Anybody else out there?????
Very surprised, had only SWI once and I thought we had missed the window of opportunity. It seems not, BFP yesterday, royal wedding treat. EDD about 2nd Jan I think.

#2 for me, keeping fingers tightly crossed as had a bumpy ride before conceiving DS. Very excited and slightly terrified. :)

Hey Spag I'v been thinking the same. Dd was a total nightmare yesterday in the shops. She kept throwing herself on the floor and was screaming all the time because I wouldn't pick her up. In her defence she was shattered.

Bonza where about in Oz are you? My brother is due to emigrate to Adelaide next year. Dont feel bad about your dh, I'm sure he will understand. x

Just realied that the maternity ward in our local brand spanking new high tech hospital will be open by September! [cgrin]

BonzaBlue · 02/05/2011 12:30

Sho - I am in NSW - on the Central Coast. Just after DH has bought me 6 bottles of red wine on special LOL .... they can keep !

Hey guys. How's everyone today? I feel a bit better today, not so tired and DP has been brilliant with running around doing housework and making us all lunch. Spoiled rotten today, I feel very happy Grin

I too was wondering how I'm going to cope with a boistrous DS and huge bump???!!! My DS flopped down in the middle of a shop because I wouldn't buy him some chocolate buttons (curse my FIL for introducing them to him). I had a sudden flash forward a few months of myself really huge and flustered and just thought 'uh oh'. Grin

sleepywombat I wouldn't worry about the odd glass of wine, I think it's perfectly safe. I used to drink the odd glass when I was pregnant with DS altough I am being waaaaaay more cautious this time around.

tigana · 02/05/2011 17:22

wow, a minor explosion of bfps! Congratulations browncoats, bonza, wombat and hotcrosses.

hotcrossSES · 02/05/2011 20:20

Thanks for the welcomes everyone!
The worrying has started - had a bit of pink/red spotting earlier but nothing since so FX!

sleepywombat - the wine won't have mattered as your placenta won't be functional yet. In any case - I know it's a bit of a contentious issue but - I don't think a couple of units in a week would do any harm.

BonzaBlue - how did your DH react? I wouldn't worry, we all know ttc is not an exact science!

Hello everyone else - hope you're enjoying the last bank holiday evening for a few weeks!

Spagbolagain · 02/05/2011 20:42

HotcrossSES, FX for you, hoping it's just some implantation stuff

Am sitting here yawning, wondering when I can go to bed. Can't believe it's back to work tomorrow, I can't be arsed am feeling a bit jaded

GiraffeAHolic · 02/05/2011 20:58

Hi everyone, hope everyones bank holiday has been good.

still in total disbelief here. A positive can't be wrong - can it? Going to phone surgery in the morning about booking in with midwife :) (although tempted to get another test and do first Blush)

No real symptoms here except supreme tiredness. Boobs were agony before bfp but tolerable since and I have no appetite at all, feel hungry take one bite and am stuffed Confused

I had constant sickness at least 3 times a day everyday right up to when I was in labour with Dd so hoping to avoid that
this time and hoping SPD doesn't rear it's ugly head again.

Mama5isalive · 02/05/2011 21:11

BonzaBlue · 02/05/2011 22:44

Well - good morning / evening. I still have not told DH yet .... I think I may try to wait until 6 / 7 weeks as I have had mc around then too and I want to save him from the stress of it all .... but saying that he will notice that i am not drinking soon !

I don't like to keep secrets from DH but he was so stressed through my mmc in Feb we had a horrid time together .... last night was frantically busy too and I want to get him on a quiet night to tell him. I have two children already they are 9 and 11 so quite a big gap !

Browncoats · 02/05/2011 23:50

Wow Mama5isalive you've got your hands full already and another one on the way! Congratulations!!! I love big families, I come from one and my parents house is always chaos.

BonzaBlue It's difficult going through a miscarriage isn't it. I'm sure the right time will pop up soon enough for you to tell your DH.

Anyway, I'm off to bed people and I'll check in in the morning

HotcrossSES FX for you - I'm sure it's going to be fine and let us know how you are in the morning

hotcrossSES · 03/05/2011 10:04

Morning everyone :)
No more spotting here so hopefully all fine. Thank you for your supportive comments :)

Mama5 - wow!! I also love the idea of a large family. DH is one of 6 and it's great now with all the nieces and nephews too. I fear it's too late for us though as I'm 38yo now and this will be DC2.

BonzaBlue - thinking of you and hope the right moment to tell DH appears.

SpagBol - I have also been feeling tired more than usual. Pg related already or just the relaxing effect of all these BHs?!

Giraffeaholic - hope you don't suffer so badly with the sickness this time round.

Sorry not to NC everyone. I'd better get on with some work!

shonnomanom · 03/05/2011 10:20

Good Morning! (Good Evening Down Under)

How are you this morning Hotcross?

I saw the doctor today to check about my current medication whilst pregnant. Did any of you know that taken Gavisgon in the first 3 months is discouraged? I suffer alot from heartburn and have been advised not to take my current meds as there has been no tests on it with pregnancy. So pretty much I'v to just suffer if I get heartburn in the next few months. Nice.

The doctor also reckons that I might be further along than I think I am due to my periods being irregular. Got booked with the mw for 2 weeks today.

GwendolineMaryLacey · 03/05/2011 16:25

Afternoon everyone! I'm rubbish at name-checking people too, I can't keep up! Just posting quickly from work. Five weeks tomorrow, the trouble with really early bfp is that the weeks go even more slowly than they usually do. No symptoms to speak of, a bit tired, boobs a bit sore but nothing major, bit windy/heartburny. Not sick yet...I really really don't want to be sick but when I knew something was wrong before my mmc in Jan I'd have given anything to be as sick as a dog.

Got to wait a fortnight then I'll be on the doorstep of the EPU for a scan.

Hope you're all ok :)

summerfruitsalad · 03/05/2011 17:32

Hello everyone, can I join?

Got a BFP this morning, bit of a surprise I must say as have a 10 month old DS and only stopped bfing 2 months ago! No idea what my cycle was but with my LMP puts my due date as 1st Jan - New Year baby!

Still trying to get my head round it all as it feels soon after DS, we were planning on trying from September, but it seems I am prone to DH's super sperm! We didn't do it that often last month but have no idea when we actually conceived.

Don't feel any different, no sore boobies and had that straight away with DS, was a little tired last week and felt a little odd this morning but may have had something to do with doing a test at 5am this morning!

When is everyone planning on phoning the GP? Do you actually need to make an appointment or do you tell the receptionist about a positive HPT and they book you in with the midwives?

Take care everyone!

Spagbolagain · 03/05/2011 18:02

Hi summerfruitsalad, congrats on your lovely surprise!
I saw my GP today because I have an under active thyroid and I knew they would want to take blood asap to check my levels. While I was there I got booked in with community midwife, appointment next week!

I think at our surgery you can just book a midwife appointment straight away, but they like you to call in beforehand to pick up a set of notes and a sample bottle. So you can fill it in / up before the appointment! I would just ask receptionist what to do.

Definite icky taste in mouth all day today, and very very hungry.......ate 3 biscuits and a large muffin, not good!

fifitrixabelle78 · 03/05/2011 18:47

Hey everyone! Nice to meet the new posters.

Feels like days are in slow motion at the moment, doesn't it?

Roll on 9pm when it might seem acceptable to crash into bed.

summerfruitsalad · 03/05/2011 18:54

Thanks spagbol, will just ring up next week. They were right grumpy moobags on reception, never like speaking to them, haha!

With DS the MW came to my house for my first appointment on a Sat morning when I was about 9 weeks. How old is your DS?

Been mumsnetting during naptime and and now feeling excited, reading up about winter babies etc and thinking what pregnancy will be like - total opposite for me as DS was born in July! I think hubby will take a little longer to feel the excitement of having another baby. We want a large family and the 18 month age gap scares me a bit but mumsnet has actually put my mind to rest there!

It still doesn't feel real though, I may not be saying that when I have my head down the bog in a few days....

And most put out as yesterday DH and I had cream tea as a treat and now I can't bloody have the clotted cream, hope he doesn't rub it in too much!

Browncoats · 03/05/2011 19:04

It really does feel like everything's going so slowly. I just called the hospital today to get an early scan and they don't even start the early scans until you're 8 weeks and I'm only 5! It seems like AGES away Sad. I have no patience.

My sore boobs and feeling sick has started today. When I was pregnant with DS I had possibly 3 days my whole pregnancy I felt just slightly sick but nothing I couldn't handle. When I was pregnant last year I was sick every day, sometimes twice a day - so hopefully this one will be somewhere in between?

I can smell everything too. I made my brother a coffee earlier when he popped in and I almost threw up in his cup Grin

Spagbolagain · 03/05/2011 19:34

Our MW does her appointments at the Drs surgery once a week. I think normally appointments are around 8 weeks, but earlier if you've got a specific thing, in my case thyroid. She will refer me to antenatal endocrine clinic I think, so again they will get that moving soon. DS is 18 months, and at the moment just does not stop running around and trashing things. At the weekend he worked out how to flush the loo, so am expecting a big water bill :o fortunately nursery do a good job of wearing him out. Not trying to scare you summerfruitsalad re your 18mo gap or anything :o they're gorgeous really.

Oh Browncoats, how frustrating! The coffee smell thing is getting me too. Every time I sat next to someone drinking it today at work, I felt slightly gaggy.

Hi everyone

I got a surprise positive test yesterday so I am checking in here.
We have been TTC in a slightly half-hearted way - I was charting and then lost track. I had a chemical pregnancy in February and didn't really keep track of my cycle after that. For some reason I had a bit of a dippy moment and calculated that my period was due around the 1st of May (I have a long and slightly irregular cycle - 34-36 days usually) when my last period started on 21st March, so I was fairly convinced we hadn't been up to anything around ovulation time.

I had a short bit of bleeding on Saturday and thought it was my period starting but it stopped almost immediately and didn't come back. I did a recalculation and realised I was actually a few days overdue so tested and got a positive, 3 weeks plus!

I am a bit nervous about knowing this early, especially given the bleeding, but hoping for the best.

I think my due date is 2nd January.

aurorasky · 03/05/2011 20:26

Welcome kungfu.

Congratulations on your surprise! I also have had a bleed that I presumed was my period starting. It was on the day I was due. after 2 days of it just mysteriously stopping I tested and the Clear Blue gave me a 2-3 weeks reading.

I am thinking it was just a breakthrough bleed, but I can now understand how some people get 'periods' when pregnant as I had spotting for 3 days afterwards and Im sure if I had not been paying attention I could have mistaken it for a real period!

Fingers crossed for everyone x

d0gFace · 03/05/2011 20:42

Hi and congrats all :) Hoping to join you.

Got my bfp last week. Not getting too excited as had an early mc last month, feels abit strange getting pregnant again stright away.

EDD 2nd jan.

Bought a new bra at weekend to fit in my massive achey boobs!

ShimmeryPixie · 03/05/2011 22:12

Hello!

fifitrixabelle78 - thanks for the directions to the thread. :)

I'm due in the first week of Jan and have PO-two-S to be sure that it's a yes. I have also filled in the "Pregnancy Booking Form" that my surgery gave me (we don't talk to the doctor it seems - just go straight to the midwives) and will be contacted sometime in the next 10 to 14 days.

I'm quite excited/nervous/terrified about it all as this is my first ever BFP.

tigana · 03/05/2011 22:28

hi to all the new due-bies. Lost track now so can't namecheck (short term memory shot..blaming hormones.).

Phoned GP and have appt with MW at 8weeks ish. Could have been earlier (like in 2 weeks time!) but the appt clashed with a meeting at work ( which seemed to surprise the receptionist...she obviously works, so why did she seem surprised that I did?! )
Tired at work today. Bleurgh.
Am really having to watch myself at work not to blurt something out...will have to tell boss sooner rather than later (if only to get time off for appts etc) but will probably wait until after MW appt.

Still doesn't quite seem real - I keep getting sudden flashes of "Oh shit! I really am going to go through all that again...Wow!" [mildly panicked grin]
