OMG Ifatfirst I am gutted for you. I must have x posted with you earlier. I didn't know that could happen?? How naive of me. I just thought once it was a baby in a sac, it was a baby in a sac.

I know it's a long shot, but hope it's better news in 5 days.

So sorry again, big hugs xxx

MrsChemist · 13/01/2011 17:04

ifatfirst so sorry to hear your sad news. Sad Take care of yourself x

I'm struggling to get an appointment with my MW. She was meant to call me today. After waiting a while, I called my doctor surgery to be told she's booked up for next week. I got the number of the community MW's office but no one is in. At this rate I'll never bloody see her.

spilttheteaagain · 13/01/2011 17:17

Oh IfAtFirst I am so very very sorry Sad. Lots of love to you. If it's right for you do come and sit with us on Charters for some TLC. Lots of love xxx

littlemissw · 13/01/2011 17:21

If I am so sorry to hear your awful news. I know exactly how you feel & my heart goes out to you. ((hugs))

littlemissw · 13/01/2011 17:31

Leilandri I've been feeling DC3 wriggling around since 8 weeks (not every day though). I felt both my girls quite early on too (11 & 16 weeks), so it certainly is possible, especially since you know what it feels like after your first. It is the one thing I miss most when I'm not pregnant ... I love it! :o

My bump appeared very early on too 2nd time round (as it is now) - everything knows where to go! :)

Firawla · 13/01/2011 17:54

so sorry if :(

MrsStevo · 13/01/2011 18:31

I'm so so sorry to hear your sad news ifatfirst. Take care of yourself x x x

nickstermum · 13/01/2011 18:51

Klouits called a blighted ovum, the most common form of miscarriage there is (i was told by the consultant).

nickstermum · 13/01/2011 18:52

OMG have my swine flu jab tomorrow. EEK
We are having a family outing! DS is high risk due to chest problems, DH is high risk due to asthma and therefore so am i due to pg. They arent immunising healthy kids, but are looking at each requested case on individual merits which i think is quite good.

davidtennantsmistress · 13/01/2011 19:24

if - I am so very sorry, please be kind to yourself.

nicks - good luck to you all hope you ahve no side effects.

little miss - wow that soon, was 16 weeks with DS so keen to see if I do feel anything sooner this time around.

Klou - agreed love the title but not sure the other anti natal threads would agree lol. was shocked to see a due in sept thread going thou - seems really odd to now have a thread after us iycwim.

ref the tiredness I am the same, with DS I worked FT and had the 2 dogs/ran the house, this time around I still have those but DS as well & my god I swear i'm so much more tired now, althou i'm not sleeping when I do sleep (probably why) still least my night visits to the loo have stopped. :)

LittleBeaut · 13/01/2011 19:47

I'm huge this time too!! Sad With my two boys I didnt start showing until 18 weeks at least and now 11+2 weeks and I have a definate bump. But as I'm still at slimming world I know that I'm either loosing or maintaining weight so its defo baby at the minute. Although I dont know how... I am eating more - still on the boil in the bag fish in butter sauce (is it me thats got bigger or have they shrunk... sure they used to be bigger when I was a kid Confused

Wow the September thread has started has it?? Eeek that somehow makes me think that August will soon be here and I have absolutely loads to do... and get... and everyone still to tell Shock

Oooh and while I'm on I started this post on the lone parent bit but as yet havent any answers, but I've tried looking online and get blinded by science. Does anyone know what happens to holidays when your on maternity leave?? My holidays got Jan - Dec and I'm hoping I can work right up to the birth if I can really or as close to end of July as I can. I dont want to return to work until Jan next year but what happens with the holidays I havent used?? Are they to pay me for them? Am I just to make sure I use them? Confused x

MrsChemist · 13/01/2011 20:11

littlebeaut you still earn holiday while on maternity (it might depend on your contract though) and depending on when the financial year ends at your company, you may have to take it before your maternity leave begins. The way it worked out for me was that payroll worked out how much holiday I would earn and let me take it before mat leave started. Had mat leave finished before the end of the financial year, I could have taken it afterwards.

If that makes sense.

davidtennantsmistress · 13/01/2011 20:17

mrs c is right, holidays are accruled whilst on mat leave, our holidays also run jan to dec, what I plan on doing (as my company won't allow for me to hold any holidays over) is use all my holidays in the next 8 months (or have 2 weeks off before my due date) then start a fresh next year and know I have the 20 days to take next year in the last 7 months iycwim.

some companies will pay holidays but mine won't.

hth.

LifeOfKate · 13/01/2011 20:21

If I'm so so sorry, take care of yourself :(

nicks, I have flu jab booked for Monday... argh! Actually, I'm fine about it (had one last winter when I was pregnant with DS), I'm more concerned about DS having his 13 month jabs at the same time, it's so horrible for them :(

LittleBeaut, you continue to accrue holidays whilst you're on maternity leave, it's a legal right. Some companies will ask you to use it beforehand, but some companies will let you use up to when you leave and then take the rest when you return from maternity leave. So, with your holiday year for instance, some companies would insist that you use all of your holiday before you started maternity leave (say 30 days as an example), and some would let you use 7/12ths (so in the 30 days example, that would be 17.5 days) before you started your leave and the rest when you got back from maternity leave. Sorry if that's really confusing! What people do quite often is officially start their maternity leave just before their due date, but take some of their annual leave before that, so end up finishing work a couple of weeks beforehand. Or, if they are allowed to use their annual leave at the end of their maternity leave, they would use it then and thus get a couple more weeks off work at the end. I guess it depends on what way your company works it and also what works best for you in terms of pay, as you will be getting paid in full for annual leave but (unless you're with a really generous company) you won't be by the end of your maternity leave.

LifeOfKate · 13/01/2011 20:22

Hehe, cross-posts, the others said it a lot better than me! :o

LittleBeaut · 13/01/2011 20:40

Right ok I get you I think!! haha The company I work for isnt great to be honest and will be getting the 6 weeks at 90% and ssp after that. Having said that... thats what it was when I had my two boys is that still the case?? So think to stop any confusion (for myself) I will make sure I have used all my holidays before I go on maternity and go back to work in the new year knowing exactly where I am with my holidays. Thanks ladies, you have all been a big help Grin x

davidtennantsmistress · 13/01/2011 20:43

yes it is still the same little b.

MrsChemist · 13/01/2011 20:59

Oh bollocks! I've not been taking my folic acid for nearly two weeks. I just forgot with us all being ill. Sad

mattamsam · 13/01/2011 21:23

So sorry to hear your sad news IFatfirst. (((hugs)))

LOL daisysair, it didn't occur to me that BF also meant boyfriend!! I meant my best friend, don't think that I could cope with a husband and boyfriend and a 10 yr old!!

Have just discovered gingin ginger candy-it is certainly helping with the morning sickness. I found it a Holland and Barrett but I would think that most health food stores and large supermarkets would stock it.

nickstermum · 13/01/2011 21:30

Dont worry MrsC its whats in your body already that counts. I have been taking if for nearly a year and the GP nearly did a dance for joy when i told him!! x

littlebeaut you accrue your hols whilst off on mat leave. So you have your hols (taken or paid) upto when you leave, then during the period you are off you can either then tag them onto your mat leave, or get paid for them.. or just have a couple of weeks off a couple of weeks after you get back! SIMPLES! Hmm I work for a huge company and the mat benefits are SHITE! same as you 90% plus SMP. Hence i start back FT next week!

PMSL at the boil in the bag fish x i distinctly remember sending out DS last time for fish in parsley sauce.... and the one time when i walked into tesco quite hevily diffed, forgetting what i needed and leaving with 1 sea bass and a huge pack of ginormous mushrooms!! Bonkers & random!

Sorry kate just realised i have duplicated what you have written! I know what you mean about the jabs. DS is 3 and still not had his MMR... will have it done but wanted to wait til he was older due to weak immune system. Hoping the swine flu jab wont have a reaction.

My hunger/waves of nausea/indigestion are back Grin I realised i was constipated [tmi sorry] Blush and as soon as i wasnt anymore BAM! Grin happy lady...

Off to bed in a tick...lets see if i can sleep better x..

sisterT · 13/01/2011 21:53

wow - so much has happened in only a couple of days since I last check this thread!!!
Sending my love to ifatfirst - take lots of care.
Totally with nickstermum on causes of indigestion........exactly the same with previous pregnancies and MC. DH has already asked why I can't have morning sickness like 'normal people' Shock Had booking appt on Monday and a lovely lecture about high-fibre diet: shame I'm only interested in fishfinger sandwiches and lashings of tartare sauce Grin

Hersetta · 13/01/2011 21:55

I've made a new thread for you chatty lot.

Be back tomorrow lunchtime after my scan.

nicks you been eating fish this time too?? Because I've been constipated too (sorry ladies Blush) so maybe its the fish eh?? haha

So back to the holidays (sorry am I boring you now??) so if I finish work in say June (half way through the year to make it easy for me haha) I will have 10 holiday to have used by then? As for the other 10 I can either get paid for them... if work are kind enough to agree to that or... take them next year??

LittleBeaut · 13/01/2011 21:59

Oooh good luck with your scans Hersetta!! x
