Good luck travis and ryuk, hope all goes well today.

Another crappy night's sleep due to weeing, also had a nightmare as well that left me very unsettled this morning. Was awake from about 5.20am with period pains in my lower tummy and back, pretty sure they weren't contractions though. They stopped by 7.30am, boo!

I am off to the supermarket later to get cake ingredients and birthday food for DP's 33rd tomorrow. He really isn't interested in a fuss this year, but DD loves birthdays and has insisted that we have a little party.

DP is getting very jittery bless him, I think he's going to be a bit of a shakey, jumpy mess as from tomorrow. He's already told me he's on high alert and is feeling very nervous, poor sweetie lol.

Plus my Mum, who wanted to come down here with my Dad to look after DD when I am in hospital, seems to have a stomach virus brought on by the flu she had over the last 2 weeks. She is being tested for an infection and the dr has banned her from coming near me and new baby until they know if she has a tummy bug. She is absolutely devastated and really wants me to go into labour late.

Right, I suppose I will go and watch a bit of crap tv and then set off shopping when the rush hour traffic has cleared from town.

Crystylline · 26/01/2011 09:39

Ooooh a possibly exciting day for us with ryuk and travis hopefully giving birth! Although a bit Hmm about that post from travisGrin ? seemed a bit scary.

And my exciting day has finally arrived ? unless I have the quickest labour on earth in the next 3 hours DH will be here for the birth. I also realised that if bbay comes next weds it?ll have birth date of 2/2/11 ? which is pretty cool ? so I told him tues or weds, it?s up to him Wink

And I agree ? WHERE are all your babies? Are they with pootle?s plumber??? Seriously though, there?s me panicking I?d be lonely and thanks to the fuzzy?s of this post, I?ve got loads of company!

I had ?period type? pains too last night rock - ugh and that?s crap for you and crap for your mum. And yeah, I think it?s lovely for DD to see that life is going on as normally, IMO, by making DP a cake. Plus, it?ll be cake?.mmm?..

AND most excitingly text from DH: Donuts bought! GrinGrinGrin

Looking forward to seeing him and making him put my socks on! How evil am i?

And me and my mum have a list of jobs for him?. All technical related! He?ll love us.

And I HOPE one of you starts your contractions today?. Please. Even my mum said that you?re all far too late?.

oooh - where's gallic?

NoLadyButManyBubbasAndBumps · 26/01/2011 10:22

Lots of MIA so far and it's already 10:20!! iether you're being sensible and sleeping, or you're huffing and puffing and breathing.

My exciting news of today is that our neighbours have started building work WHICH WE HAVE NOT AGREED TO!!!! I am fucking fuming and have spoken to their boss and had a hormental rant. Haven't seen the neighbour yet, but woe betide anyone who crosses with a very pregnant me!!!! Angry Angry

Crystylline · 26/01/2011 10:28

oooh bubba contact your local authority and find out what thir guidelines are (they all differ slightly). primary rules of thumb are: they have to give you notice of work that may disrupt you, especially if you have children. they have to minimise noise as much as possible and they have specific allowed working hours (usually 8-5 weekdays, 9-1 on saturdays and nothing on sundays).

if any of the work afeects your property, you have even more reason/right to hav a good old moan too.

i bloody hate, hate, hate inconsiderate idiots with building work. the sodding church i used to live next door to did this to me last year.... so much for community spirit.

Pootle78 · 26/01/2011 10:30

Rock I hope your mum gets better soon, not nice :(

Crystyl step away from the google - my dh thinks MN is just as bad when I say something, all I get is and where did you read that ? - Mumsnet^

Glad the doughnuts are finally on their way Cupcakes you may need to change your login name!!! Let us know what flavours be bought so we can all drool over our keyboards!

The plumber finally appeared at 9.30 but no babies with him, he looked slightly shocked when he asked how long had I got to go and I said today!!! I told him believe me I do not want to go into labour whilst you are here as much as you don't want me to go into labour whilst you are here!

And forgot to say earlier, last night was the first time in weeks if not months that I didn't get up for a wee! What's that all about?

Pootle78 · 26/01/2011 10:34

x-post bubba

I have found hormonal pregnant rants have got me what I want when I want it, especially in the last 2 weeks, but agree with crystyl there are some right inconsiderate beeps out there!

OP posts:
Crystylline · 26/01/2011 10:42

pootle i have carpenters coming today to lay a new floor, so looking forward to having the same conversation with them. Grin

I can rather smugly expect them to move everything out of the room though, as I can't lift a thing!

i too had less weeing last night... only twice, which is slightly unheard of.

guessing that bump is being considerate and not sleeping on my bladder for a change. thank you bump!

NoLadyButManyBubbasAndBumps · 26/01/2011 10:57

Yep - they asked us for permission to build foundations under our land (garden) a few months ago. We said no. They've seemingly gone ahead anyway. WTF??!! Anyway, I've been out there taking pics of the work done so far (pulled down our fence and pulled down our beloved honeysuckle). We also had a statue there that my sister gave us for our wedding present and they could easily have knocked it over. Actually need to go and check they haven't damaged it at all. Ranty ranty ranty. Sorry!

NoLadyButManyBubbasAndBumps · 26/01/2011 10:59

x-posts

I also only got up to wee twice last night - and both wees were big ones rather than the piddly piddle Grin that I've been used to. Started worrying again??!!

RockLover · 26/01/2011 10:59

Well, I haven't been to the supermarket yet, feeling very tired and a bit off colour. The not sleeping well is really taking it's toll, I am completely bone weary.

Envy of Cupcakes with her Krispy Kremes delivery later today, I'd love a donut right now. I NEED sugar!! Just sneaked a mini piece of the pineapple upside down cake, naughty but very nice.

I am literally fantasising about sleeping all night with no disruptions in a huge, comfy bed. I would pay, yes PAY for 1 decent night's sleep!!!!

I hope those ladies currently contracting are well on their way to meeting their little bundles. Thinking of you. xx

Crystylline · 26/01/2011 11:03

bubba OMG! Angry

that's totally unbelieveable. compensation in order already for the damage done so far. hope they've completely stopped as they are trespassing if they do anything else.

block their access and send them home. they have no rights whatsoever.

i love a good old rant, so go for it!

just be careful you don't overdo it.

car finally fixed, so off to claim it and the very large bill! yikes!

CupcakesHay · 26/01/2011 11:12

Odd - i was only up twice in night to wee. Spooky.

Yes good point bubba quite a few MIA. Hope you're not going to be Envy!

And that is VERY Angry about building works. Especially at this time of your life, wiht new baby, having the other DCs at home, etc.

Love the conversation with the plumber pootle and love the whole cna't move anything crysty. BTW, did you ever clean your car?

Very quiet on here - but then spose running is having her coffee & cake day, and travis and ryuk are probably screaming acting dignified during the birth of their darling children.... and ummm .... where are the american girls?

Crystylline · 26/01/2011 11:18

cupcakes i'm totally lame and did not clean my car! Grin Blush

considering giving that task to one of my dear friends/family members when they appear in the next few days, or is that completely mean?

i too am wondering if everyone else is giving birth today - lucky ladies if they are!

maybe its endemic, so if i go wandering about for a bit, i can encourage my LO to to come out to play too...?

CupcakesHay · 26/01/2011 11:23

Damn - triple cross-post!

I agree with crysty WTF! That's awful bubba what twats. And if you complain - lie and say Honeysuckle was planted in memory of some dead relative. Thos complete ar-eho-es! Angry And yes - be careful about getting too stressed - or fake it and then do the whole "I'm 9 months pregnant and you're causing me all this stress, etc". God how awful!

Pleased car is fixed crysty - not so pleased about giant bill.

And i so know where you are coming from rock - i remember at xmas, practically crying i was so desperate for a bit of sleep. here's praying baby rock will be an angel and sleep really well asap for you! Smile

Right - off to chuck make up on (although still so pleased with my beautiful eyelashes!) - and then grabbing bag of Christmas peanut m&Ms i found (they were on top of the fridge - it was soooo exciting finding them) - and then going to pick up DH at plmouth station. YAY!

Although my dad said - should we not take your hospital bag - but don't think they'll be room for that, me, DH, baby car seat, and DH's luggage - so if i randomly go into labour - i'll make my poor dad drive back for it!

NoLadyButManyBubbasAndBumps · 26/01/2011 11:23

Council weren't particularly helpful and have just said to contact a solicitor. Yes, because I have buckets of money lying around for that!!! Hmm

Hey ho, musn't let it stress me out. Have an appt with the consultant later so need to save my calmness for her as I'm fairly sure she's going to want to intervene in this labour malarky in a way I don't want, so have to be ready to argue my case nicely. Don't want to piss her off.

crystyll see if there's anyone at the garage who'll do a quick hoover inside the car for you while you're there. Cling on to your back and stick your belly out with a few huffs and puffs for maximum effect :)

CupcakesHay · 26/01/2011 11:31

Council are waste of space!

Ok - being nosy forgetful devon girls - where are you having babies again? I remember one of you was midwife unit... was other Torbay?

Crystylline · 26/01/2011 11:32

bubba

a few things re: neighbours:

do they have planning permission for the foundations? contact building regs dept at local authority for info. did they publicise it (if they didn't it's against the law anyway).

it is a civil, rather than a criminal matter, however the police can forcibly remove them from your property, especially if they are damaging it, or trespassing.

the council MUST have given them some form of permission for such major building works (unless this is foundations for a shed or something v. little), therefore there is someone at the local authority who will have been dealing with their applications/permissions and work arrangements.

see above and contact via planning and building regs people.

you can also report them for failing to submit appropriate planning applications etc to the local authority dept which should stop the work.

yes, you may eventually need a solicitor, but in the first instance - they cannot work on your property without your consent, which you have not given and are denying.

all this based on the assumption that you own the property and the neighbours own theirs and that neither are social housing or rented....

HTH, but let me know/PM if you want any other info. I used to work in property services in councils and have dealt with planning before, so if you need any info, give me a shout. x

Crystylline · 26/01/2011 11:34

x post. cupcakes bright idea re: car! Grin

i think rock is torbay, I was the mat unit at oke, but not allowed given my complications... so Exeter, unless i go by ambulance and then i can request either exeter or barnstaple.

Barnstaple has v. good reputation and exeter's pretty good too, so happy with either.

you're off to derriford aren't you?

NoLadyButManyBubbasAndBumps · 26/01/2011 11:41

thanks crystyll although, afaik, because of the size of the extension, they don't need planning permission. the builders are no longer on our property and their boss has said they'll only dig on their land and I've been out taking pics of anything done so far. I'll look into whether they should have got planning permission for foundations or not. flippity bollocks. :o

RockLover · 26/01/2011 12:06

Yes, I'll be going to Torbay Hospital as it's closer to us than Derriford. It's only about a 20 minute drive and we don't have to drive through town to get to it.

Although I'm pretty sure a 20 minute drive will seem like 20 hours when I'm having agonising contractions lol. I remember the 10 minute drive to Northmapton Hospital when I was in labour with DD, it felt like a bloody life time (and don't even mention speed bumps...OUCH).

NoLadyButManyBubbasAndBumps · 26/01/2011 12:08

I asked the mw about driving with contractions rock and she said absolutely not - call an ambulance, that's what they're there for. said don't even contemplate it.

Crystylline · 26/01/2011 12:14

no driving with contractions. i'll be getting the nee-na express and it will take an hour!

RockLover · 26/01/2011 12:32

Oh god no, I won't be driving, I'd kill the car! DP can't drive so we've drafted in his Dsis to drive us and an ambulance if things go fast (which I doubt).

My parents drove me to the hospital when I had DD, I would never get behind the wheel when not fit to drive. :)

NoLadyButManyBubbasAndBumps · 26/01/2011 12:36

sorry rock misread your post. Glad you're not planning on driving yourself (but, to be fair to me, I thought your naughty bubba had finally driven you to proper insanity!! :o :o )
