Good morning all

I'm feeling really sick today and I've got no energy at all! Just taking it easy with a bit of daytime TV until I pick DS up from pre school.

DHW - I'm with everyone else and think tennis would be a better idea next summer. Stick to walking and swimming at the moment. I am impressed with your intention though. I usually do loads of exercise but since I have been pregnant it is all I can do to walk to DS's school!

Cadmum - good luck with your scan

Have a good day everybody!

munz · 30/09/2005 10:32

ng- yes all back to 'normal' I think in the munz house hold! - me ogalling CE mainly! he he he he! DH is going to make more of an effort for me - least he made me laugh last night.

think ur DD is well trained - and DH come to think of it - can u send him over to wales to do my hoovering as well!

having pains today again down below the bump (on the side) when standing up - so either a) sitting too much or b) streching ligamnets again? might get the doppler out tonight to see if DH can find the h/b.

Cadmum · 30/09/2005 11:56

Dh made it home around 1:00 am... My scan is at 8:15 and the appt with the consultant is at 9:00 (2pm for you.).

Don?t think they will even offer to tell me the sex. I am 17 weeks today. I?ll let you know how it all goes.

coppertop · 30/09/2005 12:13

Good luck for today, Cadmum. xxx

I'm soooo relieved to hear that I'm not the only one who feels cr@ppy and has no energy - not that I'm happy that you're suffering IYKWIM! I'm 15wks+1day and still feel sick, tired, and have sinuses from hell. Sadly I've always been a slob when it comes to tidying up so I can't blame the messy house on being pg.

I used the same mattress for ds1 and ds2 with no problems. I'm also planning to use it again for no.3.

Does anyone else find themselves blubbing away at threads on mumsnet - even when they're happy threads?

Frizbe · 30/09/2005 12:26

Hi all, just checking up on you!
Cadmum, glad he's home for you, keep us posted xx
Poppyh and Newgirl, hurrah at your dd's!
Poppy H hope the clothes are good, let us all know!
Personally I'm gona get a new matress for the cot, just cause I'll have to live with myself if there are any spores in there that cause a problem with the new bubba, but not berating anyone who does otherwise, its a free country!

munz · 30/09/2005 12:33

ooooooooooh ooooooooooh stop press, jsut felt flutters, (two seperate sets of them!) YAY!!

(is that right? am 18 weeks on sunday) bit relieved now after the pains earlier on.

Cadmum · 30/09/2005 14:42

I am home and everything went brilliantly!!

i will post details later.

Oh my goodness! I think I am going to have a baby!

munz · 30/09/2005 14:43

YAY omg i'm so pleased for u! hope u can relax somewhat and enjoy things! u go celebrate with DH. (((((((((((((((hugs))))))))))))))))

desperatehousewife · 30/09/2005 15:31

oh cadmum, that's fantastic news...come on spill the beans! Let's hear all the details....

Munz that's so exciting about having flutters -how amazing!

I thought I had, but haven't felt anythign for about a week now (but have checked heartbeat with doppler and all is well).

OP posts:
munz · 30/09/2005 15:32

dhw - this is the first flutters i've had for about 2 weeks - they've stopped now but was def flutters!

hopefully they'll be more regular in a couple of weeks.

toothyboy · 30/09/2005 15:34

Glad to hear there are so many flutters!! Mine are more like actual movements now - I'm sure the first kick will be very soon!!

Have we had the first March 06 kick yet?

RosiePosie · 30/09/2005 15:47

That's great news Cadmum. I hope you can relax a bit and enjoy the rest of your pregnancy now.

Movements have been a lot stronger and more frequent over the last few days, but I wouldn't say kicks yet. It's only a matter of time!

newgirl · 30/09/2005 15:52

toothy - just flutters here now and then no kicking - wouldn't feel it through the wobbly padding anyway.

munz - our DHs have got a lot to live up to compared to the perfect, jogging, film star, good bum, sex god CE!

Good news: no more queasiness for me!

Bad news: I've got an ulcer and had a nose bleed today. Apparently thats normal due to blood circulation. Yippee bloody doo dah.

ps if anyone wants a laugh read the boden thread on style - very funny. I don't usually look at the other threads much but that one called out to me. Party bags thread was good too. Now I MUST do some WORK!!!!

munz · 30/09/2005 16:32

ng - oh yes- u watched the film then? - that a butt! (u just wanna go up and pinch it!)

desperatehousewife · 30/09/2005 16:59

you two - what are you like. can you please stop cluttering up this thread with CE dirty thoughts. You should start your own CE thread!!!!

OP posts:
munz · 30/09/2005 17:00

desperatehousewife · 30/09/2005 17:18

I'm only pulling your leg!

poppyh · 30/09/2005 17:25

Munz, yes 18weeks on sunday same as me.pushchair came, it is a Babystyle Cylcon which is v similar to Bugaboo but fraction of the price.Only prob is it is V heavy and hard to fold. Will give it a good test and assemble tomorrow but I may send it back if it proves too heavy or hard to fold.
Saw mw today.was very pleased with babys progress and heard heart beat for 1st time.
Went shopping looking for maternity wear.H&M had nothing, neither did next so havent bought anything.Have to carry on looking a little bit ridiculous for time being!!
Cadmum, hope scan went well.

Cadmum · 30/09/2005 18:45

Sorry to keep you all in suspense! I just got back from a nice breakfast with the family and a run around the local playground.

I was the first to be scanned this morning so was actually started before 8:15! The sonographer kindly found the heartbeat before putting the picture up on the screen for me. The baby was very active and she took the usual measurements--50th centile for a 17 week fetus. (She asked me if I would like to know the gender!!! It was SO hard to say no thank-you. DH really doesn?t want to know and I am not certain that I would like to so I made the hard decision on the spot.) She checked the spine; the heart; both hemispheres of the brain... Found the stomach, both kidneys, the bladder, five fingers per hand (really long fingers like mine and DS1 and DD); two little feet (didn?t see her check the toes...) She confirmed that there are 3 vessels in the umbilical cord and that the cord inserion is nomal and central (it was lateral with DS2).

Hope that is WAY more detail than you wanted...

I was also given the results of the nuchal fold scan and the blood work that they do at the same time and two weeks later (it is called the Integrated Prenatal Screen in Canada--somewhat dif. than in UK, I believe.) I was told that the chance of downs is 1 in 15.000 and 1 in 5000 for neural-tube defects. All of the blood work came back normal so I have come to the conclusion that I might be having a baby in March!! I know this will sound silly but I am really surprised that everything went so so so well.

Oh yeah, I have also gained nearly 1 whole kg (think that is 2 lbs) !!! This is really good for me as I have usually lost a lot of weight by this stage...

Sadly, the pictures were not particularly clear but I will send Munzie one via email because she has kindly offered to post it on member profiles for me. Thanks Munz!

Cadmum · 30/09/2005 18:48

Munz and Newgirl: I don?t even know who Christopher E is... At least I am not competition for your dream man!

Frizbe · 30/09/2005 18:53

Phew, very happy that all's ok for you and yours cadmum your having a baby!
Poppy H, aww not fair can't believe they have no clothes in....pants.....
Toothyboy, I've been getting kicks for a few weeks now, seem to have a lively one in there! but as its my 2nd I guess I'm noticing them earlier! maybe more sensitive down there! as dd was a pummeler too......plus I'm also technically due 27th Feb, so am crashing this thread!
Have been trying to potty train dd today, so far two wee's on the floor and one poo in her pants.....ahh the joys of motherhood! lets hope tomorrow's a better day for it! she seems to be slowly getting the idea, that it should be in the potty, just not quite asking in time

Cadmum · 30/09/2005 18:54
