If anyone is registered (or wants to register) with Groupon you can buy a £20 asos voucher for £9. And if you are with topcashback you get 6% at groupon plus I had a £6 referal voucher so paid £3 for £20 voucher.

Just need to decide what to buy. For all you who have shopped there and recommended hints gratefully received. Was thinking something summery but suitable for work if I need to go in and look semi-professional! Not hard to please me.

Hello- wow we are a chatty bunch 50+ messages in less than 24 hours Grin.

Sorry you have been feeling crappy Barbie. I can bend but when it comes to crouching I have to spread my legs very wide so my bump can fit in the space between my legs.

I'm getting a lot of 'wow your bump is small- especially for twins' comments- what do they expect!?! My friend from Uni came up at the weekend and when I walked in the room she said 'oh my god I'm really disappointed I thought you'd be massive' ha ha erm cheers. There is still plenty of time to get super huge!!!

Hi Calgary I'm 28 weeks pregnant as of this weekend. Are you having identical or non-identical twins? Mine are identical girls Grin. My belly button isn't an outie or and innie its kinda level now. It sounds very strange but when you look at my belly button upside down it looks like a smilie face (cause of the dark bits) Smile hard to explain. Think I'll have to attach a picture to my profile thing!

Evening everyone........Barbie i can sympathise with the bending, my bump is so solid that i have to crouch not bend now or even get on my knees.

I cant believe you are all working for so many more weeks....i know i have an active, busy stressfull job but im not the only one and any job must be getting difficult now. I think i must be the first person to be going on maternity leave.....then the bean will be late so i will be a lady of leisure for weeks.Grin

Barbie big sympathies coming your way (but is it wrong to say your rant made me chuckle?) Does sound like it's worth checking out with the mw though. Hope things improve. If it's worth anything, I had a real downer stage a couple of weeks ago when everything hurt and I just couldn't imagine another 3 months like that, but now, at 29 + 3 I'm feeling a lot better. Rediscovered the sleep groove (chucked out the rubbish 'special' pillow that cost me £30, in a midnight rage and went to normal pillow between knees, small cushion in lower back). And I've just accepted it and slowed down a - A LOT. Though with all your other commitments I can see how that is tough.... We will get there though, and it'll be worth it!

Jasmine I too am also clenching. Though perhaps not for long. At pregnancy pilates the other day, teacher mentioned that very soon I'd not be able to 'engage' the pelvic floor and actually in the last couple of months we should be concentrating on softening it and making sure we can relax it, to help with the birth. Confused Has anyone else been told this?

Lisascat very well done indeed for not killing your mother. Definitely earned a little glass of something treatful.

I am cold-ridden. Does anyone know if it affects the baby in any way. Him indoors says not, and that that is what the placenta is for. I'm not so sure. If I have a cold, doesn't baby have a bit of a cold too?

Just waiting for our Chinese takaway to arrive... Grin

Evening all, just had an interesting conversation with DD, and thought I'd share. It's a very valuable reminder of just how much they're hearing and soaking up. (reminder: she's 3 1/2)

Every time my mother visits she brings one of the multi-packs of little fromage frais pots. Yesterday she mentioned that DD had told her she's not allowed those anymore. I was a bit confused, as I've certainly never told DD she can't eat them. Just now, completely out of the blue, DD says that she told nana not to bring those yoghurts anymore. I asked her why she had said that. So DD reminds me that I had said to daddy "I wish my mother would stop buying these yoghurts" (word-for-word) about 3 weeks ago. The context of that conversation was that I was complaining about the fact that my mother buys the pack of 18 pots, DD can't eat them all before the use by date, and I really hate throwing food away. DD obviously just heard that sentence, assumed I meant I wished nana wouldn't buy them because I don't want DD to eat them, so 3 weeks later tells nana she's not allowed them anymore.

They are like bloody sponges. I have to stop saying anything in DD's earshot. Or learn to speak Spanish.

moomin156 · 09/03/2011 20:15

LOL Lisa........think spanish may be a good idea, thats impressive interpretation of a conversation :)

Report
NurseSunshine · 09/03/2011 20:37

Ah but 3 1/2 is probably the perfect age to learn another language by osmosis or something and she will end up fluent in Spanish. Which isn't a bad thing but maybe defeats the purpose!

Clenching...and relaxing.....

Hello everyone, thanks for the new thread clarkiee.

I'm grumpy, feeling like poo and have just consumed my bodyweight in maoam, so now I feel sick too. Although, reading about lisas' DD's petit filous has made me quite fancy a yogurt! I have PILED on the lbs these past few weeks, have never in my life been more than 9 1/2 stone and yesterday's weigh-in had the needle teetering just this side of 11. Well, the eating is about the only thing that's enjoyable, so I sure ain't gonna stop!

Jealous of you ladies who lunch (and feed ducks), I don't have any pregnant or mummy friends :(

Someone called your ladies a 'chatty bunch'! I knew I'd not been on for a while but not only have I missed 30 odd pages I've also missed another entire thread!!

I'm sorry but I haven't got a hope of catching up on all what's been happening. I trust you are all generally well? I've had a few 'massive' comments recently but seeing as this is my third I'm not really surprised.

The one thing that has been on my mind the last month though is how 'swollen' I am down below. Sometimes it feels like my entire under carriage is trying to get out. I do have swollen veins but the pressure sometimes is really bad. I've read that it's normal, blah blah but it really does get quite bad sometimes.

Baby's kicks are getting quite strong aswell now, it seems unusually low down but like I said it is my 3rd pregnancy so maybe that's why.

My DS keeps asking when baby is going to be ready. He knows it won't be until june but that concept of months is still a bit much for him to get his head around.

I know he's going to be a great big brother but my 15month old DD I'm not so sure about. She thinks it's great fun to slap people round the face and does have a bit of a violent streak to her. She is quite little and absolutely everyone comments on what a delicate little flower she is, oh how wrong they are! She is definitely beautiful but she is also exceptionally strong both physically and mentally! If she wants something she'll do her very best to get it!

Now I'm starting to babble. Hope you ladies are all well, I'll try and check in a bit more often from now on. I did have a wobbly month or two, worrying about the future etc but I seem to have got my head around it now and am actually looking forward to it all.

Mummy... When they checked the stocks for your dress did they check the shops too??? We have a Pretty Pregnant shop up here - I am going shopping on Saturday so could pop my head into the shop and see if they have it.

I have mostly been ok. Bad back still but hoping the yoga will help and also have been referred to physio too. Have an appointment with a consultant tomorrow as they need to make sure my kidney condition won't interfere with the delivery and that I am low risk. Fingers crossed I am considered low risk as then I can deliver in the midwife led unit.

Hope everyone else is well and keeping those pelvic floor exercises up :)

Not much pelvic clenching here to be honest. Lots of hip rocking that must make me look a right dodgey loon in public, but feels so good!

Some one mentioned eggs beans and chip many posts back and I've been thinking of fried eggs ever since.. Shall have some for lunch later me thinks. Kinda over chocolate though. Had to much sweet stuff recently and now really want savory things. Mmm pie... Ohh bacon and egg pie!!!!!!

I shoud go have breakfast, as I'm clearly hungry and food obsessed.

kara thanks for that link - quite an eye opener. Worrying level of assisted births at my local hosp but more interesting is that its not actually my nearest hospital! There is one nearer but its in another county so I assume thats why I've not been allocated that one.

Sounds like an Epsom group of ladies is in the making. My parents are actually in Ewell, and I was born in Stoneleigh. In fact when I cant get to sleep I imagine myself walking around the Stoneleigh Broadway I knew when I was growing up, remembering all the shops and what they looked and smelled like. If a group wants to meet up at Ganache in Ewell at any time I'm game, I can combine with a visit to mums.

MW appointment today...and Ive actually remembered to pee in the pot when I got up...gold star to me. Also last day of builders for a while...yay, can start dusting and cleaning!

Have a good day x

nmcb egg and bacon pie sounds lovely, where can i get my hands on some? I'm still eating lots at the minute, I work in a shop and keep coming home at the end of the day with reduced cakes and pastries which me and my husband munch but I'm not putting on weight and he is, his bump is currently bigger than mine! he wants me to stop but when I see a whole cherry pie for 20p I can't resist the bargain. Fruit and veg are strangers to me at the moment, apart from the fruit in those fat filled pies, and a bit of broccoli on the side of a massive portion of bangers and mash.

I wish the weather would warm up a bit soon so I start fancying salads and lighter foods. The only place I seem to be gaining weight is on my fat sausage fingers, my wedding rings are nearly too tight :(

8 I haven't smoked at all for aroung 5 years and even before that it was only really the occasional one but I walked past someone smoking in the street yesterday and suddenly really felt like a cigarette! You're doing so well though, it must be really tough to give up while you're pregnant. Smile

I would have the odd glass of wine or beer but of course they're both on the enormous list of things that make me gag just thinking about! I'm not sure if that's good or bad though.

moomin I think it's paper for 1st anniversary, or is it cotton... Sorry I'm not being much help am I! I'll have a think. Congratulations though, I hope you have a great night away.

Halle Thanks for the Serephine link, I went to one of their shops at the weekend and wasn't really very impressed with them. The clothes look great on the website but when I tried them on they dresses were seethrough and made of really cheap polyester type material.

Neenewps They tell me they've checked all the shops and they don't have any and I phoned the shops close to me, it's really kind of you to offer to look though. I've got the dress from ebay which should hopefully arrive early next week and the back up dress (which I may have decided I like more than the origional!) is on it's way. So I may have a choice of 3!

moufflon hope the scan goes well!
