Very surprised, had only SWI once and I thought we had missed the window of opportunity. It seems not, BFP yesterday, royal wedding treat. EDD about 2nd Jan I think.

#2 for me, keeping fingers tightly crossed as had a bumpy ride before conceiving DS. Very excited and slightly terrified. :)

That nhs pregnancy book is pretty impressive! Starting to feel more real having notes ect.

Yeah she said I can change my mind at any time, feel exactly the same about a home birth. My thinking is the MLU is the best of both worlds as its only something like a 4 min drive if I need a hospital and I'd like a active/water birth atm, so hopefully I'll be low risk all the way through and they'll have space.

Apprently I'm still the same weight which Im suprised at, as I've been eating abit more and my tummy looks huge compared to normal.

Hello, can I join? I have been holding off a bit as the last few weeks have just been a whirl but now sadly I have some time on my hands as I am off work sick and could do with nice people to talk to. So I am due 6th Jan making me 10 wks now, and it's my first baby. Have been taking each day as it comes and not thinking too much about the future as I don't want to be disappointed. But yesterday I starting throwing up violently and it seems I have gastroenteritis. Was at a family party at wkend and half of them had had a sickness bug, so I guess I've caught that. But the other possible culprit is that I ate prawns, which in hindsight seems foolish but they were cooked and fresh, in date, I heated them through and I was following Nhs advice which allows cooked shellfish. So I'm just hoping it's not food poisoning. Have been to GP who has tested for salmonella and listeria, will know by the end of the week. Please send me good vibes! Am delighted to hear about your BFPs and hope there will be happy news for all of us at our scans.

Being a little geeky I have looked it up and I think the term is 'elderly primigravida'. How insulting! Am also 33 and classed as elderly primate so I feel your pain!

Thanks all you lovely ladies! Wow I think last night was maybe my first taste of crazy pg hormones, I was proper freaking out. Anyway, I called the hospital this morning and they came back to me with dates within half an hour, hurrah!! Scan is on my birthday, which is kind of nice.
And I'm going to start feeling lucky that I'm not sick, rather than feeling sorry for myself... have to remind myself every day that this is something I've wanted for so long and I'm really really happy, but just have to take the rough with the smooth.

Well I had my booking in appointment today - nothing dramatic to report but I was quite excited esp to get my scan date.

So I just wanted to say that I feel like a proper pregnant lady today!! I know that sounds silly but at this stage it doesn't seem quite real for me yet (especially because hardly anyone knows). The midwife was lovely and genuinely seemed excited for me even though she must have seen LOADS of preggos!!

No need to reply, but I feel really happy today

I'm too tired to scroll through our lengthy thread but I had to say big thank you thank you thank you for the cheese and ginger cake suggestion - such bliss for my poor seasick tum!

I haven't been as happy in weeks - thin slices of cheddar with a sticky wodge of jamaican ginger cake inbetween was just heavenly. I have to be grown up now and eat proper dinner but I'm dreaming about cheddinger happiness for afters! Thank you!

My scan date has come through :) 15/7. Pleased about the date, we have a big family lunch on 17/7 and holding it in would have been tough - particularly for my step mother, she's struggling now!

Feeling left out. :(

I'm 10 weeks + 4 days (11 weeks + 1 day going by MW) and I have no scan date yet!

However a friend told me that I should be starting to feel my uterus above the pubic bone and I had a prod before and it's there!

Giraffe I have already told my little boy but he's nearly 5 so he's not a toddler anymore, I couldnt not tell him as we have been saying for a while next year you will be having a little brother or sister. So when we told him he just looked at us and said he knew ha! Do what you feel is best for you.

Parsleylion1 if I can remember the 12 wk scan feels very cold, wet and strange at first, it was emotional too so take your tissues if your likely to blub.

Tired....Bloaty feeling...Sore nips and heavy boobs...back aches when stand for too long....hope second trimester is better am sure it was last time and got 4 weeks to wait for that boo!

8 weeks tomorrow at last my baby looks more like a human instead of having a tail and strange lumps.

Has anyone else got Babybump app on iphone? I downloaded it quite handy to see on daily basis what our beans look like.

giraffe our dd was the reason that we had to tell the family so early. She(3y) overheard dp and I discussing it, we were always careful not to say 'baby' and didnt think she would have caught on. Then one day she started to talking about the baby in mummies belly. We tried to downplay it but she kept bringing up.
I think if your going to make it public then you need to tell her first.

mama5 yes 20june is my scan and booking appointment. My left button on my laptop doesnt work and dd has hid the plug in mouse so when I find it I'l amend my line to show BA+Scan.

Congrats to everyone getting scan dates and having happy mw appointments.

I was feeling quite uncomfortable yesterday and seem to have grow some overnight. Dp got quite a surprise when he came in from work this afternoon at my size. And ofcourse made another joke/panic comment about the possible amount of babies in my belly. We'l find out on Monday!!!!!!

BHM - yeh i am the same at work, but to me its nice to see if someone shares the same edd as you or has a scan the same time as you i guess or sheer nosey you decide! Im due in dec according to them but until my scan confirms that im staying here on this thread!( im not moving to another thread, i like it here)

giraffe we are hoping to wait until the 12 wk scan until we tell ds (also 3). We have told family and close friends but also said he doesn't know yet so there is not too much talk around him. Like sho though I am wondering if he is cottoning on. He has just pointed out my tummy to me. It is bigger than it was now. Hopefully we can stretch it until july 4th but if not never mind!

Mum2b79 you should definitely chase them - there are certain tests that need to be done by about week 13/14 (if you want them).

I thought my sickness was fading but then I threw up in the bathrooms at my office. Two ladies were waiting outside my cubicle with water and sympathy. I didn't tell them what was wrong so that was awkward...

Big morning for me this morning I took my first son for a visit to his secondary school. Bless he looked and I know he felt so small too. Also have another scan this morning but not sure how I can relax worrying about my boy as he has special needs and was really looking worried. So much for taking things easy!

Nanny01 my heart goes out to you! But I'm sure he will surprise you with how well he takes to it. I remember I started out hating secondary school and ended up not wanting to leave!
