Thanks for the pants tip Bprincess! I think I'll be investing in some very big pants in the next few days Grin

We're going away for a night for out honeymoon, so you never know, the marriage may be consummated some time within the year! Grin

moomin156 · 10/03/2011 20:23

bizarre cravings for frujies mandarins in orange jelly at the minute......yummy

NurseSunshine · 10/03/2011 20:24

Moomin love the bag. The baby will really enjoy rubbing ground up rusks into the inner lining and throwing up in it Grin Wink

I'm also peeing every 5 seconds, more so in the morning for some reason which makes walking the 45 minutes to uni quite difficult.

Mummy I have gone up a size in pants as well, haven't bothered with maternity ones just bought bigger sizes. Wouldn't worry too much :) As for the sex thing, I think it's pretty normal for your average preggo to go off it a bit, but in your case, with all the stress of IVF and then the scare of bleeding I'm not surprised it's petered out for you. Have you talked about it? DH might be wanting to but not want to put any pressure on you.

BPrincess I'm looking forward to enjoying a pint in a sunny beer garden, being able to get up from a chair/bend to tie my shoes without straining and turning an unattractive shade of puce, eating a gigantic prawn, brie and goats cheese sandwich and most of all having my baby wriggling in my arms instead of in my tummy (and on my poor bladder!)

moomin156 · 10/03/2011 20:24

yep.....maybe DH will get lucky on our anniversary :)

moomin156 · 10/03/2011 20:26

nurse i think the rusks will make the lovely striped lining more gorgeous :)

8rubberduckies · 10/03/2011 20:39

No sex here either - I have completely lost my mojo and DP is getting pretty fed up about it! We've only done the deed twice since we found out Blush.

Pants - I am bursting out of some of mine, and will just go and buy some in a bigger size, loads cheaper than maternity pants and managed through 1st pregnancy without special pants.

Moomin spend now whilst you can! I didn't think we had that much money when I was pg and on maternity leave, but it's a helluva lot more than we've got now! Grin

Jbells I am also looking forward to the 3 days a week ds will be at the childminders until I drop once I start maternity leave. I was having exactly the same thoughts as you today though, about trying to avoid anything apart from the sofa those precious few days before the shit hits the fan and there's two of them to look after full time Grin. The nesting instinct is a strong thing indeed, and believe me, I am not usually a slave to the duster, but I am concerned that I'm going to end up spending the whole of the time scrubbing!

I am suffering too... breathlessness, dizziness when trying to bend over, weeing a lot. The third trimester has started early for me!!! Smile

BPrincess · 10/03/2011 21:14

Ooh, nurse, a pint in a sunny pub garden! Yes please!

I wonder how long until we'll be able to do that, with our new babies? Couple of weeks? Or am I being too hopeful? It will be June, hopefully sunny... now that's something lovely to aim for.

rubberduckies I've been breathless for a while - it'll be nice to have our usual breath back won't it? Just to walk up a little hill or a flight of steps without feeling the lungs are going to crack open. The joy!

NurseSunshine · 10/03/2011 21:29

Couple of hours BPrincess? Grin

BPrincess · 10/03/2011 21:31

nurse - loving the positive mental attitude!

moomin156 · 10/03/2011 21:37

When my mom was pg with me they had a 37 week pg not a 40 week like us. If thats the case then mine bean is due 29th May........ so i could well be sitting in that beer garden soon :)

moomin156 · 10/03/2011 21:47

and my sister was 3 weeks early based on this figure so that was at our 34 weeks ....... which would be w/c 25th April. Maybe its a good thing i am taking early mat leave LOL

Clarkiee · 10/03/2011 21:55

Had a scan today- generally fine, they have toatlly moved again. Consultant wants me back on Tuesday to do another doppler reading for one somthing to do with umbilical flow- hopefully he's just being extra cautious. He said they would defo keep them in there till 30 weeks but if there was any prob I could have them after that! WHAT 30 weeks thats this bloody month (thinking this is unlikey though)-and it would be too cold to sit in a beer garden.

On the sex subject- I would quite like some but DH is less keen Confused he's been pretty tired and hurt his back in a minor car accident but hope its not because he finds it wierd (which I suspect is part of it). Not much point trying to lure him with sexy underwear at this stage- not sure it would look quite the same Grin.

NurseSunshine · 10/03/2011 22:02

Moomin how strange, I wonder why they changed it to 40 weeks? And why do some things say gestation is 42 weeks? V confusing.

Clarkiee glad all's OK with the babies :) I'm sure the consultant is just being routinely cautious.

moomin156 · 10/03/2011 22:03

Glad the scan went well clarkiee im sure the doppler is nothing to worry about. OMG Shock at 30 weeks, im 28 already. Thats all abit scary considering i dont even have a cot :)

mouffloncake · 10/03/2011 22:03

ttl I like your 1st wedding ani gift. We got married in Venice, what an amazing city!

jasmine I'm self employed too. Due 06/06 & working up to 14/05. I'm a beauty therapist so on my feel most of the day. Its been hard going so far. I will start back part time in September as have weddings booked in already.

4d scan was amazing. I cant stop looking at the photos & keep playing the video. Its really helped me get my head around the position, up until today, I was thinking its bottom was its head lol.

BPrincess · 10/03/2011 22:04

Ooh Clarkiee very exciting that they could be arriving so soon! Glad the scan was generally positive.
But you're right, beer garden in March just wouldn't work...

mouffloncake · 10/03/2011 22:05

clarkiee It's great they are keeping an eye on you, good luck for tuesday.

moomin156 · 10/03/2011 22:05

nurse mom said it was 9 months ( 36 weeks ) from the first day of your last period and they added a week for a 5 week month LOL. It was 40 years ago mind you :)...... but i have to say even i still thought you were pg for 9 months not 10 LOL

Clarkiee · 10/03/2011 22:07

Thanks nurse he said that I was 'hard to scan' so think he'd like more time to check it- having said that it won't be him (he doesn't work Tuesdays) so maybe he wants a second opinion. He didn't seem too worried so I'm not (especially as its changes nothing).

Oh and un baby related comment- WHY DOES BUYING A HOUSE TAKE SO BLOODY LONG!!!!!! Angry. They want to sell it and we want to buy it so morgage/legal people hurry up- I'm on a tight schedule here!

OP posts:
Clarkiee · 10/03/2011 22:10

Thanks BPrincess and moufflon Grin. Erm not sure my first feeling will be of excitement if they come this month princess Grin but I'm sure they won't anyway.

NurseSunshine · 10/03/2011 22:12

Moomin, yup it is generally accepted that one is pregnant for 9 months but it's bloody TEN, people!!!! We're getting jipped out of a whole month of sympathy and understanding!

Clarkiee, it's probs just that one of the little rascals was in a funny position or something then. And as moufflon said, great that they're keeping an eye out.

Have no idea how stressful it must be being pregnant with twins AND buying a house at the same time! It was hard enough for me just moving into another rented one. I will send you a (virtual) back rub :)

Clarkiee · 10/03/2011 22:18

Thanks fo rthe rub nurse Grin.
Generally try not to think about the house move, luckily we have lots of family and friends who have offered to help and I am defo going to be taking them up on the offer!

Yay Friday tomorrow Grin

Staying with friends this weekend looking forward to it x

stupidly long post alert

Evening ladies. barbie, sorry I haven't got back to you sooner. Are you feeling a bit more perky today? Unfortunately, yes, I have got bigger earlier with each pregnancy. But in answer to the question you posed on another thread, the births have got progressively easier. Are you absolutely determined to do this thesis before the baby arrives? If so, you need to have a serious think about when you are able to study - don't count evenings because you'll be too tired to work properly. If you add up how much time you think it will take you to complete and then add 50% for study time that gets eaten up by something else, is it still realistic? I'm not trying to put you off, I did all of my Postgrad Diploma (most of an MA) either pregnant or with tiny children and I had to take a year off at some point. If after looking at the time frame it is actually completely unlikely you will get it done, then tell your tutor soon, put all your books in a big box and forget about it for a bit. You won't be the first person to have to admit they've bitten off more than they can chew. I was so relieved when I finally acknowledged that I was never in a thousand years going to write a dissertation and get an MA. (Stuff them I have an MBiochem anyway :))

With regard to help, you are so lucky to have your mum on the doorstep. I am sure she would be horrified to think that you were soldiering on when she could be giving you a hand. Now is not the time to be proud. If anyone asks if they can help me, I usually ask for a freezable meal, or a weekday afternoon babysit so I can sleep.

I am still envious that your DS can walk - mine is teasing me by occasionally balancing. Does he sleep much in the day? I always put a dvd on for the DDs when he sleeps and go and lie down myself. I remember when I was pg with DS waking to the sound of DD1 asking DD2, 'How many breadsticks do you want?' I have put the breadsticks where she can reach them without having to climb on the kitchen units now. They are remarkably resourceful - a useful life skill, I think.

Anyway, enough waffle - you'll be fine, I remember feeling so much less tired after the birth than before - really!

moomin The Radley dog easily recognised by my DD2 (3.5). Another useful skill. My mum was saying that her Radley purse was looking a bit worn out and that she might buy a new one. DD2 immediately asked, 'What will you do with the old one?', my mum replied, 'What would you like me to do?' and the ever tactful DD2 said, 'Well, you have to decide, really'. And would not be drawn any further - she'll go far.

Getting slightly jealous of the talk of maternity leave - 8rd was it you that considered working up to the day you drop because days off with your DS were so intense? Do you think I could persuade the government to pay me a bit of MA so I can put the snortpigs in nursery a few days a week? No, thought not. I know that really I have it very easy, because if I decide we are going to have a pyjama day, we just have one.

clarkiee it is just about warm enough to sit in a beer garden on some days now. But I hope your babies decide to hang on for a proper sunny day :) I think about beer/wine/gin far more than is healthy.

Sex here is just comedic because of the bump. But I can see why people would want to avoid it all together (no, actually, I can't - that's probably why all my DC's are so close in age)

We ended up with a late supper because the Sainsbury's man came at story time and then DD's helped put everything away. Tis getting past my bedtime.

jasmine and lisa Wednesday afternoon is good. Can we do Benson, though as mine all love ducks. 3.30?

Night night
