Hello ladies ? bit nerve wracking moving over to ante natal but thought I?d be brave! Here?s to a trouble free 8 or so months for us all! And hoping lots more of us move over very soon.

Step away from your thermometers ladies. That way madness lies.

Sits back. Feels a bit lonely. Waits for others.

Sorry I?ve been a bit quiet, I?m trying to occupy myself with things to stop me from worrying all the time. Unsuccessfully I might add! I?ve had some cramping today which just felt ?wrong? if you see what I mean. Trying not to freak out too much but its so hard.

Hope you?ve had a good weekend with the bear nix!

Glad your scan went well digi. I am having lack of symptoms as well apart from sore boobs. This fluctuates though so when they?re having a non sore time I go into panic mode.

spilt, I?m glad that you got through Friday ok.

Smile for your dark lines and symptoms terrys.

Time for a lovely roast dinner now made by DH. Smile

nickstermum · 28/02/2011 09:05

Bloody bear.... was up late sat and sun blinking scrap-booking! Thank god its gone back today :) Today is my DD and i feel ok, sun is shining so thats a blessing i suppose. Lots to occupy my mind with... not quite sure how i will be when my friends birth announcement goes out later on though x

Hope everyone else has had a fab weekend.

Great to catch up with picckies on bookface, great to put names to faces :) (all gorgeous as i expected Grin)

LadyGoneGaga · 28/02/2011 10:17

Aw Nix - you too lovely.

You are very good with your bear!

Got my first differs yoga sesh tonight - 4 other women from work on that session! Shock

And one (non-pregnant) woman from work felt the need to come over to me this morning to ask me in an incredulous way "How pregant are you? You're huge". Thanks. So bloody rude - I'm only 19 weeks, yes bump is visible and of reasonable size but jesus, if she thinks am huge now will be in for a shock when I'm waddling round the office at 37 weeks!

Hope everyone well today - being too lazy to read back.

nickstermum · 28/02/2011 11:08

Cheeky witch,.. you should have said... what about you y'fat cow?? How pregnant are you? ooops no sorry you are just large arent you?! [evil emoticon]

Grin

Now im sad... hopped onto Bookface, a friend has posted "waiting for news" about my friends section. a little bit raw but not too bad i suppose :)

spilt Shock at your parents! They cant do right or wrong sometimes can they... if they had said you were large, that would have upset you? Easier not to comment... My mum asked me if i was having twins the other day..... Shock

I replied no mum... its poo! Blush

GetDownYouWillFall · 28/02/2011 12:31

spilt I would have thought your parents? comment was a bit insensitive too, I hate comments on bump ? whether too big or too small ? it?s so personal, and it makes you feel bad whichever way either ?Oooo you?re TINY? (ie. Are you actually really pregnant at all?) or ?Oooo, you?re absolutely MASSIVE? (ie. I am shocked and horrified by how big you are). The fact is that some people just show more than others, depending on the way your uterus lies and other factors like how toned your stomach muscles are, how many previous pregnancies etc. and it has no relevance to how big / how well / how healthy the baby is. I wish there was a standard put down that could be adopted in such circumstances to stop these kind of comments! Grin

digi it?s such a stressful time, but remember there is nothing you can do, other than look after yourself which you are obviously already doing. Good that you have another scan soon to reassure you.

Terrys I?m glad to hear you have good strong symptoms Smile Keep it up baby terrys!

MrsP - cramping without blood is usually fine, and just a sign that your uterus is preparing for what is to come ? there is a lot of stretching and accommodating going on down there, we?re bound to feel something from time to time. I know every twinge is terrifying but from what I?ve read, cramping in the first trimester, even painful cramping, is usually completely normal.

nix I?m glad you?ve got rid of the wretched bear! Well done for making the effort with the scrap book. Do you find there is a bit of parental rivalry re. the exciting adventures the bear is taken on??! Grin I?m glad our pre-school doesn?t partake in such nonsense Grin Hope your poo situation sorts itself out soon, can you take, what?s that stuff, is it ducolase? Or something like that.

Lady hope you enjoy your yoga session. I am Envy as I?d love to do one too, but the only one round here is on Friday mornings, and no one to look after DD during that time. Ah well. I have got a yoga DVD but it?s not specifically for use in pregnancy, so don?t want to do any odd moves in case it pulls something it shouldn?t!!

We were woken abruptly this morning by DD shoving a pair of urine soaked pants in our face and saying ?mummy, I did a wee in my pants, here they are? Angry Oh the joy of toddlers.

OP posts:
spilttheteaagain · 28/02/2011 17:26

nix I've been thinking of you today, I hope it's treated you kindly. But if not, come and cry/stamp feet here ((hugs))

GetDown is it lactulose you are thinking of? And yeuck at your DD's knickers!

Thanks for comments re bump comments Smile. I agree no one can do right for doing wrong with these! My feeling is if the mum makes a statement such as "I'm showing/starting to show", "I have a big bump" or "I'm very compact for now" then broadly speaking you would agree with her, yes? If she's happily saying she has a bit of a bump now you would say something like yes, it suits you or somesuch? Not, no you don't. I think that was why I was Angry
Obviously at 15 weeks I do not have a whopping 8 month bump, it is fairly small, but it's definitely there now. I think I need to stop dwelling on this...

MrsP sorry about the cramping, it can be very alarming, especially when accompanied by the damp pants sensation (copious amounts of CM here when pregnant!). But as GetDown says cramping, stretching, even "period pain" is very normal in pregnancy, especially 1st trimester. I was quite reassured to read somewhere that it is very unusual for the first sign of a miscarriage to be cramping. Usually it starts with spotting and the cramping comes later and accompanies the heavier bleeding/clots. So just cramping hopefully is nothing sinister. Fingers crossed for you.

MrsP81 · 28/02/2011 20:52

Thank you for the reassurance. Cramping has calmed down a lot now and I have been feeling sick today. Not going to complain though! I couldn't decide what I wanted to eat so I wandered round the supermarket and decided that milk was the way forward. Mmmmmmmmmm.

Hope that today was ok as could be expected nix.

Anyone seen iwish around?

nickstermum · 28/02/2011 21:08

Thanks spilt and MrsP, today wasnt too bad. friends baby arrived, all good, so happy for her. Bit wibbly tonight, but we are saving lanterns for the weekend when DS can be with us.... off for a bath and bed...catch up tomorrow xxx

Iwish · 28/02/2011 21:58

Hey mrsp I'm here :). Been pretty quiet but still been reading.
Glad the cramping has calmed down and you have a nice bit of sickness lol. My sickness has calmed down a lot, mostly have it in the evenings now. Got appt with consultant tomorrow am so a little excited for that (not that they will do anything exciting). Soooo tired! Xx

Big waves to everyone else xx

tory79 · 01/03/2011 09:29

Hi all

So the sickness has struck with avengeance - I still feel nauseaous ALL the time, did my first proper vomit yesterday morning, and have been sick again this morning. I feel so yucky I have ended up calling in sick for work - partly because I just can't face the tube!! However, as I am only 6+4 clearly I probably have lots of this to come and can't be phoning in sick to work all the time!!! How have people dealt with it? I guess it is literally just a case of getting on with things, but just thought I would ask in case anyone has a magic wand?

Bleurgh xxx

nickstermum · 01/03/2011 10:32

YEY for the symptoms..... nothing is as reassuring!!

Glad the cramping has calmed down mrsP!

How is everyone today?
All good i hope :)

Pippaandpolly · 01/03/2011 11:18

Hi everyone, hope you're all ok. Spilt and Nix have been thinking of you - hope you're feeling ok soon. My due date from last time was in January and was horrible - particularly as noone else remembered (except DH of course) and I wanted to talk about it but didn't want to bring it up... I think you just have to let yourself feel it to be honest, and it will always be a sad day.

My scan is next Monday and I am getting very nervous - seem to have fewer and fewer symptoms, nausea's gone, boobs don't even hurt anymore...am only 10+5 (and ovulated late so realistically less) so it's a bit nerve wracking. Keep having horrible dreams.

Still, trying to keep positive and focused on work. Half term's over so it's back with a bang! Hope everyone's feeling ok - will try and keep up more, have been offline for a little while. Off to have a Brew

GetDownYouWillFall · 01/03/2011 12:36

Hello all!

Hope your scan goes well on monday pippa Smile Mine is a week on thursday and I will be nearly 13 weeks by then. Are you having the nuchal scan? I am... I presume they do the dating at the same time. The woman on the phone didn't really explain it to me.

My symptoms seemed to lessen quite a lot around 9 weeks, try not to worry although I know it's hard. I don't get a lot of nausea at all now and boobs are not really sore either.

I am feeling not great today. Had a terrible night's sleep. Only got 2 hours Sad Just struggling to get through the day, and hoping tonight will be better.

Waves to everyone.

OP posts:
LadyGoneGaga · 01/03/2011 12:44

They do dating during the nuchal, Getdown. Indeed it is essential they get the date accurate as obviously the nuchal measurement will be different at different stages as it grows as your baby does. Could you maybe work from home this avo if struggling with sleep?

My symptoms also eased round then, Pip - try not to worry.

Massive hypocrite though as I have my 20 week scan on Friday and true to form am bricking it again. Worried they will find something wrong. I found OBEM massively upsetting last night - just reminds you that you don't always walk away with a healthy baby. Sad

Hugs to Nix - is a difficult day.

Iwish · 01/03/2011 13:01

Hi Tory yey for sickness! But boo for the feeling crappy with it. I eat polos for my nausea which seems to help (for now until I go off them). 6+4 too. That's gone fast. Why aren't my weeks going as fast lol!

Hi nix. How are you doing?

Wave to pippa Monday for the scan, I'll be on here Monday waiting for an update of how you got on. You poor thing for the horrible dreams ((hugs)) that's not what you need.

Well I went to my appt today. CANCELLED again!!! Well actually I got there and they said the consultant doesn't work today and rebooked for Friday. Why book me in then???!!!! Not that I'm annoyed or anything!! Sickness isn't here as often now either, please come back!

How is everyone else?

nickstermum · 01/03/2011 13:06

ooh have been recording OBEM and havent watched the last 3 episodes, what happened? one to avoid i think!

LadyG totally understand your nerves, I am exactly the same. You have 1 healthy child and there is no reason to think this one will be any different.... :)

pip my symptoms started at 10 weeks in terms of nausea so i am teh exception rather than the rule in this room! The placenta starts to take over soon so they will start to diminish... so a very wise lady told me at the time Grin Vivid dreams are a very good symptom Grin

Getdown get those feet up my love! Know what you mean though DS has got a really nasty night cough and has spent the last 3 nights in our bed and i tend to wake up with his feet wedged into my neck..yes neck! He chases you round the bed when he wants to be near you...and needs to have contact! So my sleep has been broken also Confused

Think am feeling very sporadic movements, but with muffler on my uterus, not sure! Placenta is anterior and so not feeling much... hope to feel more soon :)

TerrysNo2 · 01/03/2011 13:37

LadyG I saw one minute of OBEM (before DH forced asked me to switch over) and it scared the hell out of me. I thought getting to 12 weeks was bad enough!!

pippa my symptoms disappeared when I was 8 weeks with DS, cue lots of worry to 12 week scan but he is here and perfect Smile. I had some ahem, very vivid dreams last time which were quite nice!! Blush

GetDown hope you get a chance to relax today. xxx

So jealous of movements Nix Smile, at the moment 4+4, I feel like I will never get there.

Iwish grr at docs on your behalf, hope Friday is good.

Right, off to toilet so I can scratch my breast (just the right one mind) not such a good sight in the office!! Blush Grin

LadyGoneGaga · 01/03/2011 13:52

Well, OBEM was a happy ending. But one of the poor ladies had one healthy child, then had a newborn baby that died at 6 weeks due a really rare syndrome and then had a still born baby at 28 weeks - her placenta had given up Sad. So it was lovely in the end when she got her healthy baby but so upsetting.

And the other Mum was having twins - one of whom had the intestines growing on the outside so had to go straight to SCBU. But I think is fine after an operation but found it all really harrowing.

You'll get there, Terrys. I know time goes so sloooowly for first few weeks.

Bless your son chasing you round the bed, Nix Grin

nickstermum · 01/03/2011 14:35

Sorry Iwish must have crossed posts! sorry your apt was cancelled - AGAIN! Gosh :( pants and arse!

Enjoy your boob scratching terrys :)

digitalgirl · 01/03/2011 16:32

thanks for the heads up ladyg definitely won't be watching that episode.

iwish I'm pretty sure you got your bfp before me and I'm 7+3, doesn't that mean you're 8+4? Are you counting from your lmp or 2 weeks before you ovulated? Sorry they ballsed up your appointment today.

Was feeling a bit off this morning, especially after odd twinges and aches overnight (which sent my paranoid mind into overdrive despite them not being cramps)...but now having ever so faint little back twinges/cramps which are worrying me. Just need to get through to 5:30 then I might try and sneak off home. Probably because I walked the 20 minute to John Lewis do a bit of shopping and walk back - I felt fine while walking, but clearly my back thinks otherwise. Can't wait for the weekend.

Iwish · 01/03/2011 17:48

Thanks terrys. It's flippin well bugging me now, just want to get the appt over and done with! Thats 3 cancelled now if you count the first one that they didn't even tell me I had lol. I hope you enjoyed your sneak off to the loos for a boob scratch Grin

Don't worry nix it's probably my fault as it takes me so long tonpoat that there has been loads of chat in the meantime hehe. I hope you feel snow stronger movements soon too. May not be saying that after a few boots in the ribs tho Grin

Hey digi yeh I'm 8+4 if you go by LMP which I'm just going with. Really I'm 8+2 I think. What are you going by? You aren't far behind me. I get this odd cramps and twinges in my back and in my stomach too so maybe wouldn't worry too much.

Sorry this is way TMI but I reaaaalllyyy wish I could have a poo!! Went this morning and only had a little one but I knew I really needed to do more but it just wasn't happening. I've been like this for a few weeks now and it's not funny! Any ideas ladies?

TerrysNo2 · 01/03/2011 18:05

Fibre Iwish, lots of fibre. Prunes work a treat on DS - literally too well. Get the soft ones from waitrose and have them with some porridge or prune juice if you want to hold your nose and drink.

Iwish · 01/03/2011 18:09

Thanks terrys not sure I like prunes so might just hold my nose with the juice. How much would you recommend without me overdosing and having the erm runs? Blush x

MrsP81 · 01/03/2011 19:16

Hello iwish, glad to see you?re still here. Smile That?s crap re your appointment, why do they do crazy things like that?!

Yay for sickness tory, I know obviously it feels rubbish but its quite reassuring. I?m afraid I don?t have a magic wand for you though. I?ve heard people say you should eat often to try and keep the nausea at bay but I think that?s easier said than done. Are you 6+4 from lmp? I am too but had a late ov so more like 6 weeks today really and I seem to remember you ovd early so I guess you?re a bit more than that. Its going soooooooo slooooooooowly!

Good luck for your scan pippa. I?ve heard lots of ladies say that their symptoms lessen at this time so try not to worry too much. But please remind me I said that in 4 weeks time when I will probably be exactly the same!

Ooooh, good luck for Friday LadyGG. I am so jealous of 20 weeks, that seems like a lifetime away at the moment for me.

I?m still on the milk today. Last week I couldn?t get enough of crisps but this week the thought of one makes my stomach turn, bluuuuuurgh. I wonder what it will be next?

digitalgirl · 01/03/2011 19:19

iwish am going by 2 weeks before ov as I didn't ov till cd25. And lmp dates assume you ov at cd14.
Am also Blush constipated. But was told this is due to metabolism slowing down so body can absorb as much nutrients as possible from the food you eat. V uncomfortable though.
