Go back to bed then rock - you need to take it easy! It's not being lazy - and the ironing can wait. Surely not everything needs ironing does it?

I slept well last night - but sore muscle still killing and tickley cough isn't helping. Still - sleep is good!

Spoke to simply be about my nighties - due in stock on 16th. Worried it might be bit tight for birth - so not sure whether to hunt something else... that's what i hate about online ordering - you think you'll get it when you order and then you don't - grrr.

Think i'm going to get my lazy bum out of chair and make porridge for breakie - my tummy's been rumbling for last 10 mins, but can't be bothered to move..!

RunningKatie · 05/01/2011 10:31

You're ironing?! Jeez, I sat in front of the ironing board last night and was smiling so much at the little sleepsuits that I didn't actually do much at all.

Got midwife in a bit, will see if bump has engaged anymore. I've got a cracking muscle ache this morning in one side, must get out of bed more elegantly.

For some reason I have the urge to clean our teaspoons so I'm going to do that and then sort out my clothes. Work clothes to the back, clothes for slobbing about in & easy feeding to the front.

Rock - I would go back to bed if I was you. Make the most of it whilst you can.

LadyBubbaAndBump · 05/01/2011 10:39

lol at urge to clean your teaspoons - now that is a new one to me!! :o

Go to bed Rock

LadyBuzz · 05/01/2011 11:00

rock go to bed you have the perfect excuse Grin
Don't iron its bad for you!

I'm like lady bloody muck today, Hair nicely done, Mate took DS1 to school. DS2 at Nursery i'm sat with a stash of choccie, monster munch playing games on facebook Grin

cupcake i'm booked in for the 18th Grin Grin 13 days and counting!!

Pootle78 · 05/01/2011 11:13

Flipping 'eck it's obvious we're all on maternity leave and trying to avoid doing tasks and sat in front of the computer instead, I've never seen this thread move so quickly!

Rock go back to bed! I had an awful nights sleep the night before last and ended up having a 4 hour kip yesterday afternoon! As for your daughter, it's hard but you have to let them get on with it, both my nieces have had problems this year with 'friends' you just need to be there for them and make sure it doesn't get into full bullying and be there with chocolate and cuddles! Girls can be such cows, I don't remember it being that bad when I was at school - all those years ago!

Running teaspoons has got to be the start of something, I mean teaspoons !

Well drum roll please I have packed my bag! well most of it, some bits are still drying and I have no where for my snacks and drinks Shock

Right stupid question alert from a new mum to be - what do you wear to hospital when you're actually in labour?

Today I have midwife to find out if baby is still oblique or transverse, have had some sysmic shifts in the last 10 days so fingers crossed it's worked out where the exit is although I'm not convinced!

Have a good day everyone!

CupcakesHay · 05/01/2011 12:23

Aaah - I love listening to all your nesting! Teaspoons Grin

Lucky i'm at my mum's and she's OCD with tidy - otherwise i'm sure i'd be nesting more! But as it is can't do much but twiddle thumbs and persuade baby to stay where he is til at least 26th (mini mantra to myself and baby now every night)

Pootle SO SO proud of you! Well done. I'm so relieved i did mine before Christmas now. Although thought last night - i might stick a tube of pringles in!

I'm planning on wearing a nightie in Labour - but i know others are nabbing Dh's workshirts - and of course, high probability that you'll end up starkers and not care!

I'm looking forward to midwife tomorrow - I want to ask her some questions about the delivery suite and also want her to check my stupid hip!

and just to confirm - after birth - evne if breast feeding - i can eat pate again? right? and blue cheese etc???

Fuzzywood · 05/01/2011 13:34

Teaspoons?!? Brilliant Grin
Have picked up everything I think I need for my bag, just need to put it all in there now. Have picked up a couple of cheap nightshirts for putting on whilst in labour but dare say I'll end up starkers again.
I also picked up a few things for when we get home, not sure if its of use to anyone but I have paracetemol for the inevitable aches and pains, arnica tablets for the bruising, lansinoh (however you spell it), best nipple cream i found when breast feeding last time and tea tree oil for putting in the bath to help with any grazes/ cuts/ stitches. I used tea tree oil last time in the bath and it helped with stitches. Probably teaching Grandma to suck eggs but piece of advice from my mw last time is to put a few drops of the tea tree oil in a little bit of milk then pour this into a running bath. If you just put the oil in then it floats on top of the water and doesn't help.
Potty training seems to be going well here (am thankful we have wooden floors though Smile. DD at nursery today so wondering how much washing they'll be when I pick her up later.
All of my neutral baby clothes are ironed too, not my doing, my mum did it when she was her before Christmas. She'll be staying for a couple of weeks after bumpy arrives so at least it'll look presentable for a little while.
Cupcakes yep pate etc back on the menu, plus runny fried eggs, medium rare steak, brie mmmmmmmmm hurry up baby Fuzzy!
Rock hope you went back to bed. I'm vegging on the sofa under a duvet and think I'll have a nap in a bit as I haven't been sleeping at all well.

ZippyPippy · 05/01/2011 13:41

You are all making me laugh - you think teaspoons is bad, I was hoovering the curtains at the weekend - that is madness surely!? I've decided though no more cleaning that's it now, a bit of dust is good for baby so it builds some immunity Grin

Been pottering round the shops this morning, think I'm finally there with buying everything. Cupcakes, I do wonder if you can just put a hospital gown on for labour which would take away the worry about nighties as I don't have one either (can't find one I like).

I'm in the no ironing camp - I honestly don't iron anything, really don't see the point, especially with baby stuff...

Pootle78 · 05/01/2011 14:01

Life is to short to iron! My stuff came straight out of the tumble dryer and into the drawers!

Fuzzy you've made my day, the only thing I don't have on your list is the tea tree oil!

I don't think I asked the right question earlier about what to wear, I've got a top for actually laboring in, but what do I wear in the car to the hospital (told you it was a stupid question) I don't have many clothes that fit me and worried my only pair of jeans that do may get ruined!

Oops, better get to the midwife appointment!

LadyBubbaAndBump · 05/01/2011 14:04

tracky bums and a top

and if your waters have broken, doubled up layer of maternity pads (and cos we've just bought a new car - well, new to us at least - I've put a towel down on the car seat too Hmm Blush

:o

LadyBuzz · 05/01/2011 14:17

bubba a lady on my last thread advised covering the car seat with a bin bag or 2 as she had to replace the whole seat first time round. Grin

Must must must get some arnica! twas a godsend last time round.

running how are the teaspoons looking? Smile

LadyBubbaAndBump · 05/01/2011 14:23

I never used arnica - does it really help?

must get me some new binbags then Confused :o

About to go and spend money I don't have on new hairdo and colour - hide those grays, (greys?), ready for the photos of me in hospital with bags under my eyes and my overinflated boobs being gnawed on by a big ugly baby :o :o

LadyBuzz · 05/01/2011 14:29

bubba I would say yes it does, I was back on my feet a week after my CS last time.

I straightened my hair and everything for the photos last time - I still looked like shite Grin

LadyBubbaAndBump · 05/01/2011 14:39

no no; my glam hair will totally detract from the crapness of the rest of me and I will look like the gorgeous sexy laydeee that I am >>nods furtively to herself in a mad state of self-denial

Pootle78 · 05/01/2011 15:46

Back from midwife, she's not sure where baby is so is sending me for a scan but may not get it til the end of next week as hospital is backed up due to Christmas and not being able to offer any appts!

bubba hope you're enjoying your pampering at the hairdressers, I need to go and see if I can get my legs waxed, don't think I've shaved them since August (sorry tmi, but they don't look too bad in my defence!)

Crystylline · 05/01/2011 15:48

howdy all!

I love the teaspoons and the curtain hoovering! Think I must be far too lazy, as I haven't yet done anything like that.

just back from the hospital (went on the right day this time!). Bump is ok and so am I - measuring small - 5.5 lbs at 37 weeks, but docs weren't concerned.

so... now for the big wait - and after all this palaver I bet he's going to be late. I'll be still sitting here in February with the tumbleweeds blowing past...

pootle massive, gi-normous congrats on packing the hospital bag.

fuzzy thanks for the tip with the tea tree oil and milk - i didn't know that, but it's a very good idea.

Bubba - Yes, arnica cream is v. good, but go to a proper health shop to get some and not Boots, as the Nelson's one (and boots' ones) only have miniscule content of arnica and load of bulking agents.

You'll get a much more suitable one from a specialists, without paying the earth for it.

x

Pootle78 · 05/01/2011 15:48

Have to post again as I just posted number 666 of the thread Shock not that I'm superstitious or owt! Hmm

CupcakesHay · 05/01/2011 16:07

Agree - fuzzy love milk and tea tree tip. And getting Dh to bring over my arnica. (if he remembers)

pootle spooky - especially after me watching the Omen last night! Bummer on the appts though.

Must admit my mum oddly, said she was thinking of cleaning their car "so baby has nce clean car to come back from hospital in" adn i said not to bother as i'd be likely getting crap all over seats with 45 mins drive to hospital!

bubba sure you will look glam! I washed hair today - first time in 6 days (eek) - but in my defence have been hardly able to move - and couldn't put hands up to head - and haven't left house.... god i sound like a right minger don't i? Grin

YES! PATE! Come on february!

zippy i thought the teaspoons were mad - but curtain hoovering is better!

RockLover · 05/01/2011 17:03

Hi ladies. Well, went back to bed for a few hours, but didn't sleep much cos had to pee loads.

Then when I went to pick dd up, suddenly had to make a mad dash to the public loo as tummy decided to play up....bloody iron tablets!

Have been sat on the floor since before 4 playing board games with dd, now I hurt everywhere! Legs, back (trapped nerves), tummy muscles and my pubic bone is getting really sore now. So I'm having an MN break whilst dd watches children's programmes and is waiting for her baked potato to cook.

Apart from tumble drying I have done sweet FA around the house today, I just haven't got the energy. I did manage to order some cotbed and moses basket sheets though, so at least I have achieved something small.

I also need to take the Christmas decs down later, that'll be fun! Then I'll probably start some half hearted folding of the freshly laundered baby clothes. Just thinking about doing anything makes me feel tired, I so can't wait for this baby to be here so I can have my body back.

RunningKatie · 05/01/2011 17:58

You'll all be glad to know that the teaspoons are looking much better. Grin

Been out for coffee with the NCT mums, house number 1 was indeed mahoosive as predicted.

MW earlier too, baby is still only just engaged, my platelets count has dropped too so she's redoing that to check if it's still dropping.

CupcakesHay · 05/01/2011 18:30

Are the platelet counts a bad thing running?

And i hope it was posh coffee and cakes too!

LadyBubbaAndBump · 05/01/2011 18:45

With my newfound glamourousness and my NY's honours, I hereby announce my 5th Jan congratulations;

Congrats Pootle on packing your bag finally.

Congrats Rock on doing sweet FA today - that's more like it.

Congrats Hmm!! cupcakes in washing your hair for the first time in 6 weeks !!!!

Congrats Running on the teaspoons. That must have set your mind at ease :o Hmm

Congrats Cystyll for going on the right day! (and ta for arnica shopping advice)

Fuzzywood · 05/01/2011 19:39

You may also want to try arnica tablets, I got mine from Boots, the strongest ones they do. They have them in the herbal section. They really helped last time and I used to swear by them and the cream when I played hockey (a long long time ago).
Result with the potty training today, only one accident in nursery today. Long may it last.
Right off to see what I can find in the freezer for my tea x

LadyBubbaAndBump · 05/01/2011 21:09
