Morning all!

tyson sorry to hear you're feeling rotten. Last time I had tonsillitis, it wiped me out, so to cope with a newborn as well must be extra hard. Hope you are feeling better soon.

floozie don't bet on me for 20102010! Nothing happening here at all, although I will probably have another sweep tomorrow, it will be too late for birth on that day.

vikks I can't believe how long they were going to keep you waiting to find out Harry's position. Thank goodness it turned out ok in the end. Sorry your sweep couldn't happen though. Is a high cervix a good sign, or just one of those things? [ignorance emoticon].

nymph a 3 hour feed! Is that usual? Makes me realise how little I know about babies at the moment. A steep learning curve beckons methinks.

SamB are you ok? Hope the symptoms have finally turned into labour for you.

Bionic here's hoping the niggles become more significant. I kept thinking I was getting contractions last night, but I was half asleep and couldn't be sure. Of course, there's nothing doing this morning.

Hermya321 · 19/10/2010 09:53

Congrats Muggle!!

Xav Get thyself to the chocolate shop and stock up!!

Nymph I hope you get some rest soon.

Floozie I'll take that bet!!

We had a bit of a shock last night, my MIL got admitted to hospital with a suspected heart attack. By all accounts she's doing well and is comfortable, she rang my SIL when she started having chest pains and she took her in. We're still waiting on the results of the tests and I'm hoping that it'll be something very treatable rather than a heart attack.

Apart from that, bump is doing bumpy stuff although it's very sore this morning and LO has decided to adopt the usual position of sticking his feet out the side. It's a bit strange as it's made my bump lobsided.

This is where you all are!!

We are doing well (ish) - been signed of by mw as dd has put on 11lbs and doing very well! I'm surviving the inlaws, just, they are being very helpful but also somehow managed to take over cooking dinner last night from me and make it an hour late Hmm cold water to cook pasta apparently! The builders have also turned up to do upstairs flat balcony outside my living room window, so i have no privacy!

I am currently fighting off mastitis - very sore and a couple of blocked ducts. Not surprised given the engorgement a few days ago but I'm in agony!! Hopefully will stop progressing :)

Congratulations muggle and ninthwave! We have v good taste in names on this thread :)

I hope you are having a good day!

nymphadora · 19/10/2010 10:25

shield it's extreme for her to feed that long and it was one big rather than lots of little ones but usually it's about 30 mins.I know of lots of babies who do spend hours hence all the recommendations of DVD box sets!

hermya hope MIL is ok

seashellsouch to mastitis, I had a blocked duct a couple of days ago but managed to shift it before I got too bad, only got as far as shivering

Just had HV dd3 has good hearing which we were pretty sure about but as dd2 has problems it's good to check. They didn't test when she was a baby.

BackAgain · 19/10/2010 11:59

hermya hope your MIL is ok

Tyson hope you feel better soon

As for me, period pains have eased but just seen midwife and baby is in good position and still 3/5 engaged so am going to get bouncing to see if that speeds it up. Still think I am on for a weekend baby though rather than a 20/10/2010 one!

nymphadora · 19/10/2010 12:07

Just been for a walk to town. Pg hormones still kicking around as I had a go at a woman who got shirty with me for stopping. To let an old lady on sticks finish getting out of the car which took up whole pavement! Dh saw her in a shop & said she stunk of drink so maybe that's why she was narky.

RooBear · 19/10/2010 12:19

making place,
congratulations lilmiss muggle and ninth

hermya hope things are better for your family today x

Vikks · 19/10/2010 12:35

Question: Do you think it?s possible to develop SPD in the last week of your PG or do you think it?s just the baby pressing down?
The ?pressure? and ?walking like a cowboy? seems to have moved on quickly in the last two days. Walking is so painful now, climbing the stairs, getting out of the car and getting dressed took an age today. I can?t really close me legs properly or rotate my hips when I walk now. I?m in total agony and DH is fussing about wanting me to stay in bed, what an end to this PG!
What do you think, big baby head or SPD?

40+6! Sad

SamanthaB123 · 19/10/2010 14:09

I did it {grin]!!!

Ruby Mae was born at 5.50am this morning weighing 7lb 10oz. We have been back at home since about 10.30am. This is our story... I couldn't sleep due to randon contractions yesterday evening, so got up and they were about 6/7 minutes apart but not very painful. At about 11.30 I woke DH up and we timed contractions for a while, set up the tens and, at 2ish decided to call the delivery suite. We sorted DD's out and arrived at the hospital at 3ish. When I was examined at about 3.20am I was 3cm dilated. Two hours later it was all a bit much and on examination I was 8cm. My waters went during the examination and Ruby was born half an hour later. There was a bit of shouting (by me) and a bit of swearing (also by me) and a lot of being cute (by Ruby). I am very tired after all the tummy upset yesterday but feel fine when just sitting down. Feeding is going ok, a little uncomfortable but ok. We are just overwhelmed by how lovely she is and what a miracle baby making actually is. These moments are so precious and we are so lucky.

I hope that everyone who is waiting will be holding their babies soon, I truly know how horrid the hanging around is, but, from the other side, it's worth it...

rollerbaby · 19/10/2010 14:18

Wonderful news! congratulations and glad it was fairly speedy for you - despite horrid tummy before... obviously mother nature!

Having odd crampy feelings downstairs but nothing else! Let's hope not too long now...

vikks my pelvis is definitely more achy but not as bad as you describe. I'm sure its the baby and not SPD but wise to take it easy but move little an doften so your muscles don't seize up.

Mastitis sounds horrid. poor you nymph and seashells.

SeaShellsOnTheSeaShore · 19/10/2010 14:19

Congratulations! Welcome Ruby Mae :) it all happened pretty quick once it got going!!

Boob not got worse this morning, so hopefully have halted progression and start getting better. X

tiredfeet · 19/10/2010 14:32

Hi all just a quick one to say my beautuful little boy arrived at the weekend - a 9lb6 whopper! Had to have emcs as he got himself into very silly position but it was noticed at a stage when it could all be done calmly so was a very positive experience luckily. Too excited by him to sleep, even when he does!!
Hope all is well will try and read thread soon xx

Congrats SamB was wondering about you this morning, glad you were otherwise occupied! Have you girls seen her yet? Or did they have to rush off to school?

tiredfeet Congrats to you too! Are you home or posting from hospital?

SilverSky · 19/10/2010 14:52

Yay for sam and tf.

ILoveGregoryHouse · 19/10/2010 15:22

Well done samb and tiredfeet (been wondering where you were).

Thought I was off last night but random contractions stopped after a couple of hours.

Maybe tonight.

ILoveGregoryHouse · 19/10/2010 15:30

Vikks, sounds like a combo of both to me. Everything is relaxed and ready. Downside is it's too relaxed. But it's not long now.

tiredfeet · 19/10/2010 15:43

finally home now and its lovely to be settling in. sending lots of positive vibes to those still waiting...

(learning to type one handed!!)

shieldbug · 19/10/2010 15:48

Hooray! More babies! Congratulations to SamB and tiredfeet Well done to you both.

Silver, I'm with you on the need for "get a move on vibes". My bump has been sore today and I'm exhausted (for no real reason) but there's still nothing I would call a contraction.

Good luck to all who are still waiting.....let's hope for more good news soon.

rollerbaby · 19/10/2010 15:57

congrats tiredfeet!!

Hermya321 · 19/10/2010 16:16

Congratulations SamB and Tiredfeet Brilliant news!!

MIL is doing a lot better, they're doing tests and there appesrs to be no damage to her heart which is a very good thing and she should be going home in the next couple of hours. They're still not sure as to whats caused it, but pretty certain it's not been a heart attack. The current thinking is a angina attack which is easily managed with the proper medication. I'm so relieved. Smile

Oooo lots of babies! Congrats peeps!

I ended up going to the hospital after 2nd bloody show this morning - so after trace and 'things' was declared fine (trace did show 2 nice contractions in 10 mins, so maybe my body is working quietly!) but will now have to see a consultant next week as they are reluctant to let me go over my due date. The appointment is next Thursday but I am really hoping baby will be here much sooner than that!

nymphadora · 19/10/2010 16:47

hermya good news you can relax a bit now

xsvelli you might get there yet if you are contracting

SeaShellsOnTheSeaShore · 19/10/2010 17:03

Congratulations tiredfeet!

Hermya, so glad it was angina, what a scary time :(

Just been for a walk - I love autumn and was getting cabin fever. It wasn't fast or far but it felt good :) phil and teds is doing well so far

nymphadora · 19/10/2010 18:21

seashells I've had a walk the last 2 days , makes me feel much better. Have been achy after though as I'm so unfit!
