munz · 29/09/2005 14:02

oooooh that was my first trimester! just bit sicky thrown in for good measure/moodyness!

Cadmum · 29/09/2005 14:02

ZC that was my impression of the second trimester as well. 1 and 3 are supposed to be horrible but not 2 as well! Must admit that I will be surprised if this baby is not a girl. I felt this way with DD as well...

Zephyrcat · 29/09/2005 14:07

I'm all confused with this pg - it's all going topsy turvy lol

I felt like this with DS and hated every second of being pg. I was really sick with him. With DD I had nothing except a few mood swings and that was it! My cravings are all mixed up too. I've had some sickness and some ok moments. I'm starting to wonder if I'm having one of each this time!!!

desperatehousewife · 29/09/2005 14:19

oh cadmum - dont' worry about the housework. A hole has just been knocked through our kitchen wall to put double doors in and the dust is quite extraordinary. Dont' think it will ever be really clean again!

Wonder why you feel horrid? Do you think you could be coming down with something?
Although it is quite possible it's just the tiredness and hormones that are making you feel pants???

I'm still weeping at every thing - supernanny last night!

OP posts:
Cadmum · 29/09/2005 14:34

DHW: I had better NOT be coming down with something else. I am just getting over a house-full of colds!

I am exhausted from lack of sleep and 24/7 parenting. Thankfully DH flies home tonight for the week-end and I intend to tune everything out.

Your house is messy for a reason. Mine is up-side-down because I am lazy.

poppyh · 29/09/2005 15:11

I have no energy to clean either. My wooden floors look disgusting but I keep putting off cleaning.Have really bad lower back ache and im worried it is Sciatic.Had this last time with DD but never this early.
Need to clean bathroom too.
On a lighter note have just bought a lovely new pushchair. It was reduced from £250 to £150 and its much more practical than my old one.
Cadmum, I bet my house is messier!

Lizzylou · 29/09/2005 15:13

My house is a tip....I only cleaned yesterday and already it is a state!
We are a messy family, clean but untidy IYKWIM...

Feeling full of beans today...have lost the sicky feeling and no headaches! Hurrah!

Cadmum · 29/09/2005 15:20

Thanks poppy but if I posted a picture to prove my case you would have to call social services!!! I am sure that I win messiest house on this thread easily! I don?t have a sore back as a valid reason either. Hope it passes as I can?t imagine 6 months of sciatic pain!

Lizzylou: I am generally very clean but untidy as well. DH is the one who likes to tidy and he has been gone for a month straight this time. If I can?t find the floor, surely I don?t need to hoover, right?

poppyh · 29/09/2005 15:23

My excuse is that 2 yr old DD is scared of the hoover so i cant use it anyway!!

Lizzylou · 29/09/2005 15:24

Cadmum...excellent logic!

desperatehousewife · 29/09/2005 15:24

I am a slut when it comes to tidying up. I just think there are far more interesting things to do! I love it when it is clean and tidy, but frankly just can't be arsed!

OP posts:
RosiePosie · 29/09/2005 15:34

Hello fellow slobs! My logic is that it's impossible to keep a tidy house with small children present. My nearly two year old is a one baby demolition squad at the moment. We tend to blitz it once at the weekend and then do just the basics during the week. I don't know what possesed me to hoover this morning. A quick half an hour burst of energy and the fact that Rosie had picked all the foam out of dh's headphones and sprinkled it all over the carpet, I think.

bubsylocket · 29/09/2005 15:50

Poppyh - I can really relate regarding the hoover business - my dd1 who is 3 still hates it now, sound of hair-driers, hand-driers - anything loud !!!! I am 15 weeks and 3 days due on the 20th March and am feeling absolute crap !! With my DD1 I felt wonderful, no sickness, just bloomed from start to finish. This one I am sick as soon as I open my eyes in the morning !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Nothing seems to work and then I am totally lethargic all day !!! I have also been in hospital for a cervical stitch due to me having a cone biopsy back in Oct 04 so I have had a bad time so far !!! Must dash - will log on again later.

desperatehousewife · 29/09/2005 17:22

can i ask your opinions girls....

I have been a lazy lard arse all my life never liking sport or exercise of any description. Luckily up until 25 I was very slim. sadly at 25 I met my now husband and have put on 3 stone since then!

ANyway, I digress. I took up tennis lessons in March and had weekly lessons until I found out I was pregnant whenever that was (!?). I am wondering if I should resume tennis lessons again, or just write it off until after the baby.

I'm worried about my blood pressure during this pregnancy (history of pre eclampsia), but know that exercise can be good at keeping BP level. But am thinking that tennis might be a bit high impact for a preg woman who isn't naturally fit and active. and I should be concentrating on gentle exercise like walking.

What do you think?

Frizbe · 29/09/2005 19:37

Blooming eck you lot can natter!
Welcome to Spiker and Dene!
Cadmum, hope you have a good weekend with your man back!
Lol at the little black dress!
DHW I'd give it a miss, do something nice like aquanatal, if you have one near you? or a local pre n post natal exercise class (they're around if you search!) much better for your mental health as well, as you get to meet other mums locally, and people aren't 'going for it'
Well I wonder if I've had my 2nd trimester burst today then? as I've managed to paint the kitchen celing! (with Gran over looking after dd and keeping her out the way!) then we all went out to buy the wall paint, grab lunch and let dd play at plaything for a while ( which involved me clambering over equipment I will soon no longer fit through!)

RosiePosie · 29/09/2005 20:24

Blimey Frizbe, make the most of your energy whilst it lasts!

DHW, I'm with Frizbe - take it easy I reckon. Tennis lessons could be something to look forward to next summer

Cadmum, is it your scan tommorrow? I understand how nerve wracking this one must be for you, I hope you get some sleep tonight. ( sorry, I have no idea what time it is there - it could be Friday already, for all I know)

Cadmum · 29/09/2005 21:42

RP: It is indeed the ?big? scan tomorrow... I am actually not feeling overly nervous because I can now feel regular movement and the baby?s heartbeat is easy to find with the doppler. At least I know that I will not be hearing the dreaded news...

I am even more exhausted that I was this morning because a friend rang and asked if she could bring her two round to play because her cleaning lady showed up a day earlier than arranged. I had to FLY through the kitchen, foyer and family room whilst DS (bless him!) tidied the dining room and gave the bathroom sink a quick wipe.

They stayed for lunch and have only just left. DH will now be impressed with the state of the house as opposed to disgusted. That part is mildly annoying because he thinks that I cope magnificently while he is away... I plan to do absolutely NOTHING this week-end.

DHW I would go back to the tennis after the baby is born (yeah, right! Who am I kidding?!?!) I actually can?t remember the last time I did anything for myself let alone tennis but what I am saying is that it doesn?t seem like the best sport when you have a bump. (Unless of course you have been playing forever...)

I must run as I need to pull DS2 off of DS1. Why is he so aggressive all of a sudden?

Cadmum · 29/09/2005 21:43

RP I meant to add that it is 5 hours ealier in my reality...

Cadmum · 29/09/2005 21:43

earlier even!

Frizbe · 30/09/2005 09:00

{{{{Hugs}}}} Cadmum, hope everything goes ok for you today and that dh made it back on time x

poppyh · 30/09/2005 09:10

Cadmum, hope all goes well today.
DHW I too would take it easy, especially with a history of pre eclampsia.
Bubs, glad im not the only one with a DD who hates hoover, she also hates hairdryer and anything else really loud.
DH taking me to H & M today so hopefully I can stop dressing like a glamourous widow!
Dropped the ironing board on my foot last night.DD said I was bad at ironing and should leave it to dad!!
Hope all is well with everyone!

Zephyrcat · 30/09/2005 09:27

morning! Cadmum hope you have a fantastic day today - are you finding out the sex?

DHW i'd stay off the tennis too and stick to something very gentle - maybe even plan a nice route to walk?

I had planned to attempt to clean up the house today but I've already argued with dp and the kids are doing my head in so I'm here on MN instead!!

munz · 30/09/2005 09:52

morning girls,

caddy - I'm not sure if this is a boy or girl - I'm thinking boy from the errotic dreams but a girl from all the hormones? who knows! - 3 weeks till the scan tells me - hopefully! like ur logic with the hoovering - at the mo my excuse is can't hoover next door has borrowed it! Good luck with ur scan today. hope ur DH made it home in time.

dhw - u have a reson for ur dirt/mess - mines laziness! lol - althou gonna blitz on the w/e mega spring clean! tbh I wouldn't go to tennis at the mo, do some swimming/ walking a set route or something!

pop - what push chair did u get in the end? we need to look at that next month so we can tell mum and dad what one we're after as they're getting us that - first GC and all.

LL/Friz - glad ur both feeling good and full of energy (share it about then! ) lol.

has anyone heard from anchovies at all?

managed to sort things with DH thankfully.

newgirl · 30/09/2005 10:09

Morning

Munz - didn't read your other thread but hope all is ok as we love your cheerfulness on here!

DHW - I can see the tennis appeal - adults, learning something new etc but I would really stick to the lightweight stuff - swimming walking etc - tennis is almost jogging really. By next summer you might be well up for it again and you will get skinny from it!!

Keep us posted on the mattresses - mind you, my dd has weed on hers so I think maybe I should spend the money

welcome new people!!! I'm 34 too with a 3 year old!!! Its nice to hear there are others out there - most of my friends round here all had second babies straight away and made me feel little guilty.

10 am snack due now - caramel sqaures or banana? both I think for a healthy balanced diet.

newgirl · 30/09/2005 10:10

ps I said to DD this morning 'I must hoover your room today' and she said 'no thats a daddy job'!!! well trained that one
