Tiredfeet I take the same approach to protecting ds's health by eating his chocolate for him Grin.

V tired today. Had ds off nursery for past three days cos has bad chest so no sleeping in the morning. Want a nap now.... Dd has had her fat juice and is asleep so I'm going to gave to express instead of feeding her and hope she doesn't wake for a few hours. It all gets complicated with formula too. Oh no just started expressing and she woke up so had to transfer to bfing! Prob need to go back to wxpresing after depending on how well she feeds..... Why can't I have straightforward feeding? I think I spend longer doing it than those whose babies are growing fine on just bf!

nymphadora · 01/12/2010 13:33

Dd3 has an advent calendar and the choc is going via my milk, everyone wins Grin

HermyaTheRedNosedReindeer · 01/12/2010 13:43

DS is being a nightmare, he just constantly cries. Totally fed up. Sad

Tysonandthehouseelves86 · 01/12/2010 14:02

My God im cold, no heating as council want to check it so froze all day with an 8 week old and snow outside, putting a note on the door telling them to buggar off till the snow has gone, need to warm up!!!

Tysonandthehouseelves86 · 01/12/2010 14:05

Hermya Hope your ds sleeps soon, its horrible when they wont stop crying x

Nymph Love your way off thinking, brill :)

SeaShellsFiringUpTheQuattro · 01/12/2010 14:16

Hermya :( can you get out? Might drop off in a pushchair?

I've just spent my birthday money- 2 gorgeous wool throws inspires by the weather and that I love textiles :)

I actually have both dd and Ds asleep simultaneously. Not sure what to do with myself! Christmas cards would be the sensible thing not eating chocolate and mnetting!

HermyaTheRedNosedReindeer · 01/12/2010 15:05

Finally got DS to calm with the bouncy chair and a lot of jigging and rocking.

I'm going to have a cup of tea and stick a DVD on (and MN).

shieldbug · 01/12/2010 17:10

hello all! Been feeding/changing nappies/ trying to catch up on housework too much to post. I'm snatching 5 mins now and hoping Harry doesn't wake up.

hermya glad you got ds off to sleep

sam respect for managing to express sufficiently. I found it so hard to keep up when I was doing that. As soon as I had fed him, it seemed like I had to express for the next feed.

Harry is a month old Grinand has already changed so much. I swear he's smiling rather than just being windy and he's starting to grab things and show an interest in more things around him. Xavi, you were so right, whatever new stage they are at, you just love it (sorry, I reference to a post from ages back, but one that has really stuck with me)

Hope you all enjoy your snow. We've hardly got any in NI, but I remain hopeful.

DillyDora · 01/12/2010 18:33

Sam yes I've been meaning to say well done on the expressing, I can't imagine having to express every feed - well done!!!!! Also Xav bfing is such a fulltime job it must be really hard to do with other children to look after.

DS just woken up (yes he slept! snuggled up to me though!) and I think it's noms time for him...

floozietoozie · 01/12/2010 22:43

TMI alert.

O-oh, have had urgent-ish toilet trip and feel a bit weird/sicky. Please not d&v. Can't take it on top of everything else - sooo tired.

x-posted with floozie. Hope you are ok. Hm, are you pregnant?! Xmas Grin

Ivytheterrible · 02/12/2010 00:05

Hey all I'm still here just struggling to post and mainly stalking the feeding forum as have had horrible time breast-feeding with so many problems I won't bore you with. I think I am through it now and at 6 weeks pp it seems to be settling down a bit now.

Had the baby from hell for the first 4/5 weeks with a record of 14 hours of constant crying and no sleep (her not me - I only cried for some of that time Wink) After trying everything with limited success she seems to have settled down on her own and is only waking 1/2 times during the night now so I'm feeling much more human.

I have lots of thread reading to catch up on...

The snow has reached the southcoast! There will be snow on the beach tomorrow!

Sorry, I'll go and read the posts now...

SeaShellsFiringUpTheQuattro · 02/12/2010 02:41

Abfab- it is in honour of the god that is Gene Hunt and my current Life of Mars/Ashes to ashes obsession. It's saving me from the depths of daytime tv hell. I'm abou to embark on the sopranos though, and it is Xmas so it's about to change :)

Ivy- poor you :( so glad things are beginning go settle now you have reached the magic 6-8week mark! until the next growthspurt/sleep regression it all gets better and better Wink Grin

Shield-long time no see! Hope the snow stays away for you-it's pretty but my friends and family have far too much. My idiot dad will tryto drive to work and get stuck in a snow drift, guaranteed.

Floozie-Uh oh, hope it's nothing, as that really would be miserable...

Happy snowman building everyone :)

floozietoozie · 02/12/2010 06:05

Abfab they do the centile charting when they're weighed but if you can see ds growing etc don't bother getting him weighed too frequently. You must be coming up for his eight week check and immunisations soon so he'll have everything measured then.

Ivy glad things are picking up - 14 hour crying stint sounds horrendous Shock.

nymphadora · 02/12/2010 08:02

We have had injection letter for next week. I hate injections so will be family trip out!

Dd3 is getting v determined she rocks herself towards me from dh for feeding & often rocks herselfinto the middle of us for cuddling. She has also taken to shouting at dd2 who comes running. Her latest entertainment is watching people go up & down stairs like Shock Grin

SeaShellsFiringUpTheQuattro · 02/12/2010 08:14

Eeek nymph-we have vaccs tomorrow. I can't believe my little girl will be 8 weeks!

nymphadora · 02/12/2010 09:31

Dd3 is 8 weeks today!

sam12 · 02/12/2010 10:32

Thanks for the positivity regarding my expressing. Smile To be honest as dd is our first it has just felt like part of the having a baby thing- if that makes sense- but am really proud that it seems to be working well for us after failing to bf, tho xav I haven't got other dcs and it doesn't make me sore so think you did well keeping it up for 3 weeks. I do know what you mean about feeling like a cow though Grin

Ivy that sounds awful. Glad things are improving now.

nymph I am glad you mentioned you get a letter for the injections I was wondering if I should call them or not. We have had no post this week so I presume it will turn up soon. Hope they go ok- I am like you with injections and won't even be going in with dd- dh is adament that I won't pass my phobia on to dd.

It is still snowing here. It has never been this deep in my lifetime. Bit fed up with it today- the TV is not getting a signal and all our dvds are still in boxes at the pils. I can't get out of the house because it isn't safe for a pram and I haven't got a sling and I am running out of chocolate Sad Apparently there isn't a loaf of bread or bottle of milk to be found in our village

HermyaTheRedNosedReindeer · 02/12/2010 10:35

Nymph Wow!! Thats gone quick hasn't it.

DS has discovered the play mat and is starring and cooing at the little elephant hanging from the bars. He's been a lot nicer to me this morning, no screaming . Xmas Grin

I've discovered that one of my friends is pregnant and due in July next year. It's all very exciting, but it sort of puts me in mind of what it was like to be at that stage of things. Gosh I've already starting thinking myself 'hmmm when can I do this again?'. I don't know whats wrong with me as my pregnancy was awful at points. Maybe the gas and air is still floating around my system.
