stupidly long post alert
Evening ladies. barbie, sorry I haven't got back to you sooner. Are you feeling a bit more perky today? Unfortunately, yes, I have got bigger earlier with each pregnancy. But in answer to the question you posed on another thread, the births have got progressively easier. Are you absolutely determined to do this thesis before the baby arrives? If so, you need to have a serious think about when you are able to study - don't count evenings because you'll be too tired to work properly. If you add up how much time you think it will take you to complete and then add 50% for study time that gets eaten up by something else, is it still realistic? I'm not trying to put you off, I did all of my Postgrad Diploma (most of an MA) either pregnant or with tiny children and I had to take a year off at some point. If after looking at the time frame it is actually completely unlikely you will get it done, then tell your tutor soon, put all your books in a big box and forget about it for a bit. You won't be the first person to have to admit they've bitten off more than they can chew. I was so relieved when I finally acknowledged that I was never in a thousand years going to write a dissertation and get an MA. (Stuff them I have an MBiochem anyway :))
With regard to help, you are so lucky to have your mum on the doorstep. I am sure she would be horrified to think that you were soldiering on when she could be giving you a hand. Now is not the time to be proud. If anyone asks if they can help me, I usually ask for a freezable meal, or a weekday afternoon babysit so I can sleep.
I am still envious that your DS can walk - mine is teasing me by occasionally balancing. Does he sleep much in the day? I always put a dvd on for the DDs when he sleeps and go and lie down myself. I remember when I was pg with DS waking to the sound of DD1 asking DD2, 'How many breadsticks do you want?' I have put the breadsticks where she can reach them without having to climb on the kitchen units now. They are remarkably resourceful - a useful life skill, I think.
Anyway, enough waffle - you'll be fine, I remember feeling so much less tired after the birth than before - really!
moomin The Radley dog easily recognised by my DD2 (3.5). Another useful skill. My mum was saying that her Radley purse was looking a bit worn out and that she might buy a new one. DD2 immediately asked, 'What will you do with the old one?', my mum replied, 'What would you like me to do?' and the ever tactful DD2 said, 'Well, you have to decide, really'. And would not be drawn any further - she'll go far.
Getting slightly jealous of the talk of maternity leave - 8rd was it you that considered working up to the day you drop because days off with your DS were so intense? Do you think I could persuade the government to pay me a bit of MA so I can put the snortpigs in nursery a few days a week? No, thought not. I know that really I have it very easy, because if I decide we are going to have a pyjama day, we just have one.
clarkiee it is just about warm enough to sit in a beer garden on some days now. But I hope your babies decide to hang on for a proper sunny day :) I think about beer/wine/gin far more than is healthy.
Sex here is just comedic because of the bump. But I can see why people would want to avoid it all together (no, actually, I can't - that's probably why all my DC's are so close in age)
We ended up with a late supper because the Sainsbury's man came at story time and then DD's helped put everything away. Tis getting past my bedtime.
jasmine and lisa Wednesday afternoon is good. Can we do Benson, though as mine all love ducks. 3.30?
Night night
