Anybody else out there?????
Very surprised, had only SWI once and I thought we had missed the window of opportunity. It seems not, BFP yesterday, royal wedding treat. EDD about 2nd Jan I think.

#2 for me, keeping fingers tightly crossed as had a bumpy ride before conceiving DS. Very excited and slightly terrified. :)

Hello, at long last I've plucked up the courage to join you!
Am 9 wks pg with DC3 (have DDs 7.5 and nearly 6) and had a sneaky second viewing of LO on Friday thanks to sympathetic gyn who knows how paranoid I am after MC.
EDD about 14th Jan (I was just thinking though, what a cool date it would be to give birth on 12th Jan: it would look like this: 12012012!! But highly unlikkely in my case as both my DDs were born at 41 wks.)
Nausea comes on late afternoon-evening with me, but no throwing up thankfully...

Best to all of you!

ParsleyLion1 · 13/06/2011 13:34

welcome abeautifulbutterfly :)

Linda40 · 13/06/2011 13:47

Hello to all the newbies :)

Very happy that Ive made it to 10 weeks, woo hoo! Still feeling very nauseous, blah!

Scan date booked for the 1st July, which is the day before I fly on my hols, Im praying that everything will be ok.

kdiddy · 13/06/2011 14:05

Hello ladies ... another newbie here! I'm 9 weeks today, first baby, and have been lurking on the boards for a while before finally deciding to take the plunge and join the thread today.

Cautiously excited - have had 3 bouts of bleeding so far, with 2 early scans but thankfully everything seemed normal at the last one with dates spot on and we saw the little bean with its heartbeat flashing away! So I am excited but really conscious that I don't want to get too carried away with myself (good luck with that one!!)

Moobee · 13/06/2011 14:12

Welcome kdiddy and butterfly! butterfly, that is an ace birthdate! I'm due on 8/1/12, and it's my first so there's a possibility it could be late...

Glad the early scans went well for both of you. My 12 week scan is two weeks today - I'm so impatient!

d0gFace · 13/06/2011 14:20

Hi and welcome to all the newbies!

Is anyone else having lower back/leg pain? Mine tends to be in the evening on and off. Last night I got stuck on the landing and couldnt move for about 5 mins. Everytime I tried to put weight on my leg I got a shooting pain up and into my lower back.Confused

Im excited about my booking app tomorrow, should I take a sample with me?

Hope everyone is well.

kdiddy · 13/06/2011 14:31

Thanks everyone. I just know that MN is going to be such a lifesaver in the coming months (and years probably!).

Dogface - I've got my booking in appointment tomorrow too, they haven't told me to bring anything with me though (apart from the bible-like pregnancy notes they sent me the other week Shock).

d0gface if you don't take one with you, they generally ask you to go while you're there. I took a specimen with me as I can NEVER go when someone wants me too Blush

supadupapupascupa · 13/06/2011 15:10

Take a sample ladies, They didn't ask me to but was commended for taking one. Bottles cost around 40p from the chemist.

d0gFace · 13/06/2011 15:15

Yea I cant go on demand either, I get some sort of toilet stage fright! :o

Thanks for the info. :)

Nanny01 · 13/06/2011 15:39

If all else fails turn or the tap always works for me LOL!

madmomma · 13/06/2011 16:32

Hey guys, room for a little one?
EDD 20/1/12
just found out - we'd planned to wait a year or so as we have an 8month DS (and a teenaged daughter!) Very nervous about how I'll cope with two babies. Help?!

knittiekitty · 13/06/2011 16:58

Congrats Madmomma and to all other new ladies since I last logged in. It's taken me half an hour to read through, so much has happened in a week and I was desperately sorry for the ladies who've lost their beans. I had no idea that you could have a missed mc and assumed I was doing ok as I've had no bleeding so far. I have my scan at the end of next week and will worry until then but I am the worrying sort and can usually find something to fret about. One of the ladies I'm pals with at dd's nursery has just had another mc, her third in two years of trying and I feel so sad for her and feel that there's nothing useful I can say to offer comfort.
I've spent the past week feeling so ill, I sort of cling to the reassurance of it but get little respite from it. I was at my bf's wedding yesterday, it was a stunning day and she looked beautiful. I got through my reading and the nausea held off until late afternoon so we did well. Especially as the meal didn't start until 3pm and our table was nearly last to be invited to the buffet - I was nearly sobbing in desperation!

I'd forgotten about the joy of specimen bottles. Last time I ended up taking a glass ramekin with me as I got sick of weeing on my hand trying to catch a sample when I couldn't see anything down there!

Mama5isalive · 13/06/2011 19:53

WELCOME ALL NEWBIE - so nice to see the list just growing just like our lil beans!!Smile
Congrats on all who its the first time down this road, it will be fine you can hold the 2/3/4th timers hands!( cyber hands)

I finally found my mojoBlush much to my DH surprise felt really bad for he has had nothing since i found out! as soon as my head hits the pillow im out. that it till 2nd tri now!Grin LOL x

Curlygirl72 · 13/06/2011 22:52

I'm going insane here , hearing about everyone's scans and mw appts!! I've heard zero word since going to gp nearly 3 weeks ago. Called hospital last monday and they said they had my details but still no letter. First pg and all sorts of things are going thru my head, I just want to feel like I'm in the system and someone out there cares... Will call again tomorrow. Sad

Curlygirl72 · 13/06/2011 22:54

Also now paranoid that I've had no nausea or put on any weight... Should I be worried or are others also not feeling massively different? Am 8 weeks I think...

d0gFace · 13/06/2011 23:22

Welcome Madmomma.

I started feeling sick at around 7 weeks Curly but apprently something like 50% of women get no sickness at all. My mum's always going on about how she had no symptoms with me and nothing changed untill she was around 20 weeks.

I didnt hear anything for 4 weeks after I visited my doctor, rang up and my notes were between hospitals and I wasnt even in the system yet.(That was last week) Got my booking appointment tomorrow and Im currently 11 weeks.

Hope you get a letter soon, I got a phone call. :)

MercyMe · 14/06/2011 08:34

Wow this thread moves so quick! Sorry I haven't been on too much, I'm a bit of a lurker!

Congratulations to all the newbies! Brilliant news for you all!

So sorry for all the losses that people have experienced, thinking of everyone.

I have my 12 week scan on 1st July, I think they will also do a nuchal one too-does that sound right? With dd the hospital didnt offer nuchal screening or a 20 week scan. I still don't have a huge amount of symptoms, had a few bouts of nausea that passed quickly so will be very relieved to see scan.

Hope you're alll well x

shonnomanom · 14/06/2011 10:17

Congrats and welcome to the Newbies!!

Curly I would call them again, explain that the waiting is causing you unnecessary stress. Maybe they will give you a date over the phone. Good luck.
And also remember everyone's body reacts differently to pregnancy. My friend didnt realise she was pregnant until she was just under 5 months pregnant. She's a big girl so didnt realise the change in her belly. Hope this helps

GiraffeAHolic · 14/06/2011 12:31

Quick question - those of you with toddler dcs, when are you planning on telling them about the baby?

I planned to tell Dd (3.3) after my 12 week scan (next Friday) she has seen my pregnant cousin regularly so will grasp what I'm telling her.

However, dh thinks we should wait longer before telling her so she doesn't have such a long wait before baby actually being here.

Trouble is I want to be able to tell people after the scan and would hate Dd to be told by someone else/pick it up before I'd spoken to her.

What do you ladies think/what are you planning on doing?

Linda40 · 14/06/2011 12:31

Hello friends

curly yes give them a ring and demand a booking in appointment, (tell them you need to arrange your hols!) And everyone feels different. Every pregnancy is different, believe me!

dogface Ive had back pain for weeks, think Ive got a slightly trpped nerve in my lower back on the right, and when I lie down to rest my right leg aches. Ive decided not to take anti inflammatories and just put up with the pain.

mercyme We have our scans on the same day (mines at 8.40am :( not a good time to be drinking all that water!) Im having the nuchal one done. Cant believe you werent offered this for you dd or the 20 weeks scan!

I hope everyone is well, Im off to decide whether I can face lunch :S

Moobee · 14/06/2011 14:26

Welcome Madmomma!

Curly not every gets early symptoms so don't worry about that. Keep on at them to give you an appointment, that's not fair to make you wait so long.

GiraffeAholic I think you're right - if you wait and she hears it from someone else it'll be really bad. I don't have any children but I remember my parents withholding some important information from me when I was five and it always stuck with me. I think children learning that some things take a long time to happen isn't a bad lesson and you can share the stages you go through (so from an early bump to the first kicks).

I had my booking in appointment this morning with a lovely midwife. She gave me the options of a midwife centre not too far away that I didnt know existed. It was all very exciting and I think it made it feel more real for my husband too. The fact that my BMI is 31 wasn't mentioned as a reason for concern which I was very relieved about. Just waiting for the scan now! :)

d0gFace · 14/06/2011 14:44

Hello's,

Had my appointment this morning as well, currently with the MLU as I wasnt sure which to pick out of the choice of MLU, Hospital or homebirth. So much information I've forgotten most of it already. :) Got my scan date for the 27th!

Moobee · 14/06/2011 15:34

Hi d0gface (feels quite rude calling someone that), my scan is on the 27th too, at 1pm. I couldn't believe how much paperwork I was given! A tip to those that haven't been yet - take a large bag with you.

I chose MLU too, although it's so early, they said that the decision doesn't need to be made until about week 30 and it depends on how the baby's lying, where the placenta is, are there any complications. I'm not brave enough to chose a home birth for my first.
