Hello,
Started a new thread ladies, fingers crossed it works xx

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
ConfessionsOfAnAchingFanjo · 24/03/2011 10:20

I remember you joining the thread Nomoreheels because I used to be NoMoreChocBiscuits and rather liked that there was another Nomore due around the same time as me. I've obviously name changed since then Grin Welcome back.

KaraStarbuckThrace · 24/03/2011 10:28

I have had a bad stomach ache on and off for a couple of days, it is worse today.
It is hurting at the moment.
I have rung Comm MW, who advised me to ring Labour Unit. They advised me to see my GP today. Rung GP have to ring back at 11:30am and see if they have any appointments this afternoon.

I think baby is fine, plenty of movements still but stomach pain keeps coming and going and is bad :(

Milliemuffin · 24/03/2011 10:42

Kara I had that last week and the week before but (touches wood) so far seem ok this week. Hope you feel better soon xx

Moog72 · 24/03/2011 10:56

Nurse the miswifes are very supportive of hb thankfully. Where I live has one ofthe highest hb rates in the country. haven't done much reading yet - DH had a homebirth with is DD from first marriage so I am kind of relying on him to know what he is doing! Are you planning on a pool? I am not sure whether to or not. DH reckong the pool will be too heavy for our floorboards - not sure if he is just trying to deter me from it so he doesn't have to be repsonsible for filing it up / maikign it the right tempoerature etc though!

I still have 9 more weeks of work - aaargh. Anyone else working until quite late on??

Milliemuffin · 24/03/2011 10:58

Jasmine He went this morning and I did fish around but it definitely wasn't in there. I had to ask the teachers at school to make sure he goes on a potty if he needs to and to save it for me in a bag for me to look through at home Blush

nomoreheels · 24/03/2011 11:01

sasamaxx I'm sure I can, will sort it out after it's all done. He's quite artistic (I've already seen some of his wife) so I know it won't be a Demi Moore type thing. Grin

Confessions - no pregnancy brain for you then! Well remembered. I will have to change my name after DD arrives as I certainly want to get back into wearing heels...

Milliemuffin · 24/03/2011 11:04

Moog we had the same concern when we got our birthing pool for DS 4 years ago as we've got wooden floors but the inflatable ones are so much lighter and cheaper aswell. If it doesn't get used this time then we'll just use it as a paddling pool instead. I did use it with DS and it was lovely (birthpoolinabox) but due to his big head we had to transfer in and out came the forceps (ouch!!).

crumbletastic · 24/03/2011 11:13

Brilliant list Barbie but I'm a bad mummy as I only had about a third of the stuff on that list and just 'made do' with most stuff. The only thing I would say against it is some hospitals ban vaseline on the lips if you are on pure oxygen/entonox as risk of imflamation (not that there is evidence of anyone being burnt in this way/elf n safety gorn mad /daily mail rant) but unless you know your hospital trust allows it then a non petroleum based lipbalm is best.

Interesting fact about the umbilical cord cutting kara, I've never heard of/considered a non-managed 3rd stage but will do a bit of reading into it. Have you done this before/how easy is it to get the midwives to not try to talk you out of it?

KaraStarbuckThrace · 24/03/2011 11:29

I had a managed 3rd stage with DS. I have come across this before I read Ina May's Guide to Childbirth (where it is discussed), I have a feeling it was discussed at my NCT antenatal classes.

did find this

here's another interesting article

takethatlady · 24/03/2011 11:57

supersunny you poor thing - what a scare! I hope your feet are okay today and am so glad your LO is unscathed. Usually it's only us who get hurt!

Hey nomoreheels. By the way, are you wearing heels? I am still wearing them. But I look increasingly ridiculous. It's one of my only remaining strategies against impending frumpdom, along with jumper dresses which are getting ever-shorter as my bump expands, and hair dye.

KaraStarbuckThrace · 24/03/2011 12:40

Got appt with GP at 1:30pm. I'm sure I will be told everything is fine, take it easy Smile

Supersunnyday - I have missed your post about you falling How are you feeling today, are you resting up? How scary for you!

8rubberduckies · 24/03/2011 12:44

Hope everything is ok Kara, let us know Smile

nomoreheels · 24/03/2011 12:46

Takethat I can't, they make me poor feet ache. Gutted. Sad

crazychic141187 · 24/03/2011 13:00

Hi all im very new to the site but thought id say hello seeing as my little one is due 7th June!!xx

jasmine51 · 24/03/2011 13:02

Hi Crazy How are things going for you? Everything fine? Is this your first?

crazychic141187 · 24/03/2011 13:10

hi this is my first and I really don't think I am ready for her arrival!

Everything seems OK at the minute except I'm reading that people know what position the baby is in and I haven't been told anything like that so I have no idea where abouts she is! people ask me is that her head and I'm like I have no idea!

sasamaxx · 24/03/2011 13:57

Did I miss a post about supersunnyday's fall too???
Hope you're recovering well.
Welcome crazychick
Hope everything went well at the GP Kara

I have spent today stripping prams, washing fabrics and replacing them - both to get them cleaned up for the new arrival, and to get the old double ready for sale Smile

CMH1stbaby · 24/03/2011 14:46

YAY am just about to leave work for the final time - one more uni day tomorrow and then my study leave / maternity leave starts! maybe at last I will get round to all the baby prep things I'm hearing others have done..

knackered76 · 24/03/2011 14:59

Okay super quick message as I have to go and pick up my little munchkins and friends (a quiet afternoon ahead of me then!).

Millie I was told he had to have a scan incase it got stuck somewhere. Apparently there is one place it can get stuck in and they like to check it has passed there. I would say it probably hasn't seeing as it's been a while! DS did have a scan though and they couldn't see a thing!

Crazychic welcome and don't worry about not being ready, don't think may of us are!

Kara Hope all okay with you and yes I do vaguely remember that one. I tried it with ds but found the pressure on my bump too uncomfortable, but then I am lazy and probably wasn't holding myself properly Grin!

Supersunny Hope you're feeling okay and the bruises are going down. You'll have to be extra slow going up and down stairs now!

Barbie Had completely forgotten about the list of things we need, although the last 2 times we have managed to wonder into hospital without the bag at all . . . . oh and the second time that included my notes Grin

Over and out, have lovely afternoons all Grin

KaraStarbuckThrace · 24/03/2011 15:36

Everything is fine, been checked out at the hospital by a lovely MW. Been given some painkillers, she think it might just be a bug.
Baby is definitely staying put for now I still have to buy the cot!

OompaLumpa · 24/03/2011 15:47

Hi All, i havent checked in here for a good long while so thought i would say hello. I'm not due till 25 June so some way off but having been having a bit of a rough time of it - been in hospital twice with 2 chest infections and boss at work has been really horrible and i walked out just before my first hospital admission.

Am currently planning on going back to work on monday to face the music but quite stressed about it all. still seem to be somewhat in denial that i am pg and spend a lot of time thinking about it all, as in will i cope, how will i know what to do and worrying about failing i guess!

i do have a lovely MW though who i am due to see tomorrow they want me to think about a CS delivery due to by lung problems. am i the only one who wishes they could just switch the "off" button on their brain for a while?!

xx

jasmine51 · 24/03/2011 15:53

kara thats great news, take it easy
Im back from my hosp checkup too - bit of a surprising outcome is that I have been given an induction date! I have total faith in the consultant there and she doesnt want me to go beyond due date if possible due to the markers I have for PE and the blood supply issues that could indicate early placental breakdown. I know alot of people get precious about inductions but maybe naively I trust the experts and will do whatever I need to to optimise the health of myself and bub. Its just a bit of a shock to be given a date to focus on thats all! Can guarantee I will be eating hot curries, jumping up and down and wolfing pineapples before that date though. Shame the sex option will be off the menu since DH has decided to be a complete shithead today though.

Unpacked the last of the boxes of donated baby stuff today - arent people lovely? I think Ive just about got everything in there...including 8 gro bags for some reason! Have been playing with the breast pump too...Shock mooo!

Crazy I think the reason so many of us know the position of our babies is because quite a few of us are having close monitoring and/or are at our 28 wk checkups. I get monitored every 2 wks so get told every time that hes head down and ready for launch.....but not just yet please!

jasmine51 · 24/03/2011 15:56

oompa Sad at your issues - look after yourself first and foremost. Sending you nice chilled thoughts x

KaraStarbuckThrace · 24/03/2011 15:58

Great news about the date, Jasmine - so how long have you got to go then?

Oompa - welcome back, sorry things have been tough at work for you Sad Hope you get plenty of rest in the meantime. Have you been given a date for a possible CS, or is it still under discussion?

jasmine51 · 24/03/2011 16:17

kara induction to be started on 12th June so not way ahead of EDD on 15th...but watch this space...I have every faith that DS will make an appearance before then...just not too soon hopefully.
