Hello ladies ? bit nerve wracking moving over to ante natal but thought I?d be brave! Here?s to a trouble free 8 or so months for us all! And hoping lots more of us move over very soon.

Step away from your thermometers ladies. That way madness lies.

Sits back. Feels a bit lonely. Waits for others.

I think our names are kind of traditional - lucy and joshua. Seems like you have a task ahead of you for names lol! Have you been looking through all the names books?
Yeh good idea to keep DD's clothes just in case. I will be doing that for when we eventually decide to have no2.

spilttheteaagain · 30/03/2011 19:59

Evening all,

Hope you are all well. raven if you're still reading, I'm still thinking of you. Hope the GP has been helpful.

Nothing much to report here, a few twitches ... scratch that, just been kicked as I type! Some twitches and a couple of kicks Grin from the little one. I can't wait until I can feel the movement with my hand from the outside, but the trouble I is never know when its about to happen!

I am on my 25mg of thyroxine and it is marvellous stuff. I reckon 50 would be better still but it's been a bit of a battle getting the continuous prescription set up for the 25mg so I shall settle into this for a bit before rocking the boat again. But I no longer feel like I am wading through mental soup from the second I wake up! And I have not fallen asleep at any more red traffic lights Blush

Next scan on Monday. Aggh, this is the big one. Specialist and all. Is there any brain damage etc visible? We are holding our breath really and our lives are basically on hold until next week as we have no idea what we may be facing from Monday afternoon. I am fobbing off anyone who wants to arrange anything with us until then. Can't plan! The odds are very much in favour of things being ok, but that in no way diminishes the worrying. I feel very greedy wanting both a live and a healthy baby.

I am impressed a people considering names etc already. I have a feeling that when this baby arrives we'll suddenly remember we were supposed to have thought of some names and give each other a blank look Grin. If it's anything like as torturous as deciding what to have for tea in our house then this baby is likely to be nameless a while...

LadyGoneGaga · 30/03/2011 22:46

Glad the thyroxine is helping, Spilt. They should give you another blood test in a few weeks to see how you are getting on and your needs are likely to increase through the pregnancy anyway so would prob need to increase next time. I can so remember the feeling when I went on Thyroxine...was like having a lightbulb switched on Grin.

I will be thinking of you on Monday - am not surprised you are a bit consumed by it at the moment. And lovely you are getting proper kicks too. I normally find if I put my hand where I just felt one there will often be another one a few moments later.

We are still debating our boys name but I think getting closer! Girls name, and both middle names, are sorted.

nickstermum · 31/03/2011 16:38

all good here xxx just maxed at work xx

Pippaandpolly · 31/03/2011 17:03

I love thinking of names :) My MN nickname is because our surname begins with P and DH has absolutely vetoed Pippa and Polly, my two favourite girls names ever. He doesn't like name alliteration! (I also like Philip - Pip - for a boy, which is out too, dammit!)

spilttheteaagain · 31/03/2011 19:36

Cheers Lady. IIRC it's the 1st and 3rd trimesters that are particularly taxing on the thyroid isn't it? I've got to phone for blood results tomorrow (done on Monday) and then I expect they'll leave it until my 28 week scan and bloods which is actually happening at 27 weeks due to bank holidays, so only 8 weeks away.

At least your baby cooperates and kicks a couple of times in the same place! Mine is a tease Hmm One kick, hide for a bit, another twitch in completely different place, then sleep for 12 hours so I get panicky, then wallop!

Anyone else's appetite gone loopy? I've been feeling so "full" (of baby I think) that I lost interest in meals for a few days and now suddenly I am ravenous and have just had a second dinner. Then it will be cereal and toast in a couple of hours if yesterday is anything to go by. I haven't really put any weight on yet (well about 3lbs) so maybe this is the beginning...

pippa they are lovely names, what a shame that your surname/DH rules them out for babies. Maybe you will have to name some pets in due course so that you at least get to use the names!

I've been mulling names a bit today and I suppose I am a traditionalist really. I like names like Alice, Sophie, Katherine, Thomas, Adam, that sort of thing. Bobbie was a bit out of left field for us, but was part of the not knowing the gender dilemma too. Also when you are naming a baby who has died there are no considerations about names they could grow into/put on CV/go with surname etc etc, it's just what do you like the sound of? And I like it a lot Smile

Pippaandpolly · 02/04/2011 10:47

I always associate names with books and given that Roberta in The Railway Children is brilliant I think Bobbie is lovely too :) I also love Alice and Katherine (particularly Kit as a nickname).

spilttheteaagain · 03/04/2011 17:49

Where the dickens have you all gone??

LadyGoneGaga · 03/04/2011 20:55

Hi Spilt - been away this weekend to see my Mummy for Mother's Day.

How are you doing? the big day tomorrow? What time - will be thinking of you. Be calm though...I bet everything is just fine and it will be lovely to see your baby again.

Thomas is our boys middle name. DS is William so fairly trad also. Name we have picked for a boy is sort of traditional but more unusual I think.

Are you any quieter today, Nix - hopefully you have had a nice chilled weekend.

LadyGoneGaga · 03/04/2011 20:55

Oh, and hope everyone has had a lovely Mother's Day Smile

spilttheteaagain · 03/04/2011 21:45

Hope you had a nice time away Lady Smile

I'm ok thanks, nervous as a very nervous thing but what will be will be and at least we will find out very soon how things look. It's 1.30 tomorrow so I shall be at work for the morning pretending to concentrate!

William is also a lovely name. What excellent taste on this board.

GetDown have you finished work now? That must be lovely.

Hope you are all ok and I shall report back tomorrow.

Pippaandpolly · 04/04/2011 09:23

Hope all goes well today Spilt-thinking of you.

GetDownYouWillFall · 04/04/2011 10:49

Hi all

I've been away for the weekend and just catching up. Had terrible sleep whilst away but had the most blissful night last night back in my own bed - ahhhh. Feel much refreshed! spilt yes indeed I have now finished work! So am enjoying my first monday not at work for quite a while - hurrah.

Just had my 16 week mw appt. Heard the heart beat which I was very happy about as not really been feeling any definite movements. 125 bpm.

spilt hope your appt goes well today.

Love to all of you xxx

Yay for HB GetDown!!

spilt FX for today, thinking of you. xxx

GetDownYouWillFall · 04/04/2011 11:27

Thanks Terrys Grin How are you doing? How many weeks are you now? Did you get your early NHS scan?

OP posts:
TerrysNo2 · 04/04/2011 11:40

Oh yes GetDown I had it on Friday (sorry I think I forgot to update you all Blush) - baby measuring 9+2 so 2 days more than my OV dates and that puts it at 2nd November which is the exact same day as DS was due!!

Saw a lovely HB but only just managed to as it was squirming about so much!! Grin Grin

Telling my mum this weekend and can't wait! Been avoiding her calls though as I am finding it hard to keep the secret! Smile

GetDownYouWillFall · 04/04/2011 11:46

Oh that is so great to hear terrys!! Grin You must have been thrilled. I am a bit Envy that your baby was jumping around - mine has been asleep both at the one I had at 9 weeks and the 13 week one (I think it's a boy as it's very lazy by the look of things Grin)

That's so funny that you're due the same day as your DS was due! How weird! Wouldn't it be strange if they came on the same day too.

Enjoy telling your mum it is a fab moment. Hope you can do it face-to-face as it is wonderful to see their reaction.

spilttheteaagain · 04/04/2011 12:15

Fab news girls on the heartbeats and scans. I am just drinking my bladder full of water before we head off to the hospital. Feel very sick but I know it's just nerves. I've felt the little one moving this morning so am hopeful for a live baby and crossing everything for a healthy one. Catch up soon xx

spilttheteaagain · 04/04/2011 12:15

(GetDown I've now had three scans and not yet seen this one move either!)

LadyGoneGaga · 04/04/2011 13:42

You don't need a full bladder for 20 week scan, Spilt by the way. Good luck!!!!

Great news on scan, Terrys.

I love hearing the hb Getdown!

I've got a growth scan in a couple of weeks (due to anti-thyroid antibodies) so will be good to get that over with as that should give me first indication of whether baby is growing normally. Will be lovely to see him/her again.

spilttheteaagain · 04/04/2011 15:47

They ask for a full bladder here, but I thought it was a bit Hmm too.

Anyway, all looking good here GrinGrin, all organs in the right place and no visible brain or eye damage. Consultant's own words about the toxoplasma "You've had your shit from that one" Grin

Still measuring a bit ahead, and incase anyone's interested (I love the measurements!) baby spilt has HC 180mm, AC 159mm, FL 35.8mm and estimated current weight of 407g. Bless! And is looking like a pink one Smile

I feel very very lucky today. She gave a little yawn when he did a face close up, and then scrunched her fists up and hid her face behind them which was very cute. But since he was trying to look at her eyes it was a little tricky!

Lovely to hear you have a wriggler terrys and I hope you enjoy telling your mum. We'll be phoning our grandparents soon now.

Know what you mean about your own bed GetDown. We were away last weekend and my pelvis was quite achy and I feared it would only get worse, but back home I feel ok again.

So very Grin now. I am half way Smile

LadyGoneGaga · 04/04/2011 17:12

Aw, that's such lovely news, Spilt. I bet you and DH are over the moon and can only imagine just how relieved you feel. I can't believe you are half way already either! I feel like we've all come on a big journey and are starting to get there now. And you'll be able to focus on the name now you know you have a little pink one Grin.

I also hit a milestone yesterday. 24 weeks so my baby is officially viable - if I had him/her tomorrow they would do their damndest to save them. Grin But baby should definitely stay in for another few months please! So at the moment we are thinking Iris Mary for a girl and Franklin Thomas for a boy (nn Frank or Frankie)

Anyway, had better stay in for a few more months as am very unprepared! Am waiting to see whether we will move pre or post birth to get everything sorted. Not good for a pregnant woman who is starting to want to nest! Another house viewing today so fingers crossed. I have found a house we really like but who knows whether it will still be there when we have sold ours.

spilttheteaagain · 04/04/2011 17:29

Also Lady at 24 weeks then you are entitled to your maternity leave whatever happens. It's my next milestone now. The hope of viability and the guarantee of leave!

Mary is a lovely name - also in my mind as a middle name (poss prefaced by Alice or Nicola), but not a first name as is MIL's name. MIL very nice, but I think it would upset my mum.

Ooh difficult to nest in the wrong place! I was scrubbing the extractor hood in the kitchen yesterday and polishing mirrors. I can only assume this is nesting as it is rather uncharacteristic. Good luck with the viewing. At least you can nest by virtue of tidying up for the viewings??

We now have lists of things to organise/do now we reckon we'll probably get a baby. I can box up all the clothes I no longer fit and buy some maternity tops. We need to increase our life insurance and think about guardians and update our wills. And we need to finish decorating the hall/landing/stairs and order a carpet for it (currently gripper rods and chipboard and old bits of floorboard...).

LadyGoneGaga · 04/04/2011 17:48

Mary is my Mum's name - I like middle names that honour people. She's not in the best health (Emphysema) and I think it will mean a lot to her. I named DS after my dad who died when I was 7 months and really sad he never knew that.

Enjoy organising - I am made up for you x

GetDownYouWillFall · 04/04/2011 17:58

I am so pleased all went well spilt must be such a relief Grin

Loving this talk about names. I actually really like DH dad's name, and we are seriously considering it if we have a boy. But not sure, don't want my dad to feel left out.... I am not too keen on my dad's name so not sure I'd even want it as a middle name. Tricky.
