hay ok then!

desperatehousewife · 29/09/2005 10:06

Did anyone see the mattress thread recently - apparently the latest advice is that you can re-use mattresses for second children.

Have to say, if this is true - great news. Don't really fancy spending out another £120 on a poxy cot mattress.

Have got builders in today and the noise of brick cutting is making me feel sick. So is all the dust everywhere. Maybe I should just go out>?! Just want to hibernate at the moment though.

Hi all
Can I join too? I am 17 + 3 and due with #2 on 6th March. I am 34 yrs. I have DH also 34 yrs and DS 3.3yrs.

I have also been as sick as a dog for the first timester. I have been a lot better over the last couple of weeks but have accepted that I am probably never going to be one of those people who bloom in pregnancy!

I am really looking forwards to my 20 week scan on 18th Oct. I didn't find out the sex with my DS but I can't resist the temptation this time. I don't mind if it's a girl or a boy, I just want to know!

desperatehousewife · 29/09/2005 10:31

Hi Dene - I'm 34 too with a 35 yr old DH and a 3.2yr old DS!

Hi DHW, I haven't seen any info about re using matresses so I can't be any help there.

Just making the most of my last half hour of peace before picking DS up from pre school!

munz · 29/09/2005 11:01

hi dene - welcome!

DHW - that was gonna be my next question to u guys actually what's the best matress for a NB as mothercare seem to have about 5 differnt types! we'll be using a swing crib (hopefully will get a matress made for that thou) so it's just a normal cot bed??

desperatehousewife · 29/09/2005 11:14

i went for a cot as it was given to me by sis in law from her kids.

mattress was a lovely proper sprung one. I figured he'd be sleeping in it for 2 years so it ought to be a good one.

Hi everyone!!hope all is well.Hi Dene and welcome.

RosiePosie · 29/09/2005 12:22

Hi everyone, welcome Spiker and Dene. I'm expecting my third very end of Feb, beginning of March.

Well, after a day feeling wiped out and rotton yesterday I feel much better today, so I thought I'd do a bit of housework. I've totally done my pelvis in again hoovering! It's fine as long as I don't actually do anything, so I forget that there is a problem there. Then as soon as I do something, like hoovering, pushing a supermarket trolly or walking more than 100 yards it all starts up again. So frustrating!

Lol, at you in you little black dress PH! I bet you feel fab though, don't you?

poppyh · 29/09/2005 12:42

Actually felt like a black widow!!Have changed into maternity skirt thats too big now!!Feel a bit more normal though!

Zephyrcat · 29/09/2005 12:46

Hi all Welcome to spiker and dene
Lol at the thought of you wondering around the house in your posh black dress poppy

Go easy on that pelvis RP. I'm actually starting to wonder whether I am just pulling muscles or if the dreaded spd is back with a vengeance (sp!). Whichever it is it's agony. I'm thinking it might be a bit early for spd this bad so am hoping it's pulled muscles or I can see me ending up on crutches!

Cadmum · 29/09/2005 13:26

Hello all and welcome Dene. I am also 34 with a 3.5 year old DS and I am 17 weeks tomorrow. (It justt so hapens that I have a DS8 and a DD 6, too!) It will be nice to talk about our 4 year olds and our newborns with DHW when the time arrives. Sorry that you are feeling rotten. I can certainly relate.

RP and DHW: I am feeling so horrid that I barely dragged myself out of bed. What is up with that? Where is the second trimester energy that I NEED to experience today? My house is a tip and DH is home tonight for the week-end. He would go into shock if he saw the house in this state...

Zephyr: Sorry that you are in agony. Don?t know how much better it would be if it is a pulled muscle but i sure hope that you don?t have the dreaded SPD already. I have really sore hips when I first wake up in the morning but it is certainly not because I am doing too much during the day.

Munz: As usual you sound happy and full of energy. Want to help me with the house-work?

munz · 29/09/2005 13:30

RP - yes mrs u go care ful over on IOW! take things easy.

cadmum - ah not doing so wele today bit down in the dumps with DH at the mo, and generally down - am assumin it's hormones (hopefully!), yesterday he came out with a cracker - he's arranged a 'date' for me with one of the other wives who's 40+1 weeks, on sat so we can talk about babies etc - all he wants is to watch the rugby with her DH in our house so am royally miffed with him right now, esp as i've just seen the bank statement. MEN!! - ARGHH!

zep - a nice long black dress eh! - hmm takes all sorts to do the hosue work!

Cadmum · 29/09/2005 13:32

Sorry munz... I read some of your worries on the other thread... Do you want to chat via msn? Shall I email you my Chat name?

munz · 29/09/2005 13:33

it's ok I started a thread off in relationships, don't mind chatting there, am working at the mo so I can't do MSN - shouldn't MN but that's non traceable iycwim. (msn keeps track of my email etc)

Zephyrcat · 29/09/2005 13:35

When does the second trimester officially start? I need to get past this feeling crap stage!! I dread getting up every morning! The house is disgusting, the kids are running wild and dp is not impressed at all lol I need some of that 'blooming' energy too! I'm only 12+2 - feel waaaay behind you lot!!

If I have a day doing absolutely nothing then the pain goes away but as soon as I'm up and about and doing stuff it's back which makes me wonder if it's more likely to be spd Must go and get a belt. Are you wearing yours all the time RP?

Cadmum · 29/09/2005 13:35

Understood. I think I will send you an email that you can read later. I am not too keen on posting things on here.

munz · 29/09/2005 13:36

it's 12 weeks zep afaik. so welcome to the 2nd trimester - i'm in the clingy can't be arse wanna cry all the time stage! isn't PG great!

munz · 29/09/2005 13:37

ok honney thanks. (((hugs)))

Cadmum · 29/09/2005 13:40

Sorry ZC. The first trimester starts around 13 weeks and generally women start to feel better by 14. This is certainly NOT the case for me as I feel miserable and hormonal. I do have the ability to stay up in the evening once my children are in bed though so I should acknowledge that that alone is a big accomplishment.

I haven?t even done the dishes from dinner last night and the hoover has been in the garage for the last 2 weeks if that is any indication of the mess that surrounds me. My children have a proper play-room (they share a room to sleep still) and it is wall to wall toys and they have started to migrate all over the house as well. I can?t bear the thought of bending over to pick them up because my sinuses are still sore from this ever-lasting cold and the children are bouncing off the wall (literally) because their daddy is coming home tonight.

I feel like running away!

Cadmum · 29/09/2005 13:42

Munz: SNAP on the second trimester feelings!

Zephyrcat · 29/09/2005 13:42

thank goodness for that!! Maybe it's a psychological thing - now I know I'm past the worst it'll pick me up a bit!!
Hope you're ok Munz (haven't seen your thread) x

I didn't realise you were meant to change matresses with each baby - why's that? DS is on DD's!!

Zephyrcat · 29/09/2005 13:42

oh bugger lol

munz · 29/09/2005 13:45

caddy - awww bless u, that's exactly like my house right now, on principal that I asked DH i'm not cleaning the kitchen after last ngihts tea (somehting I hate doing) he's off work tomorrow I think - well in for an hour so we'll have a good chat tonight.

(what's the second trimester emotions ment to be then? - apparently his friends say their wives were the exact same as I am now?? - perhaps we're - dear I say it?? normal!?)

Zephyrcat · 29/09/2005 13:48

The second trimester is where you are meant to 'bloom' and have heaps of energy and be really 'up' and lively!!

In theory..........
