Leilandri · 13/01/2011 12:55

hey SMummyS 2nd time mummy here.
I have severe osteoarthritis in my right hip, so it continually hurts :(, but I have been getting lower back pain too. I'm 10 weeks today, so I think it is just everything moving around down there, but if you are concerned especcially with cyst, then call your midwife. X

nickstermum · 13/01/2011 13:11

2nd timer here, but its my 3rd pg.

is anyone else not sleeping great.. ?

i had insomnia during MC in Aug and i have it now so its playing on my mind. I think I am just exhaused. I dont feel tired, i feel drained..climbing the stairs is a chore. My own fault been going to bed too late, DS waking me in the night then struggling to get back to sleep..new role at work which is a monster so i think its all things contributing!!

IF you are in my thoughts lovely x i had brown......hope you are ok-well not too anxious anyway xxx

LadyGoneGaga · 13/01/2011 13:21

Ah, same day as me DDas. I'm the same, was charting and using OPK's so not sure I believe these dates. And my 8 week scan said 29th! But baby will come when he/she's ready whatever the official date is!

Leilandri · 13/01/2011 13:22

I've been struggling to sleep for the last 4 nights now. Go off to sleep ok, then wake after 1-2 hours and can't go back. I've been going to the loo, had hot drinks, listened to soothing music on ipod, put lavender balm on temples etc.... basically tried everything.
It's driving me mad, as I have DS to take care of in the day and he doesn't understand why Mummy is so tired :(

I'm 10 weeks today, and I swear that I can feel B2 moving about, is that too early.. am I going mental?!!!

LadyGoneGaga · 13/01/2011 13:26

The tiredness if the worst thing for me now the nausea has eased, Nickster. I generally fall asleep putting DS to bed so by 9, then he wakes me up in the night but feel like a zombie at work at the mo. I'm sure what you are experiencing is completely normal, Nix. I've heard lots of pg ladies feel exhausted and struggle to sleep as well. But also might be that your iron levels are a bit low - try taking some Spatone as that may be making you feel drained. I'm taking it again for same reason.

CappuccinoCarrie · 13/01/2011 13:27

smummys sounds like you need to get that pain checked out, hope it subsides for you. I had SPD last time and it was often near my hips and pelvic region, but can't remember how early it started.
if we can't wait to hear how its going for you.
Thread title, I wondered about something like "eating our way into the second trimester". Although some mums are only 7 or 8 weeks so I guess we might finish the thread before everyone gets to 12 weeks!
Time to put another pie in the oven Grin

Hersetta · 13/01/2011 13:30

Hello ladies,

glad all the scans are going well and special contrats to Mrs SteveO on the twins. How exciting...and terrifying!!

I have my nuchal scan tomorrow morning so I'am crossing all fingers possible.

Will have a think about a new thread title.

mattamsam · 13/01/2011 13:35

Hi,
Just wanted to introduce myself-I am pg with my second dc who is due 18/08/11. There will be a 10 year age gap between my two children so almost feel like a first time mum again! Haven't told anyone but my dh, dc and bf, planning on telling the family after the 12 weeks scan.

Look forward to getting to know you all.

MrsStevo · 13/01/2011 13:36

Ifatfirst I have everything crossed for you. I won't say I know what you're going through, but I know how scary it is when you see blood. As everyone else has said, brown is good though. Hope they get you seen quickly and put your mind at rest. Good Luck and keep us posted.

I have had a 'first' today - my first button on my trusty work trousers just pinged off in the car park! I would love to blame the little people growing inside me but suspect it has more to do with the constant need to eat at the moment!! Have ordered some waistband expander things off the internet so hopefully i won't have to transfer into maternity clothes just yet - would be a bit ridiculous at 7.5 weeks!!!

Also, I am SHATTERED. I "worked from home yesterday" afternoon with the intention of doing some paperwork but actually fell asleep for 3 hours!! Disgraceful. Never felt so tired in all my life :(

SMummyS · 13/01/2011 13:43

Capp if it's still hurting in the morning il call midwife, consultant did tell me some pain is normal with my cyst as it's fighting for room with baby. DP is not letting me come to work tomoro if its hurting

LittleBeaut · 13/01/2011 13:47

nicks I too have been having a terrible time sleeping, an I'll be honest with you... I looking shocking!! I swear by the time I get around to telling everyone they will go "tell us something we done know!!" But what I have discovered is horlicks. Now I dont like horlicks as a rule but everytime the advert came on I was licking my lips then thinking urgh. Anyway some jumped off the shelf and into the trolley in the supermarket last week so I gave it ago... its lush... I cant get enough of it. And I am sleeping much, much better now too!! Maybe worth a try for you too??

If I have been logging on and off at work today to see if you have been on a posted - how naughty of me Blush. And just want to let you know that I still have everything crossed for you.

bettyboo83 · 13/01/2011 14:43

Hi Mattamsam

I've got everything crossed for you If and good luck with your scan tomorrow Hersetta

I am also absolutely knackered and am on a night shift tonight Sad Hats off to all the mummies who already have small children - I babysat my friends 10-month old yesterday and was shattered last night! I don't know how you are all doing it!

KLou111 · 13/01/2011 14:50

If I hope everything goes ok. I had exactly the same last week. I had brown NYE night, then every morning from the following Monday, only when I wiped though (sorry if TMI) spoke to MW Thursday morning (after being pushed by my mum) and got me into EPU for a scan last Friday morning.
Everything is OK in there and was so good to see our little one. First time have ever been pregnant so quite a surreal experience! Yes brown is good compared to red, but they are better to be safe than sorry especially as all my symptoms disappeared too.

Fingers well and truly crossed for you hunny, I'm sure you will be fine xxxxx

Congrats and welcome to a very full thread mattamsam ! More the merrier :)

KLou111 · 13/01/2011 14:53

How about 'Up the duff, can't stop eating, feeling huge, can't sleep and due in August 2011' lol! :)

bettyboo83 · 13/01/2011 15:04

Ha ha! I like that thread title KLou111! Grin

AddictedToCoffee · 13/01/2011 15:05

Hi all, been lurking for a while but thought time for another post! Just got my booking appointment through and scan date...seems like they're ages away.
This second pregnancy seems so different from the first, constantly feeling tired, drained and all day nausea!! I'm sure it wasn't this bad first time round...end up feeling guilty cos finding it tough to keep my ds occupied through the day when I just feel like doing nothing!

LadyGoneGaga · 13/01/2011 15:26

I like it Klou but think the Due in Jan, Feb, March people might piss themselves laughing at us "feeling huge" though! We have a LOT of growing to do still.

Hersetta · 13/01/2011 16:18

My best effort:-

August 2010 differs....Puking, eating and weeing our way into the 2nd trimester!

IfAtFirstUDontSucceed · 13/01/2011 16:22

Hi all, thanks for thinking of me, it's not good news I'm afraid! :( After being sat in several waiting rooms at the hospital for countless hours, surrounded by numerous happily pregnant ladies and then having a bizzare conversation with a poor English speaking student doctor, who also had great difficulty taking my blood and ended up calling a nurse in (bless him) I had an external and an internal scan and they found there was no fetus, just an empty sac! I have to go back for another scan on Wednesday to see if there is any "change" although, if nothing has grown in 11 weeks I can't imagine what they expect to happen in 5 days Confused Anyhoo - had a good old cry when I was shown my empty-ish uterus, and couldnt stop until I got home (much to my annoyance as I hate crying in public). I don't think I feel as bad as I did last time, as I think I was more prepared for the worst from day one. Now to tell the family - which I'm dreading. Good luck to you all, hope you all have boringly easy pregancies, and I hope August comes very very quickly. xx

IfAtFirstUDontSucceed · 13/01/2011 16:23

Sorry for the one large paragraph, enter key doesnt work on this damn laptop. Oh, Can someone remove me from the list x

KLou111 · 13/01/2011 16:24

like it Hersetta Grin although August 2011 lol, but I forgive you as I'm still getting used to the 2011 thing too!

nickstermum · 13/01/2011 16:32

Oh IF i am so very very sorry :( I hope you are ok - well as ok as you can be.

The very very same thing happened to me in August this year. Got to 12 weeks and started to have a show, so went to epu and just a stoopid empty sack. The sperm-egg combo had dissipated and had been re-absorbed into the sack. It sounds like its starting to come away on its own

Im so so so so so so very sorry IF xxxxxxxxxx

daisysair · 13/01/2011 16:35

BIG HUGS If

mattamsam I giggled at this part of your post dh, dc and bf as I read the last as boyfriend first time round! DUH me.

LadyGoneGaga · 13/01/2011 16:37

I am so, so sorry, Ifatfirst. It's not fair. Gentle hugs to you - thinking of you and your partner xxx
