Happysecret, I'm popping over from the November 2005 thread to say Congratulations.
Wishing you a happy and healthy pregnancy

HappySecret · 27/09/2005 14:03

Thanks ChaCha .

Surely someone else is too!

Go on, do the test - I need someone to share with!

Dh thinks I tested too soon and he wants me to retest later this week - he says he'll believe it when I have another BFP (men! ), and he doesn't want me to tell anyone yet (men!! ).

Wow - can't believe the Due in June 2006 thread has begun! All the very best to you all from one of the 2005 Junies, we are complete bunch of gasbags and the ones to beat in terms of how many antenatal threads you can have, good that you are starting early! Take care. xxx

HappySecret · 27/09/2005 14:51

I've got a teeny bit of morning sickness, but what really gets me is that I've started relating to the Marmite jar in a totally inappropriate way. It looks like I'm going to craaaaave the black stuff again!

OOoooooh! Hi Happy Secret. I would love to join you. I am actually due at the end of May, but going by last pregnancy I will be very late (was 16 days late) so I think you will probably have your little one before mine makes an appearance.

How are you feeling? I am sooooo tired and a bit off colour, but have still not had the dreaded sickness (yet!). My sense of smell is making it a bit hard to do anything without turning green though.

Marmite is great, and twigletts. I think it must go hand in hand with pregnancy.

What does BFP mean by the way?

katzguk · 27/09/2005 19:58

wow june 2006 babies already

LilacLotus · 28/09/2005 12:22

jessysmummy · 28/09/2005 13:39

Just wanted to say best of luck and congrats to the new June 06 thread from one of the hangers-on (not by choice, baby just refuses to make an appearance!) in the Sept 05 thread. Happy chatting!

munz · 28/09/2005 13:47

jesus june 06 already, i'm on march 06,

big congrats to u all, hope it goes well.

HappySecret · 28/09/2005 13:54

Another one at last - hooray!

Hello LilacLotus and welcome .

Isn't it lovely that all these lovely Mumsnetters 'pop over' from other threads to congratulate us?

I don't think that I've ever been on a 'due in' thread, despite having a 5yo ds and a 2y9mo dd. Though I was, briefly, on the due in dec 05 thread . Which is why I'm staying as HappySecret until I feel really confident - then I'll 'come out' under my usual name.

A BFP is a Big Fat Positive on the test.

How are you feeling, LL? I keep getting little waves of nausea, just bad enough to make it difficult to keep going with whatever I'm doing at that moment. I was doing Tesco this morning, and could just about manage to choose some turkey pieces (and that was only because they were on a BOGOF ), but I think that this pg is going to be like the last one - if dh wants us to eat fresh meat or fish he's going to have to buy it himself!

LilacLotus · 28/09/2005 14:07

happysecret, i only found out the BFP this morning and i am still in shock from it! i have tried really hard not to tell everyone i spoke to. i did feel a bit sick for the last week but didn't think anything of it and it makes perfect sense now!
have you got any other children? how long did you TTC? we tried for 3 months.

PrettyCandles · 28/09/2005 15:06

We've got two others, who were conceived really quickly, but this one took us 9 months.

I just realised - 9 months! Somehow appropriate!

PrettyCandles · 28/09/2005 15:07

Oops - I've outed myself .

Well, I don't really mind - just, please, anyone who knows me in RL - don't congratulate dh yet!

littlemisspiggy · 28/09/2005 15:50

Congratulations PC!!!! (I'm on May '06)

Cadmum · 28/09/2005 16:23

Conngratulations PC and LL... I am on the due in March thread... I just can?t believe that I am far enough along for there to be a due in June one!!

Hope you have more company soon!

PrettyCandles · 29/09/2005 10:58

How's it going, LilacLotus? Do you believe it yet!?

Ds had the runs at about 5am last night, I had of course to sort him out - and OMG it took such self-control to cope with the smell! It's bad enough waking and getting up suddenly - that always triggers morning sickness for me - but then the rest of it. Oh I love parenthood! No, really I do - especially as afterwards I got to cuddle him on my lap for 20ms until he was ready to go back to bed.

Dh has decided that he will buy a test for me himself, and then he will be convinced.

LilacLotus · 29/09/2005 18:13

i'm feeling a bit queasy. i haven't noticed a change in smells yet. but i'm sure that'll come soon.
i tested again today and it was another positive, so that helped to make it sink in. i've told a few people too and that helped.
i hope your DS feels better!

Prettybird · 30/09/2005 11:55

I'll be due 4 June. Took my test last night - still not sure how I feel about it, even though it is something I desparately want - as dh was disticntly underwhelmed.

He had had to pushed in to trying for a second kid, as he is worried about money and our ages (I'll be 45 by the time baby arrives and he'll be abut to trun 47), But I hope he'll come around and be more positve about it.

I'm also now worried about whether I will have another misacrriage (had a missed miscarriage 2 years), whether there will be genetic problems 'cos of my age, what the impact will be on ds (5) - despite the fact that one of the reasons I wanted another one was so that he wasn't an only child.

I'm sure I'll soon be more positive!

No other symptoms per se yet.

LilacLotus · 30/09/2005 12:02

my DP was very sure he didn't want another child and then i talked him around in a week. at one point we found out we might be losing some money coming in and he was very upset as he'd had his heart set on having another baby. the money situation got sorted btw. one of the reasons i wanted another was also not to have an only child. i am one and i found it so lonely.
we told DD last night. she's so happy and keeps telling me what she wants to teach and share with the baby and that she wants it to sleep in her bedroom (yeah right! how long will that last!).

nic33 · 30/09/2005 14:20

Hello. Due 4 June too - tested two days ago. Still in 'oh my god what have i done' phase. I think that may be where you are too Prettybird.

Symptons seem to be much earlier this time (DS is 2.3). Felt queasy for a week already.

PrettyCandles · 30/09/2005 16:18

Hello everyone!

I know what you mean about it not sinking in yet. It feels a bit like getting married: big palaver, nerve-wracking ceremony, then...well, doesn't feel any different to living-in-sin. I think I'll really believe it when my trousers start getting too tight. Happened at 10wks with ds and at 8wks with dd, so in about a fortnight I suppose, this time.

I did dh's test last night - such a BFP it was almost unreadable. Dear technological husband looked at the test, consulted the instructions, compared the result with the diagrams and then complained that it didn't look like any of them! I think he can't decide whether he's over the moon or wondering why we're rocking the boat.

There are so many things to worry about, aren't there, PrettyBird? I'll be 40 when this one is born. No point saying "Don't worry", is there?! . We were also very concerned about the effects on first ds, and now on the whole family relationships, despite being certain all along that we wanted more than one. But it's brilliant having two, especially when they get to the age that they can enjoy each other's company. Wow!

And BTW, ds is now vomiting as well.

justbetweenourselves · 01/10/2005 14:29

Can I join you?

I'm due (I think) 06/06/06, though will probably have a c/s at the end of May.

Still can't quite believe it, we're really delighted.

No particular symptoms - that will probably change (if last time was anything to go on).

Hope you're all well!

PrettyCandles · 01/10/2005 14:38

What a lovely due date!

Why do you think you will have a CS?

And are you also an under cover regular - like I was?

justbetweenourselves · 01/10/2005 17:50

Yes, PC, I am undercover. For now.

Various complications post first birth mean I've been advised not to attempt it naturally again. It was never my choice to have a c/s and it took a long time to get to grips with that, but I know now, and take solace from the fact that surely a c/s isn't all that bad!!

I'm at the stage of "have I imagined this"!!
