Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

Crikey Clarkiee, I can't believe that with all of that fraternal twin history, and your high likelihood of having twins, you are actually having the completely random kind Shock - unbelievable!
Isn't the chance of identical twins 1 in eight hundred or something? Bear

argylesocks · 19/11/2010 22:34

my scan is tomorrow morning and i'm absolutely terrified. it's the first one and i haven't even heard the heartbeat yet and i'm so nervous to finally find out if it's ok or not!

NurseSunshine · 19/11/2010 22:49

Good luck argylesocks, let us know as soon as you've had it. Bet you can't wait!!

Mummynumber2 · 19/11/2010 22:54

Thanks everyone. I'm beginning to see the funny side of how much of a twat that bloke is. He really is quite dim in general actually and I'm assuming he gets most of his views from the daily mail! Your poor sister sasamaxx. We were very lucky to fit within the narrow band that they're willing to treat in my area, although were told that the criteria changed this month and they're now no longer funding couples where either already has children. Sadly the majority of people get turned away Sad. How's she coping with the news? Are they going to be able to find the money to fund it themselves?

Congratulations stargirl! and good luck argylesocks!

clarkiee my sister has twin boys ( non- identical though) and didn't really have morning sickness either.

jasmine51 · 20/11/2010 09:11

Hi all
Having a wobble today - will add my name to the list after next scan on Monday (10wks). Is there anyone else on here having their first dc? I notice alot of you are on 2 or 3.

Was out last night seeing Harry Potter film and unfortunately discovered that Ben n Jerrys did not make me feel queasy...that could be a bad discovery! The cinema have a policy of not letting in food or drink brought in from outside the cinema and when my bag was searched they wanted to take my banana off me. I told the guy I was pg and that I would puke all over his cinema if he didnt let me take it in...fortuately he let me go but I was quite annoyed that the first person apart from DH I have told is some random guy at the cinema!

How is everyone today? Anyone worried that their ms is getting better?

Sarahmumtobe · 20/11/2010 09:49

Hi Jasmine this is my first pregnancy too!! I haven't been so restrained and have ended up telling quite a few people!!!!

Congratulations Clarkiee - your news is great - will you find out the sex of them?

Good luck with your scan Argylesocks - mine is next Saturday.

Hope everyone has a lovely weekend- we are off to the inlaws so probably won't be signing in again until Monday

Sarahmumtobe · 20/11/2010 09:51

Congratulations stargirl too!

sasamaxx · 20/11/2010 10:04

mummynumber2 - I know - it was really disappointing. They have had to delay for a couple of years until they could raise the money themselves - which isn't great as she is in her late thirties and is well aware of the statistics. They now have enough money for one cycle so all of their hopes are pinned on this. Really hoping it works out for them. They are both really positive - fingers crossed Smile. Really pleased you managed to get funding before they changed the goalposts in your area Grin

12 weeks today - whoo hoo!!!!
Just wish I'd had a scan by now and I would be more relaxed.

bananarama05 · 20/11/2010 10:36

Jasmine first for me too :)

sasamxx 12 weeks today for me too as well! And yes hurry up scan, roll on Tuesday lunchtime for me, when's yours booked for?

I shant lie...I haven't kept up with the last few days so congratulations to everyone where due, I seem to recall twins and a few more scans? Good news :)

NoMoreChocBiscuits · 20/11/2010 10:43

How can I keep up with you lot? Can't miss Clarkiee's news though! Wow wee!!

Right will try to catch up later on when I have the time and battery power. Grin

knackered76 · 20/11/2010 10:49

Just a quick good luck to everyone having scans today. Fingers crossed for happy news :)

catherineps · 20/11/2010 10:53

wow clarkie! You'll have your hands full!! How exciting :) There are fraternal twins in my husband's family but I would think they would need to be in mine??

I am also a first-timer jasmine and banana

I know what you mean about telling the cinema people jasmine - the first person I told other than dh was my dentist!!

I agree with everything everyone's said about IVF, I guess this guy's never been to A&E on a saturday night!!

Good luck to people with scans today. I finally have my booking appointment for next sunday - am so far behind you all!

bananarama I'm jealous - mine is a full week after yours - boo!! Wink

bananarama05 · 20/11/2010 11:08

sasamaxx as much as i moaned to high heaven about not finding out my dates til Monday I guess it's been a blessing in disguise, not so long to wait in a way :)

Leroy DP here has taken up a new level of unhelfulness. Argument last night was becuase I HAD washed up and cooked dinner...and then didn't fancy eating it becuase I'd cooked it. Aparently I should have just told him and he would have done it...it was 10 bloody pm and all he'd done since getting in from work was moan and sit in front of the tv like every other night this week, excuse me for thinking he hadn't lost the use of his legs. I reckon i could give you a run for your money in the scowls department this week Wink although i know I do get off lightly really compared to your "D"P

just got back from the scan! it was so amazing to actually see it! Even Dp said he got teary when he saw its' little heart beating. It's the first one for both of us and he's been wanting one for a while!

I'm glad now that I didnt pay for a private scan because although I was freaked out for not knowing it was nice to see it actually looking like a baby!

it was moving all around and waving. Really incredible.

I feel like I can finally breathe a sigh of relief that a huge worry is over with.

BUT sadly I may have to leave the June thread because it's actually further along than I expected and I've been moved to May 25th!

and everyone who's concerned about symptoms disappearing... i wouldn't worry. my boobs never hurt and I've felt fine for the past two weeks.

So MS (or evening sickness, for me) seemed to go away at about 10 weeks. I think I got off pretty lightly.

So good luck everyone. I may stick around even though it's June because first babies are usually late anyway :)

sasamaxx · 20/11/2010 11:29

That sounds like a great scan argylesocks - don't feel you need to leave the thread at all. I'm sure there are a couple of others who are due at the end of May as well Smile

He does sounds like a knob leroy, have you been with him long? Hard to believe they can be like this isn't it. Is he your other DC's dad?

I'm a first timer too jasmine, and this might well be my last if one always feels this crap! My ms has well and truly come back with a vengence. BTW your name is quite high up on my list of baby names :)

banana I think we're practically EDD twins, I'm 12+1 today and my scan is tuesday morning Grin CAN'T WAIT!!!!!!!

I've been looking at this Blush So sweet though!

bananarama05 · 20/11/2010 11:43

fab news argyle!! Stick around, my EDD from dates is 2nd June so I've wondered myself if I'll end up being moved forward to May at scan next week, not sure I'd want to leave this thread though, feel like I'm just starting to have a clue what's going on (for a few hours at a time til it all move on!)

nurse I have NO idea how I'm going to get through work on Tuesday morning, scans not til 1.30pm so I'm going to be a gibbering wreck! Have told my boss so hopefully he'll be a bit understanding when I manage to get nothing done Grin

And I LOVE the frame and at that price have had to prize myself away from the order button...maybe next week!

I'm ok, I suppose. Scared and sad but as OK as I can be. I don't think I'm scared of actually bringing it up alone, I'm scared of the birth and the time immediately afterwards (My mum's said she'll come but she lives quite far away and can't stay forever, she's a student nurse as well and my stepdad is V ill. She has her own life to look after). I feel sad at the thought of "access" and all that sort of thing. My mum last night broached the subject of me maybe not wanting the baby and she would understand if I didn't but I really really do. Which makes me think, am I just being selfish, bringing a child into a significantly less than perfect situation? Idon;t know.

jasmine51 · 20/11/2010 12:12

Ah, Nurse, how wonderful to have Jasmine as a possible name. Its actually the name of our house, not my own...but funnily enough when DH and I were talking baby names last week it was mentioned half as a joke...and is now a defo middle name if this turns out to be a girl. I 'know' its a boy though.

Ive been reading the big pg book the midwife gave me...is everyone on vit D? This hasnt been mentioned to me.

NurseSunshine · 20/11/2010 12:12

This might be TMgrossI but has anyone noticed that their sweat smells different?!
