Hello ladies ? bit nerve wracking moving over to ante natal but thought I?d be brave! Here?s to a trouble free 8 or so months for us all! And hoping lots more of us move over very soon.

Step away from your thermometers ladies. That way madness lies.

Sits back. Feels a bit lonely. Waits for others.

Raven I am so so Sad for you. I hope there is someone at home taking care of you right now. ((hugs)) xxx

ravenlocks · 28/03/2011 18:40

Thanks spilt. Yip one at 17 weeks and now 2 at 5 ish weeks. Apart from age (32) I am low risk in every other way so it is either shocking luck or there is something wrong that isn't obvious from outside Iyswim. Hope to be back with you again and eventually to carry a pg to term. All the best to all of you lovely ladies and bumps.
XXX

Pippaandpolly · 28/03/2011 19:25

So sad to hear your news, Raven Sad. Thinking of you and your DP.

Please don't give up hope - I hope with the investigations and proper treatment you will get there in the end. It's such a heartbreaking time xxx

nickstermum · 28/03/2011 19:49

Raven i am gutted for you pal :( so sorry you are going through this again.

Have you already had or considered testing? There is a really good fred called Recurrent Buns on the MC boards... i have lurked for a long time... they are full of knowledge and many are now gradding after controlled/medicated pregnancies.. why dont you give them a tinkle once you feel up to it?

So sorry that this has happened again xxx be kind to yourself xxx

Pippaandpolly · 28/03/2011 19:54

I feel bad posting this when things are so bad for others at the moment, but I'm a bit scared and just hoping for some reassurance.

(Apologies if it's tmi.)

I've had yellowy discharge since the beginning of my pregnancy (well, since conception, so about 12 weeks), which I thought was just a symptom of being pregnant, but since Saturday have had some pink spotting in there too. There's also a pretty unpleasant smell, sort of like biscuits. (Sorry Blush) Of course last night I googled this combination and everything that came up said infection leading to miscarriage, so I freaked out and saw the GP first thing this morning, who took a swab and is sending me to EPADs tomorrow morning to have a scan. She's told me to take an overnight bag in case they want to keep me in, which hasn't really helped my stress levels, though I appreciate the heads up. I'm so scared that I've had an infection since the beginnin, and having foolishly ignored it thinking that it was a normal symptom, have done some harm to the baby. I know that if I miscarry now I will blame myself, which DH is upset about, which makes me feel worse. Has anyone ever had these symptoms and been OK?

nickstermum · 28/03/2011 20:19

Pippa dont stress too much lovely. It could just be the natural flora a bit off balance, that can cause yellowy/smelly discharge. What are they looking at BV? (bacterial vaginosis?) that comes more with a fishy smell though and is itchy. (linked to prem early labour not MC)

I have been to and froing to the doctors since my MC as i have had 3 bacterial infections since then. I have had symptoms. I went back to GP at 10 weeks or so and the GP took one look down there and said yep def got an infection, but the swab was clear... and so far everything is fine. She also reassured me that an infection wouldnt cause MC, although i think she maybe realised i needed reassurance.

Let me know how you get on x

Pippaandpolly · 28/03/2011 20:31

Thanks Nickster - I'm just so nervous. She didn't say what infection they were looking for, just to call on Thursday for the results. I've never had any infection apart from cystitis before, so I don't know what to expect really. (Can you have antibiotics while pregnant?) Sorry to hear you've been suffering too - though good that the swab was clear. Also good that your GP said infection wouldn't cause miscarriage - that's what's really panicking me. GP was so lovely and reassuring but I really wish she'd just got a doppler out; I don't know how I'm going to sleep tonight waiting for tomorrow.

Anyway, sorry for rambling. I really appreciate you replying - thank you :)

nickstermum · 28/03/2011 21:05

Can you contact your mw? For a Doppler fix? Yes you can have abs. I had them for strep a at 7 weeks pg x

Ring your mw tomorrow, but if you are only 12 weeks it's a bit early xx

GetDownYouWillFall · 29/03/2011 09:37

Sorry to hear you are worried pippa. Hopefully it is nothing. I agree with nix try and ring mw and have a chat to them about it. You must be about 14 weeks by now so should be able to pick up the heartbeat.

Scan this morning showed everything's ok thank God. She said they couldn't explain the spotting but said to avoid sex, so I wonder if it's related! Thanks for your reassuranc and logic-it's always hard to find it in myself.

GetDownYouWillFall · 29/03/2011 10:32

So pleased to hear that pippa . Bet it was nice to see the little bean as well!

OP posts:
nickstermum · 29/03/2011 10:44

Good stuff pipsqueakx
maybe you have a friable cervix rubbed by sex? quite common in pg.
See what the swab test shows, they will just treat you if you have a little infec. Something i am realising is that goo of all rainbow colours seems to be the norm during pg!!

Waves to all xxxx

MrsArchchancellorRidcully · 29/03/2011 11:10

Raven I am so very sorry for you. :( Hope you get the support and advice you need.

Pippa I am glad scan showed all was OK. Here's hoping for a more uneventful few months :)

Iwish · 29/03/2011 11:26

Hi ladies. Sorry I have been away so long, just so lazy hehe.

raven sorry to hear your news, I'm so sorry honey, live and hugs to you xx

pippa glad the scan showed everything is ok - avoiding sex it is xx

Hope everyone else Is ok? Xx

Went for my scan yesterday, all was well, little bubba kept jumping around for the sonographer. As soonas she showed me the screen I just burst into tears it was amazing. They have moved my date forward too, they said bubba measured 13 week not 12 - not sure how lol. I have put a pic on my profile x

LadyGoneGaga · 29/03/2011 11:34

Lovely scan news from Pip and Iwish*.

Iwish they moved my dates forward by 4 days too - which is odd as obviously was charting. But less time to wait! I would put off induction for as long as possible anyway at the end.

I've ben a bit lazy with posting too. Hope everyone is ok aprt from Raven's very sad news. Me and the bub are fine. Am a bit huge though and going to punch the next person who asks me whether I'm sure it's not twins in the face. You have been warned!!! Have a midwife appt tomorrow so hopefully will see if I really am big for dates (or just a bit fat!). Can definitely feel the baby moving round lots now too and from the outside. House still not sold but had a lot of interest so fingers crossed - have found a few lovely houses we like to buy but sod's law they will have gone by the time we sell ours!

Been having a bit of pelvic pain too, like I've been kicked in the groin, so going to ask the MW about that too.

50 working days left til maternity leave!!!

GetDownYouWillFall · 29/03/2011 12:09

Awwww Iwish just looked at your pics - lovely scan pic Smile Are you going to tell the world now? (You are very pretty BTW!)

It's weird about the moving the dates forward thing, isn't it? Because I have had mine moved too, by virtually the same amount as you guys. Also happened to me with DD, and I was charting then too so also knew exactly when I'd ov'd. I wonder if their due date calcs are a bit "off" by a few days based on size measurements.

Don't worry about the huge comments lady* at least you are obviously pregnant! I am at that awkward "is she pregnant / is she just really fat" stage Blush There are quite a few diff teams at work and I'm sure some people are looking at me thinking I've just put on quite a lot of weight lately! Lovely you can feel the baby move from the outside now too! Can't wait for that. I am nearly 16 weeks and just can't wait for some definite movements now.

Sorry about the pelvic pain, maybe just ligaments stretching? I sneezed yesterday and the pain in my abdomen was awful!

GetDownYouWillFall · 29/03/2011 12:11

Oooo sorry about all the bold Confused

OP posts:
Iwish · 29/03/2011 13:34

50 days lady wow! Not long! Sorry about the pelvic pain, sounds painful.
All inall they have moved my date 7 days. That would mean i ov'd on cd10 butit was usually 16/17. Strange. Like you said tho quicker to see the little one x

Thanks getdown Blush blushing now. I'm so pleased with the pic, it's so clear. I have told the world now, everyone is so happy. Hope you are feeling ok? X

Guessing gender now! Mum and my bro think girl, so do a few people at work.

GetDownYouWillFall · 30/03/2011 09:37

Are you going to find out the gender Iwish?

OP posts:
Iwish · 30/03/2011 10:40

MornIng getdown yeh we will find out. We are both too impatient to wait until the birth. We want to get blue/pink things too.
Will you find out?

GetDownYouWillFall · 30/03/2011 10:49

Not sure yet! Am so undecided. DH definitely wants to find out. We did with DD, and it was lovely to know in advance. But part of me just wants to know what it feels like to experience the surprise at birth IYSWIM, as I think we will stop at two DC so this is likely to be my last pregnancy.

It is lovely knowing though - you can also refine your choices for names!

OP posts:
Iwish · 30/03/2011 11:05

I know that you mean about the surprise, I bet it Is nice having a surprise (if you can control yourself lol). Maybe just decide when you get to the scan, you might find it's easier to say you don't want to know if you havnt already made up your mind.
I want to have everything organised so I think knowing the sex kind of fits in with that. We have our names picked out so just need the baby to fill the name :)

Have you got names in mind already?

GetDownYouWillFall · 30/03/2011 11:18

Yeah I know what you mean. I am secretly hoping the baby is in a position where we can't see the sex Grin But DH is adamant he wants to know if we can find out.

I am like you in that I like to be organised in advance, and so knowing the sex is good for that. I've got absolutely TONNES of baby girl clothes (didn't want to get rid of them in case we had another girl) so it would be quite convenient in some ways if we had another girl, but I would also love to have a boy. I think DH would be a brilliant role model for a boy Smile.

We've got a few ideas on names but nothing definite yet. DH likes quite traditional (what I would call "boring" names!!) but I like slightly more unusual ones - not wacky but just not very common. DD's name we both like as it is classic but not very common. It was a good choice for both of us. Not sure how we will manage to find another one we both like!

I am really stuck on boys' names as I don't really like any of them Blush
