Just so as to stop people worrying, I believe there may be good news Grin - but more than that, I will wait for her to come and say herself.

Ginfox · 26/03/2011 19:42

Oooh Cass you big tease! But a cautious Yay! for Medee in anticipation of the big announcment.

Went to my first ever NCT nearly-new sale today. It was properly scary. Glad we got our 15mins of members only time, cos once doors opened to everyone it was carnage! A few forlorn-looking blokes were hanging about looking frightened, whilst their women-folk looked determined and - in some cases - snarly. Got some brilliant bargains tho, inc. a baby bjorn for £10.

Also I fink the foxcub might be a girly-girl, as it was soooo jumpy and excited when we were queuing to get in.

MadameBoo · 26/03/2011 20:01

Argh, bollocks to not being mates with every BESH on the faceache... the suspense is killing me! But sounds like it's all good so will wait and be good and patient...

LadyGoneGaga · 26/03/2011 23:45

Aw thanks for setting minds at ease, Cass. Glad everything is ok. Will await further info in eager anticipation Grin

Have a night completely to myself as MiniG at his Dad's and MrG in Leeds packing up his house. Have been out for a luffly Italian with friends (including large glass of red Smile) and now plan to sleep diagonally across the whole bed with my enormous stash of pillows.

Night all.

milanomum · 27/03/2011 13:42

Helllooooooo?
Where are you all?!

Thanks for the vague good news Cass - can't wait to hear the details! Hope you and stewpot are doing well.

GG am vey vey Envy of your night out - sounded lovely (especially the glass of red)

foxy Love the bargain hunting, hate crowds though so well done for braving them - sounded a bit hairy!

I have had a painful couple of days with what they call 'Kidney colic' here - think it's miniscule kidney stones. Much lying on sofa and drinking enough water to fill a swimming pool (resulting in enough pee to fill 3 more). Ow, Ow, Ow!

LadyGoneGaga · 27/03/2011 13:54

Yuck, Milano - sounds ouchy. Is there anything they can do?

macaroonmum · 27/03/2011 14:26

They put me on a drip with anti-spasm stuff in it and that really helped. Feeling much better today but making a real effort to drink loads and it makes it difficult to leave the house!

rocketleaf · 27/03/2011 15:15

Ouch!! That sounds painful Maccabee hope it clears up soon! Is this prego related or just happened that you have it now?

Question about chiro, are your symptoms supposed to get much worse before they get better? My back is now ten times worse than it was before i went and I'm a bit worried she has borked it. (hoping Cass is still lurking) I can now barely stand to put weight on my left foot in certain positions. We are supposed to be going away to Ross on Wye next weekend and I am worried I am not going to be able to do any walking at this rate. :(. Also having to do lots of shifting house stuff about because the floor laying starts tomorrow and I can't really help.

Looking forward to hearing all the deets from ourmeds when she gets a chance.

Ivegotmrbitey · 27/03/2011 17:36

Owee maccers that sounds sore hope you are OK? Are you allowed to drink anything other than water? Would you like a cup of tea?

And you mixedsalad,am an ignoramus about all things boney but hope someone can give you some advice and that you get better in time for your weekend away. Would you like a hot water bottle?

I am also home alone gaga was feeling very happy lying like a starfish across the bed with zillions of pillows until I woke up with the fear. Was obliged to lie trembling under all the pillows until the wee small hours. In a last ditch attempt at retaining a shred of DHB ness, I was holding onto a baseball bat while doing the trembling Shock

The FDH is in America and has been felled by a bout of cyclic vomitting which started on the plane. He is supposed to be doing a show soon and sounds desperate. I am very very worried about him Sad

Glad it's good news for medee and hope she is snuffling away Smile

Casserole · 27/03/2011 17:58

Macca that sounds awful, I'm so sorry.

Rocket when did you go? It is quite common to have reactions to treatment and some people react more strongly than others, but if it hasn't settled within about 36-48 hours of the treatment I would give the chiro a ring and just say you're experiencing a bad reaction and still in pain and ask them to check you over. This should be free.

Medee · 27/03/2011 18:34

We are home! Baby Girl, Elizabeth Alice, born at 6.33 on Saturday, weighing 6 lbs 14 oz. Labour went in many ways not how I wanted; ARM, labour ward, no pool, but did get to 8cm with Tens, started G+A around 5cm, and kept with the G+A all the way through to pushing. Position, mainly on my knees over the back of the bed, about which they weren't too happy, but extra monitoring of baby gave them comfort she was fine. Eventually, baby announced as Back to Back, and I was fucking knackered, so agreed to spinal block and possible forceps. Off to theatre - 5 (five!) attempts at spinal, eventually successful, bliss, and with all the contractions and the moving position, she'd got herself round the right way so was a straightforward ventouse out. Slight cut, so a bit tender, but she is amazing, and like everyone says, it really doesn#t matter how they come out.

This is rambly, will right more soon! I love her, she is the most gorgeous baby ever and a rampant feeder!

AlpinePony · 27/03/2011 18:47

Congratulations! Grin Beautiful name and another girl!

No, it wouldn't matter if they dragged them out using hobbits and shire horses.

Casserole · 27/03/2011 19:02

So pleased for you Medee Grin

The moment when the spinal kicks in is BLISS, isn't it!!

Enjoy her xx

Muser · 27/03/2011 19:13

Aw, you sound so loved up Medee. Made me go all moist eyed. Many congratulations. Bloody impressive getting to 8cm with just Tens when she was back to back.

Ginfox · 27/03/2011 19:22

Yay Medee! Sounds like you had a trying time, but enjoy your reward!

Loving the shirehorse idea Alps. Dunno if they'd fit in the lift at the hospital, but worth a try.

Ariesgirl · 27/03/2011 19:25

Oh Meds, chick, it sounds like you were very brave and patient. Well done you, and she is a little beauty!

Scorpette · 27/03/2011 20:23

YAY for Medee and your gorgeous girl - beautiful, classic name and worth every second of pain, huh?! You were so brave - echo the ouch at getting virtually all the way with a back-to-back and only TENS and a bit of G&A! Shock But then, you always seem so calm and sorted about stuff (even if you don't feel it at times!) The reward is all, eh - she sounds an absolute dream Grin

Quite glad I'm next - EEP! - because I can't wait to snuffle my Lad. Every new story just inspires me

Scorpette · 27/03/2011 20:32

Oh. My. God. Just seen the pics on FB - MEGA-MELT!

owlbooty · 27/03/2011 20:34

Hoorah!!! Meds you are a trooper; welcome to the world MiniMeds :)

Enjoy your very well-deserved snuffling :)

starcuntmole · 27/03/2011 20:46

Huge congratulations mummymed and welcome baby girl! approve muchly of name-esp middle one Wink happy snuffling!

rocketleaf · 27/03/2011 20:49

Whoop whoop! meds Well done Mrs. You sound elated!! Amazing and impressive you did so well for so long with her being back to back. Like you say, it might not have gone exactly to plan (when does it?) but now you have your amazing girl. Absolutely LOVE her name.

Enjoy your snuffling and hopefully see you back round here when things settle down a bit.

Can I just say what inordinately good looking children the ESH seem to produce. Hope I can carry on that tradition although fear for my big nosed ginger girl :o

Thanks cass I went on Friday. I have a follow up with her on Wed as part of the initial consultation. She really didn't do anything even remotely full on with me so might just have kicked it off anyway. If still bad tomorrow I might ring her and check but doubt she will be able to see me before Wed anyway.

Scorpette · 27/03/2011 20:50

Was so excited, I forgot to send healing hugs and commiserations to the Broken PESH - poor old cripplefoot Rocket and MacaroonieMilanese with the kidney woes And poor old Bitey with The Fear, too Sad

(BTW, am intrigued by FDH doing a show - v interested to know what he does (international rock star?). Sorry he's so ill too)

PollyPoo · 27/03/2011 20:55

Aw Meds you sound so happy, it is just lovely. What? I never said I was a DHB... Grin

You know it is vey strange but I feel broody. Shock I know BB is not quite 12 weeks old yet, but I really really miss being pregnant. I didn't love the SPD, high blood pressure or PND, but I just LOVE feeling that baby wriggle around and watching your belly look like something from Alien. I don't mean I actually want another baby. Or at least I don't think I do. Not now anyway. But I do reserve the right to change my mind. TG looked utterly horrified when I told him how I felt and started muttering about two being enough, and that is what we agreed, and he wants to get the snip. Spoil sport.

We went to Boo's dance show today - 3 hrs of precocious children with blue eyeshadow (yes, even the three yr olds). Boo was only in it for about 10 mins, and for seven of those we couldn't actually see her, as there were so many kids on stage. Unfortunately, when Boo got to do her number, BB opened up her lungs and screamed for all she was worth. Was mortifying. The music hadn't even started and the whole theatre was silent - they seemed to be waiting for BB to stop before starting the music but it became clear that wasn't going to happen. In the end poor TG had to take her outside and he missed Boo's debut. BB is now utterly exhausted having barely slept all day. She has projectile vommed her last feed all over me (I was soaked through to my underwear, it was lovely) and she screamed for an hour whilst I tried to cuddle her to sleep. Fun fun fun! god I need a drink...

Haha, you are next! Grin

rocketleaf · 27/03/2011 21:00

Yes I was wondering that too. bitey we will just start using our imaginations if you doing spill it. I am currently thinking along these lines but who knows where it could lead...

LadyGoneGaga · 27/03/2011 21:00

Aw fantastic news, Medee. She sounds gorgeous and you sound very much in love already. You did amazingly - back labour is not fun at all, especially with no pool and she came out down the intended hole...who cares if she had a bit of help.

Dissolve a few drops of lavender oil in a little milk and put it into your bath (every day), gently drying area well afterwards (with hairdryer if necessary!) and it really helps soothe and heal the episiotomy.

Hope you are feeling better soon, Macaroonie - sounds horrid.

And hope they can sort you out too, Sprocket as doesn't sound right.

Score you are NEXT. Squeeee!!!!
