used to having 'done' nails, and then you could change a nappy with one hand and your eyes closed Wink The only thing that I never got used to (with acrylics) was picking my nose Wink Now get some breakfast woman you are growing a baby!
Well I have finally completed the final report/send the final e-mail, and a week after my ml has started I can start to properly nest Grin. I am a slattern so don't wash new baby clothes before first wear Blush but do blankets etc, so will get a wash on. Going out for lunch with dh too, which should be nice though I look a sight.
Oh I should mention that there has been a major fall-out on the dc5 names-front, all precipitated by last night's episode of Doc Martin I should add (you'll know what I mean if you watched it). My 'Dylan' has been relegated to (at best) a middle name and the one we have 'agreed' on (and I say 'agreed' rather reluctantly) is Samuel Dylan. I do like Samuel/Sam/Sammy but not my first choice. Dh actually had done a list Shock and it included his old fave Reginald (his great grandad), and also Leonard...Now 'Leo' I can do, as could dh, but it's the Leonard bit that I really don't like, even if for birth cert only. The other one he suggested which I have no real opinion on is the Welsh name 'Bryn'. which is very trendy just now in Wales, but not sure if it's a bit harsh sounding? Any opinions welcomed (I daren't brave the names thread).

GingerbreadLatte · 11/10/2011 11:31

Yay for Leo Diege! that is my all time favourite boys name. At risk of outing myself it was what SG was going to be as I was so sure she was a boy! will be back on my list this time.
As for other names , Joesph , Robin? Leo is nice. Or Leo Joesph?
Nails sound fab! Am laughing at idea of fake tan over a bump, if you gave birth shortly after you'd end up with a really dark patch over where baby was as it shrinks back!

Kayz- eat!! Yes, would love to join you all in preg corner of wagon :) fingers crossed :)

Tink- great re books.

Rubgy- defo sounds like you are best off out of there. Hope the time doesnt drag.

Diege · 11/10/2011 11:34

Agree 'Leo' is cute, just shudder at 'Leonard' if dh decides to use it as opposed to the shortening. Love Joseph, but again dh not keen..
Lol at tanned bump - agree, I would be left with a deflated 'dirty tummy' look that would gradually fade unevenly Grin

GingerbreadLatte · 11/10/2011 11:36

not sure all of that made sense about names. Confused

Will have a think for more.!

Rugbylovingmum · 11/10/2011 11:38

Diege - yes I work in a university research dept. I should demand to have my leaving interview with HR, particularly as the previous member of staff to leave approached HR and said my boss was bullying/harassing her. It just seems too much effort when I know they won't care. Would rather speak to the head of our dept so I am going to wait a few weeks then approach him closer to my leaving date.

I like Samuel Dylan, not really keen on Bryn (sorry) and like you I prefer Leo to Leonard - could you compromise on Leon or something similar?

Kayz - go and eat!

Kayzr · 11/10/2011 16:31

I ate!!!! We went out for lunch.

I'm at the doctors in 20 minutes about my lack of sleep so I'm going to tell him I'm pregnant to get everything started.

hellokittyruleswastink · 11/10/2011 16:45

good luck kay

Kayzr · 11/10/2011 18:04

Waste of time!! He worked out due date, gave me folic acid prescription and that's it.

Got told that booking in appointments are now at the hospital so I need to get the bus there with DS2 as DP will be at work.

Diege · 11/10/2011 18:34

Ooh folic acid prescription KAYZ - never had one of those! At least you're in the system now - very exciting! Out5 of interest, which is your hospital? Scarborough? (always wondered when in Whitby where I would go if needing anti-d!)
TINKS, like both, possibly first one a little more? When is dd2's birthday? Confused
RUGBY, def speak to HoD. That's pretty poor on the publication score of supervisor too - would get picked up on in my place (which isn't great either). Makes me feel a little better about my publication record!
Dh out so having to get all dcs to bed and I'm struggling. I'll be pleased when I can pick things off the floor first time and can get up the stairs with ease!

Kayzr · 11/10/2011 18:43

Scarborough is the only one to give birth at due to NHS cuts but all scans and appointments are done at malton.

GingerbreadLatte · 11/10/2011 18:51

FA on script does sound unusual. What did doc say re lack of sleep?

I like the first one too tink

Hope bedtime goes ok Diege. Get your feet up after !
X

GingerbreadLatte · 11/10/2011 18:52

Lack of :) next to FA comment made it look a bit Hmm didn't mean that!!

Is good :)
