Had to start a new thread, as our old one got too big to post anymore.
yay figgy - your scan sounds great! A wee boy - now you only have to think about boy names. Woohoo.

I would definitely ring. I changed mine (it is still at lunchtime but on a different day!) so my husband could come as the first time he wouldn't have been able to, and they were really nice and changed it no problem. If there is a slot free on another day I don't see why it should be an issue. 9am would be more practical, wouldn't it!

Thanks mopsy. Aquanatal always seems to be in the middle of the day. Surely most first time mothers are working during the day?

kri5ty · 27/07/2011 07:20

oooo i found you! I really thought i was going crazy yesterday... thought maybe i had dreamt this thread up!!

aww cherry yayyy another boy!! i find out tomorrow... i think it might be a boy... all the old wives tales, wanting savory food (check), it being lazy and not moving (check), getting hairy(check), just a bump and no other weight(check) ... ooo and it was scratching its bum and sucking its thumb on the 12 week scan! haha

lala, mopsy i had a wee panic moment worrying about what to buy for lo... luckily now i have printed that entire thread off and have a check list i am making my way through :o

kri5ty · 27/07/2011 07:23

Ps i dont feel guilty about taking time off work... but that prob becuase i am not doing my normal job anymore as it doesnt pass the risk assessment.. too dangerous for us pregnant ladies, so i am just in, what is basically, a made up role!

and as for aqua natal, its to annoying being i the middle of the day! I work shifts but still cant make any classes :(

mopsytop · 27/07/2011 10:22

Yep aquanatal here too at 10.30 am. Do they think no mothers-to-be work? Is really annoying. Pregnancy Yoga is at 12.30 but at least can squeeze it into my lunchbreak.

Kri5ty I think they moved this thread to ante-natal clubs. I am sure I created it in pregnancy. I couldn't find it either and had to search for it.

p.s. kri5ty I think mine might be a boy too and so does my husband, so I am looking forward to seeing if we are right! I don't mind a bit either way but it's interesting we both think that.

Re: shopping the list is definitely useful but so far I haven't bought anything. Getting a load of clothes from my sister and her sister-in-law so I am hoping I won't have to buy many clothes ...

OP posts:
kri5ty · 27/07/2011 10:35

aww thats great mopsy :) a friend has lots of boys clothes, so if my feeling is correct then i shall be fine for clothes!!

I am really not bothered what we have at all... we both did want a girl at first, but had a few problems with suspected ectopic etc, so now we are both sooo greatful for what we have that we honestly don't mind!

(plus if it is a boy i can always paint his toe nails... no one will know! ;) )

lalababy · 27/07/2011 10:50

Congrats Cheerypi

As for tubes... it is rather rare to get offered a seat if you don't have a "baby on board" badge or look supremely pregnant. I think most guys are too scared that they might offer a seat to someone who isn't preggers... and get told off!

Looks like I am going to be the last person to have the scan!!! Next Friday! Essentially in my quest for a convinient appointment (9:00am) I have had to wait almost a week extra for my scan :( I am so jealous of everyone else... Envy when will it be my turn!

kri5ty · 27/07/2011 10:53

lala just think how amazing the pics will be though with you waiting that extra time :o

lalababy · 27/07/2011 10:55

Okay - I am going nuts... I keep responding before I read all the posts I've missed.

Kri5ty... I am going to print the list out too. Hubby and I are moving to our new place in 2 weeks - so I will only start shopping then. I know it sounds silly but I am so excited about doing up the nursery (mainly coz it is the first house) so I want to take my time and get it right (whatever that means!)

Mopsy / Kri5ty - expecting more boys huh... DH and I think we are having a boy... but secretly I am really hoping for a girl. It will be like having my own dolly that I can dress up... hehehe

lalababy · 27/07/2011 10:56

Hey has anyone gotten a 3D scan or planning to? A friend of mine did when she was 30 weeks and said it was amazing... they give you a DVD. And you can the baby clearly as it sucks it thumb, plays with the cord etc!

kri5ty · 27/07/2011 10:58

yes i plan on it :( OH thinks its a waste of money... but my best friend (and future god mummy) is paying half with me hehe

yes i am soooo sure it is a boy... this time tomorrow i will know eeek :o

lalababy · 27/07/2011 11:09

I am totally doing it! Waste of money ha... we are pregnant and we are entitled to some luxuries, don't you reckon... !

kri5ty · 27/07/2011 11:12

ooo i sure do!! i am still trying to convince him about the luxuries, so that he will massage my feet... but no luck yet :( again the future god mummy is doing that for me on friday haha bless her, i havent seen her for about a month as she lives too far away :(

lalababy · 27/07/2011 12:16

Ah... you just have to try and be convincing... play up the drama a bit Wink "my poor back... swollen ankles" hehehe

Good thing your friend is so thoughtful - even if she lives far. Most of my friends are single - so too busy hitting the london bar scene... at least DH has been doing most of housework Shock

Although... too be fair, with all the baby shopping ahead of me... it is like xmas is coming early. Heheh funny.. given the baby is due around xmas

kri5ty · 27/07/2011 12:24

no chance, he just says "i know" if i mention any aches or pains! lol

mopsytop · 27/07/2011 13:54

lala I amn't having my scan until Monday week because I pushed it back so my husband could come too. Otherwise it'd be next week. So I think you'll be before me!

OP posts:
Awomancalledhorse · 27/07/2011 14:05

No 3D scan here, argued with DH over getting the stupid first scan pictures (he won & we got the picture), we're only getting one at 20wks because the inlaws want a picture of it for some odd reason.

DH is giving me nightly foot massages, and letting me buy more 'me treats'!

We're not finding out what we're having, but are both convinced it's a boy (and going by all the old wives tales, it will be)!

figgygal · 28/07/2011 07:33

21 weeks tomorrow and I feel huge just caught sight of self in mirror getting dressed and the bump is massive I can't believe I have 4 months to go how much bigger can I get am already struggling to bend over and walk up stairs this is going to be hard!!!!

mopsytop · 28/07/2011 10:02

At least it's a bump figgy, I just feel F.A.T. fat. It's really depressing. Why does my ass have to get so large? I am eating really healthily but because I haven't been able to exercise yet I now have booty the size of Wales. Sigh.

OP posts:
lalababy · 28/07/2011 15:56

I know exactly how you feel... I have a pretty big bump but at the same time I feel like I am getting fat all around...! I need some elasticated pants... and soon :(

mopsytop · 28/07/2011 16:05

It's depressing isn't it? I know the most important thing is the baby and that it's healthy etc. and so far for me (fingers crossed) the baby seems fine. But it's hard not to get down about the exponential growth of one's 'assets' (mine are becoming liabilities!!).

OP posts:
kri5ty · 29/07/2011 07:14

Well all the old wives tales turned out t be true... we are having a boy :o .... and there is no chance of them have gotting it wrong... even my OH knew (i couldnt see the screen)

I was in there for 40 mins rather than 20 as he wouldn't move... she was prodding and shaking my stomach, rolling me in to all different positions... it still wouldnt move!! And the whole time i could see OH looking at the screen laughing, as on the screen you could see bump bouncing up and down inside... and he was convinced it looked like he had his head on his hand.. in kind of a porn star style lol

mopsytop · 29/07/2011 11:23

Yay congrats kri5ty! It seems to be all boys at the moment!

OP posts:
kri5ty · 29/07/2011 11:58

i know, there must be something in the water!! i am secretly even more excited, as now i can plan my jungle nursery i have always wanted to do! nice and bright yellows, oranges, green etc :o
