Ahhh that's reassuring Barbie - thanks!
It seems to have calmed right down now - pregnancy is just a minefield of wierd symptoms and pains isn't it?

BarbieLovesKen · 21/11/2010 11:16

Oh it is. That one got me though (at the time) as I wasnt used to getting pain in the top of my bump, if that makes sense. Glad its eased off.

misshoohaa · 21/11/2010 11:56

O Leroy I hope you can see that your DPs mother is actually very very silly. But to keep you up till 5am - NUTS!!

We had our scan yesterday and apparently 'rabbit' (our previous bump was called 'snail', in case you wondered) was measuring 11+4 - which makes its due date 7th June. I'm aiming for the 15th as this is after SILs wedding. While we were out my dad rang. DD1 told him that mummy was having the baby scanned. My dad says, 'I'll just go and tell that to Nanny Spain'. And then he comes back to the phone and says to DD, 'let's say goodbye now.' And that is how my parents found out they are going to get another grandchild.

Ballet show was interesting. DD1 refused to dance. DD2 demanded at the interval 'Did you even go on the stage?' I watched a long and at times tedious 2nd half with DD1. Got home DS threw up at the dinner table and then on me. DD1 was supposed to go back for an evening performance and a matinee today, but I just couldn't face it.

To add my bit to the squirty cream conversation. The propellent used in those cans is entonox......

NurseSunshine · 21/11/2010 13:26

Christ on a bike Leroy, think I'm beginnning to see where your DP gets his childish streak! Er no, MIL, he is not a baby, he is a grown man now, and should be encouraged to act like one thank you very much Hmm Next time please just go to bed and leave them to it. Ex's mummy has been on facebook telling him he can come and move back in with her if he likes and she will look after him! FFS! He's 27 and is going to be a father, he needs to be looking after the interests of his child!! If I have a son he is going to damn well grow up and stand on his own two feet, not stay a spolit 5 year old forever. rant over!

MOSnorts the stuff in squirty cream is actually just the nitrous oxide (laughing gas) without the oxygen whereas Entonox is the two mixed 50/50.

NurseSunshine · 21/11/2010 13:26

Sorry, I'm so bloody pedantic Blush

KaraStarbuckThrace · 21/11/2010 15:10

Squirty cream is just nasty. Give me the proper stuff any day Grin

Clarkiee · 21/11/2010 15:23

So sorry to hear your sad new minione and 3kids make sure you take extra care of yourself xx

Clarkiee · 21/11/2010 15:34

leeroy I am soooo spotty at the moment- went to a wedding yesterday and no amount of concealer could cover it all up Blush. Never really had spots before but had them on and off all year (since coming off the pill)- hate them Angry

argle don't leave because you are due in May- I'm officially due June 4th but there is very little chance I'll make it that far (most twins are born at 37 weeks).

I've had to remove my facebook wall temporarily (people can just send me a message to my inbox if they need to (and they have been doing)). Put a discreet status update on and the majority of friends, who knew, made a comment that didn't give anything away but then someone just wrote 'congratulations can't wait to meet the two new additions next summer'- Hmm soooo many people know now but I want to keep it from some people for a bit longer (especially randoms I went to school with). I know it sounds a bit morbid but if anything goes wrong I'm worried about the number of people who already know now. Think my DH has told the world and his dog already so might as well give up trying to keep the worlds worst secret!

misshoohaa · 21/11/2010 16:47

Holy crap!

I was just monging out on the couch as feeling like poo today, fighting a cold and dreading going back to work for ANOTHER week tomorrow, so watched that Natalie Cassidy show.

This bit has well and truly freaked me out, as a first timer I didn't account for all of the extra bits! I'm going to be a whale!

Go to 15 minutes of
www.channel4.com/programmes/natalie-cassidy-becoming-mum/4od#3142525 if you want to see what I'm talking about. Shock

jasmine51 · 21/11/2010 17:12

miss know exactly what you mean, lots of bits of that show came as a shock to me....but how nice to be able to just go to a big baby shop and throw money around like that...and go to Champneys for a private antenatal class...off to buy a lottery ticket now!

NoMoreChocBiscuits · 21/11/2010 17:41

That show is one of the main reasons I hate it when 'celebs' have kids. They don't live in the real world. Angry

NoMoreChocBiscuits · 21/11/2010 17:50

Just been reading back through the day and Leroy feeling a bit Angry for you too! What a daft old cow your MIL sounds like. Is she one of these horrid old ladies you see about, face pulled back so far she's got a beard, clothes that are aimed at gym obsessed 20year olds and about 5 layers of makeup on?!

Sorry for missing people out, my concentration is all over the place and I'm slowing getting there!

NoMoreChocBiscuits · 21/11/2010 18:03

SuperSunny I haven't been able to brush my teeth in weeks and had the samething with DS. I try things like brushing them in the shower so if I throw up at least I'm sitting down (feel dizzy otherwise!) and it washes away and eating apples. apples got me through DS, though the last to times I had them this time I've ended up throwing up later and I've kind of gone of them. Will be back on them when the ms goes. Oh and mouth wash.

Good luck!

NurseSunshine · 21/11/2010 18:32

Lol misshoohaa, don't worry you'll be in good company with all the rest of us whales Grin Hmm not sure I'd want a "baby guru"! I'm a bit worried I might get the giggles in antenatal classes as it is Grin

mrsbigw · 21/11/2010 18:50

Your MIL is bonkers Leroy, am not excusing how your DP is being about the baby but with a mother like that he is bound to have 'ishoos'! I thought my mum was unenthusiastic about me having babies but your MIL is something else. You are clearly a very patient lady as I think 5 minutes of that crap would have pushed me over the edge! I agree nurse that it is a mum's job to make her kids capable of being independant. OK am getting off soapbox now.

Is anyone else feeling faint if they stand for too long? Went on a course today which involved lots of standing up watching demonstrations & had to get a chair & sit down as was feeling lightheaded. It didn't help that we hardly got breaks but I really felt like I was going to faint it was so embarrasing. Wasn't impressed with the posh mini portions at lunch either but felt better after 2 mini cakes :)

I use pre-brush mouthwash too & don't go near the back of my mouth until last to reduce gagging, I also have an awful taste in my mouth a lot so am brushing loads.

Re; Champneys. I haven't done antenatal there but if you get a special offer it is quite reasonable to go there & use the spa etc & it is well worth it. My sister & I got a really good deal in January & stayed 2 nights with all meals for £160 each although usually I have paid a bit more. I hope to go again in the new year. The way I see it is that we are all saving money being pregnant anyway by not going out as much or drinking alcohol etc so we deserve a treat where possible.

mrsbigw · 21/11/2010 18:51

PS I don't work for Champneys or take commission, honest!

NurseSunshine · 21/11/2010 19:01

Mrsbigw yeah on my 1st day of placement I very nearly fainted infront of a patient and several doctors! Was very embarrassing as I literally had to hunker down until I could see properly again as there was no time to get to somewhere I could sit down! Blush

mrsbigw · 21/11/2010 20:22

Oh yes I remember now Nurse, well it's not much consolation but you can now feel better for not being the only one Wink. At least we know how to make an impression! Blush I am still mortified now. I think I have spent so long -sat- -on- -my- -arse- -or- -in- -bed- resting that my blood pressure can no longer adapt to me standing up or walking any further than fridge or bathroom. Had to sit down in footwear section of shop yesterday in town & I know to passers by I must of looked plain lazy. It's just a shock to be so bloody weak all the time!

mrsbigw · 21/11/2010 20:23

Must be too weak to cross words out properly too!

knackered76 · 21/11/2010 20:28

Evening all!

Had a bit of a manic day with running here there and everywhere but did get a lovely dinner cooked at a friends, told them the news and then got offered all her maternity clothes :)

Kara - completely with you on squirty, just being hugely lazy and so couldn't be bother to by double and whip. Plus I seem to eat more when I do that Blush. However all this talk of things I hadn't even considered means I might be going back to the real stuff anyway!

Mrsbigw - am to planning a trip to Champneys in the new year with a friend. I love it there and if I could afford it I would live there Grin Getting vouchers for christmas to help supplement my spa habit!

Barbie - fingers crossed you stop feeling so rough soon and good luck with the healthier eating. I've only just started to manage something other then carbs so pretty sure my bloated stomach will reduce dramatically, just when I'm ready to tell people :)

sasamaxx - I've had that a couple of times. No idea what it is but seems to have left me alone for the past few days!

Nurse - my symptoms disappeared a couple of days before 9 wks. Scan showed all fine at 11 :)

*Motherofsnpigs) - Grin fab news on scan, not so much on the poorly ds :( Hope he feels better soon and give you a break from all the cleaning up! I love how the parents were told :) Thinking when the time comes we'll get our dc's to tell as well!

Leory - your mil is bonkers, properly not quite right in the head! I would flee, run for your life . . .. . or buy her one of those 'congratulations you're going to be a grandma' cards for comedy value (although give it to her where you can escape!).

Nurse - couldn't agree with you more, I know they say it's mum's and their sons but really, REALLY Hmm. Is it any wonder there are so many completely useless men in this world who don't take responsibility, they've never been made too (and yes I do know there are also some lovely, wonderful men in this world who we couldn't do without, could just do with a few more of them :))!

Misshoohaaa and Jasmine - haven't seen it but there is so much coming your way you had never thought about Grin. Don't worry, you do eventually find dignity gets left at the door, oh and most of us turn into whales but it's nice to be a whale when you know it's a baby in there :)

Clarkie - know what you mean about wanting to keep it quiet for as long as possible, I feel the same and luckily don't have a facebook page for it to be announced on. With your dh announcing it though, you might have to get your page up and running again sooner then you thought you might :)

Have a lovely evening ladies. Am cream crackered so sleeping very soon!

NurseSunshine · 21/11/2010 20:48

Nighty night knackered, shall be following you up the wooden hill to bedfordshire very shortly myself.

OMG MotherofSnorts I totally missed that bit about your scan Blush I promise I'm not just totally self obsessed, it's baby brain, honest. Congratulations :) So happy for you

KaraStarbuckThrace · 21/11/2010 21:32

So did I nurse! Congrats Motherofsnortpigs,

Leroy - can I suggest you bonk your DH's and your MIL's heads together? They both sound they sound very self-centred :(

Just found a load of my old maternity clothes today!!
