If you look at your milk at the start of a feed it looks thin, diluted, this thirst quenching foremilk. At the end of a feed (from same boob) it looks alot mire concentrated and creamer - hind milk.

When dd is full if snot she splutters her way through for 10mind or so, but by the sounds of it (and with green poo) she isn't feeding through to the hind milk each feed.

Anyone else with toddlers here hate the hours of 4-6? I have just cooked dinner for a tantrumming toddler, tonhave it thrown on the floor as he was too hungry by the time i finished. Dd crying on and off through out because I couldn't settle her properly due to tantrumming toddler who specialises in hitting her just as she drops off.

I am counting down to 7pm and bedtime :(

I do love him, but today he has been a pita and I'm currently ignoring him for both our sanity! Dd asleep on my chest so getting him into pj will have to wait as I am not waking her after those 2 hours!!

Witching hours indeed.

SeaShellsFiringUpTheQuattro · 25/11/2010 18:11

Sorry, the milk thing was to silver, not a random regurg of Nct stuff!!

SilverSky · 25/11/2010 19:17

Thanks shell any idea how long til hind milk comes thru? Or does it differ between women?

HermyaAndThePomBears · 25/11/2010 19:34

Silver Only offer one boob per feed if you're concerned.

Nymph Me and my friend tried and failed to get to HP, we managed to get there about fifteen minutes after it started thinking 'oh there'll be adverts' but alas it wasn't meant to be.

I woke up this morning and my right boob has decided to go stir crazy and had leaked through my breast pad, t-shirt, bra and onto the bed. It's very annoying, I've managed to get left boob to calm down but now just working on the right one. Hmm

Our little heart beat whoosy noise machine ran out of batteries last night. It was right into town for more batteries this morning. I don't know if it makes that much of a difference, but he does settle down and listen when he's scriking at night.

SilverSky · 25/11/2010 20:00

h ooooh what's the hb gadget thing????

nymphadora · 25/11/2010 21:03

Hermya- I looked at everyone to see of they could be you! Dh kept asking what I knew about you & not a lot I could recognise you by(not with quizzing people!) the baby cinema thing is good though. Loads of pram space & no one bothered about the baby that cried for most of it!

Well after being into work today & talk of reshuffles & redundancy I've applied for another job. Pay cut but slightly more hours which balances out. Main problem is I'd be back at work fairly quickly but in the long run it would be better. Less stress, less worry about clients and v close to home. Could pop home & feed in my lunch! Dh is at home for near future anyway but I'm a bit :( about my mat leave. If I don't get it I'm planning on staying off a while as I'm safer from redundancy

HermyaAndThePomBears · 25/11/2010 21:28

Silver It's one of those Prince Lionheart bears like this one. We've got the little box thing in the basket with DS and if he cries or we knock it, it goes off for five minutes playing a whoosy heartbeat sound. If he's settled on me, I'll pop him in his basket and knock it. In my demented little head, I think that I'm fooling him into thinking that he's not been moved.

Nymph I was really bummed that I missed it actually, but it was my own fault I totally mismanaged my time this morning. Would have been nice to have had a nosy, oh well theres always next time isn't there. Thats good about the prospect of a new job. I've been listening to the gossip from my work at the moment and like you I'm very glad I'm on ML at the moment. I think by the time I go back the worst of all the changes should be over.

I bought some of those baby leg things before DS made his entrance into the world and looked at them then and thought 'hmm they won't fit for a while'. In desperation today as I was going out the door late (again) to pick up a friends child from school, I popped them on DS as he was going in the sling and they fitted him. They were over the top of the babygrow, but I was actually quite impressed. I don't know about you, but I've been very resistant to put DS in trousers as they've got gaps in them and I don't want his legs to get cold. I suspect I'll be buying some more of the things now.

Seashells evenings are hell. It's 6-8.30 for me. Dd crying and wanting feedi g, ds playing up about tea, then bed. Even if he doesn't it's still tough. Happy birthday for yesterday. I have a significant birthday coming up in January. Bit more significant though iykwim....

Hello everyone else, too late and tired to namecheck. Never get on jlaptop these days eitherr.

sam12 · 25/11/2010 22:27

dontstop I don't know what she was choking on I looked in the sick but couldn't spot anything and silver it was like that lay on lap move but stood up.
hermya everyone was Envy at how much I can express but I have the leaky problem all the time-I often wake up soaking. It's horrible isn't it? My dh has been understanding but subtly suggested we buy a new mattress as soon as I stop expressing.
nymph good luck with the application for the new job.
Feeling quite proud of myself as nearly finished Xmas shopping have done it all on line as so much easier as I have been doing it whilst feeding dd.

SilverSky · 26/11/2010 01:09

h where did you get it from?

Ds seems snuffly! Poss a cold? Poor lamb!

HermyaAndThePomBears · 26/11/2010 07:35

Sam Yeah it is, I got so fed up that I shoved cabbage leaves down my bra last night. They do say to be careful with them, but my goodness they did work. I woke up without wedges and engorment this morning, yay!

Silver I got it off ebay, I feel a bit like a random ebay groupie at the moment. Whenever someone asks me where I got XYZ from, the answer is nearly always ebay. Poor DS, I hope it isn't a cold. It's never nice for the poor things at this age is it.

floozietoozie · 27/11/2010 12:24

Are you all out playing in the snow???? I've been round my neighbours' this morning eating the chocolate biscuits I got as a present for them to say thank you for their help with lifts etc while I was incapacitated Blush.

We're going to a joint 4th birthday party this afternoon. For once I have the presents bought in time but they still need wrapping and I don't have cards yet. So half organised.

floozietoozie · 27/11/2010 13:45

Sam are you going to try bfing or will you express all the way to weaning?

nymphadora · 27/11/2010 15:44

9pm until 5 am . Dh & I both assumed we'd slept through the 2am one( I assumed I hadn't woke enough to remember it) then got up 8:30 when dd2 bounced in to say we had snow

AbFabT · 27/11/2010 17:24

We have no snow, no sign of it at all. No fair!

Tysonandthehouseelves86 · 27/11/2010 21:26

Been out today to buy a winter hat for Sophie as the normal ones are not cutting it now, got ds a thomas the tank one, he was so happy bless him and his first pair of wellies, had a really good day today. Dd feeding again and so alert its lovely :)

nymphadora · 28/11/2010 08:11

We struggled yesterday for appropriate clothes in the sling. Snowsuit not v comfy as there is lots of baggy bits. Tried lots of layers second time but hands still cold (2 layers of gloves!) and today trying other snow suit as it's smaller

SeaShellsFiringUpTheQuattro · 28/11/2010 09:56

Minus 2 today and out trying to visit my dad- dd warm but Ds is fighting any hat scarf or gloves!!

moonstorm · 28/11/2010 12:11

Nymph I've just bought a massive fleece (men's xxl) to go round me and ds in his sling. Then he wears normalish clothes (great for going in and out warm shops/ house) and a hat - hands and feet are tucked into me. We stay warm together - much easier than trying to wrap him up. We'll be the laugh of the Style and Beauty boards, but we're snug... Am going out to get the waterproof top layer now...

Foir older dcs, I like www.muddypuddles.co.uk their thick waterproof mittens/ gloves are great.

nymphadora · 28/11/2010 12:49

I can't wear anything more than a t-shirt & cardi as Im far too hot! Even today in the snow I was out like that and roasting

I will us eth pram mainly this is just for crowds.

HermyaAndThePomBears · 28/11/2010 14:15

Nymph Have you heard of baby legs? I use them with DS in the sling and it keeps him snug and toasty, you can use them on their arms as well.

nymphadora · 28/11/2010 14:29

Where do you get them?

HermyaAndThePomBears · 28/11/2010 14:35

Nymph I got mine from babykind, you can also pick them up on ebay pretty cheaply as well. I popped them over his sleepsuit and several pairs of socks. Have you tried socks on her hands?

nymphadora · 28/11/2010 15:01

Are they like leg warmers? Found them on eBay. Watching some. Bit obsessed with eBay today as I have stuff finishing tonight and have bids & watchers!

HermyaAndThePomBears · 28/11/2010 15:41

Yeah they are.
