Time for a new thread.

Hope the title will encourage the "reluctant" babes into the world.

Good luck to all who are due now/overdue

Thanks kiwikate the other one was getting a bit of a nightmare to navigate.

Posted on old thread in error so here is a copy.

Diane I am getting really short with people who phone/text/email constantly I am now 5 days over. Have an appointment with midwife tommorow may ask if it is worth doing a sweep. I have an appointment at the hospital on Friday to discuss my options I am really hoping not to have to keep the hospital appointment.

diane77 · 11/09/2005 20:17

i had a membrane sweep on wed but doesnt seem to have had any effect, but its worth trying evey possibilty

mummyhill · 11/09/2005 20:23

Have tried everything else, and am now at my wits end. Really do not want to be waddling up to nursery this week if I can help it because I am fed up of "haven't you had that baby yet" "my god what are you doing out of the house you should be sat at home just in case" let alone the constant phone calls/text messages and emails asking if there is any news.

Redhelen · 11/09/2005 20:23

beatie - know exactly what you mean about the constant worry about a bleed early on and now desperate for a show!! Feel like I have been pregnant for 20 months as the miscarriage, the struggle to get pregnant again and this pregnancy have morphed together!

Diane77 - really feel for you the waiting and the stuggling really takes its toll, having said that in 10 days time (max) you will have forgotton all about it!!

Redhelen · 11/09/2005 20:25

KiwiKate

Does the thread title mean - Olympic champions with low IQ's!!!! he he

mummyhill · 11/09/2005 20:27

Beatie & Redhelen - I think this is why I am gettting so anxious, after my m/c in september, the stress of ttc and then the paranoia at the start of the pregnancy I am now feeling stressed about going into labour. Maybe this is why it is all so start stop.

diane77 · 11/09/2005 20:28

redhelen you nearly made me pee myself laughing!!!! at least they will have some talent!!

Redhelen · 11/09/2005 20:33

mummyhill

I'm sure I read on here recently that anxiety can delay labour - that being the case I wonder if I'll still be pregnant at Christmas!!

But it will happen soon - mother natures chilled about if we aren't!!

mummyhill · 11/09/2005 20:36

Am begining to wonder that myself ohh well I am going to go bounce a bit and see if it helps any.

KiwiKate · 11/09/2005 20:50

Redhelen - PMSL. Good to see that we still have a sense of humour (even if some of us are a bit stressed).

DH has a work-from-home project with a 1pm deadline today. I've been up half the night helping (well, I'm not sleeping anyway!). He's promised (more) sex once the project is filed. Sex has been bringing on pretty good (if stop-start) contractions for a week now - so am hoping this might be "it". Mw comes today - and I'll be interested to hear about baby's position, particularly as tomorrow is my due date.

STM, really want to hear how you found a bloke 9 months pregnant! There's got to be an interesting story there. Really hope everything works out or that at the very least you have someone there to keep you entertained and happy.

DP and I went out for a little boogie last night for the first time in the last 9 months. So much fun! And we actually left because HE was tired. Just felt so good to be OUT!

And today I have been having strong-ish braxton hicks at least once an hour all day. Maybe the dancing started something. Ohhhh probably not. Trying not to get my hopes up since I'm not due for another 10 days and since everyone seems to have had the same thing for at least 2 weeks before popping.

Mummyhill, hang in there! It'll happen soon. Other people are hell though. Can you avoid the nursery run?

NewChallengeforJen · 11/09/2005 22:27

Hello all. I have been reading the September thread for weeks now and feel like I actually know you all, but have never put a message on for some reason. I am due on the 17 Sept with my first baby. Have tried the curry, pineapple and long walk today, but can't face the sperm thing. It just feels wrong!!! Are your little ones all still active because mine seems to be getting more rather than less so. It never stops squirming and punching. Good luck to you all, but I hope I'm next!!

Redhelen · 11/09/2005 22:54

Hello Jen

Mummyhill hope tonights the night!! and Kiwikate good luck with the sex! was having bad cramps & back ache - seems to be going AGAIN!!!!!!!!!!!

Good night xxxxxxxxx

singleteenagemum · 11/09/2005 22:56

Katts - i obviously just still look sexy lol. not put on that much weight, always had big tits and not feeling too bad...it's a bit wierd knowing that i cant see him again now till i;ve had bear

singleteenagemum · 11/09/2005 22:57

sorry hi Jen

KiwiKate · 12/09/2005 01:50

KiwiFruit - how are your "optimal fetal positioning exercises going?".

Good news - mine have been working. Baby is now ROA (only better position is LOA) - so baby's back is to my tummy, slightly right of centre. MW can't understand why baby has not come yet. She said she'd be on standby all day (and night) and is SURE baby will be here soon. This might be one of those rare times where baby is on time (due date tomorrow).

Welcome to Jen - Glad you decided to stop lurking and post. Don't forget to add your details to the stats thread (would post a link but still haven't got the hang of that yet.

Woke up half an hour ago to DD screaming I want my mummy (another wet bed) we seem to be getting two a week at the momment, she must be getting stressed about the new baby. NOw I can't get back to sleep so will play solitaire for a bit and see if that helps any.

KiwiKate · 12/09/2005 03:57

Hi Jen - Sept Stats Thread Here - just in case you struggle to find it.

Mummyhill, hope you manage to get back to sleep

Just got some urgent work in, and as I run my own business from home, am now frantically getting it done. Not exactly what I planned for the afternoon before my due date! Oh well, it puts bread on the table.

Thanks Kiwikate. I really must get the hang of posting links. Am going to give myself another ten mins then try to sleep. Hope you manage to get your work done, I can think of better things to do the afternoon before your due date too.

ych · 12/09/2005 07:09

Congratulations Sallie, Pooka & Franch.
I thought it was all kicking off here yesterday. Had pains from 8am-9pm, getting to be as close as every 7 minutes. Had a bit of a show, phoned the maternity hospital for advice and the minute I came off the phone everything seemed to slow down! Had 3 pains in the last hour so will see if anything progresses. Not due til Saturday so no doubt this is now going to go on for days.
Good luck to everyone else. x

beatie · 12/09/2005 07:40

ych - that still sounds promising. Fingers crossed for you.

Mind you, can I just say I am getting very envious of those who are having their babies early. Now that my due date has passed I feel it is only fair that we form an orderly queue and wait our turn

Redhelen and Mummyhill - I know exactly what you mean about feeling pregnant for ages due to having a miscarriage and then taking a bit of time to ttc. For me and DH we have been waiting to have a new baby for the past 21 months!! I guess I should not quibble over another few days.

I'm planning to spend a nice week with DD (I must be able to muster the energy from somewhere) in the hope that if I have things planned something (that means you baby) will come along and ruin it

STM - I too am curious to hear the story of how you met your new man at 8 months pregnant. Did he aproach you? Sounds like a good one.

mummyhill · 12/09/2005 08:15

Got back up at six this morning and am still having them every half an hour. Will walk up to playgroup and then up to the midwives appointment after lunch. Will deffinatley be asking about a sweep as I am willing to try anything to avoid the hospital intervening.

Kiwifruit · 12/09/2005 08:54

Morning All - and welcome NewChallengeForJen .

Had a day of strong Braxton Hicks yesterday - had a particularly strong one when we were out for lunch and the waitress asked me in a panicked voice if I was about to deliver on the restaurant floor . Don't know what gave her that idea - all I did was touch my belly and frown! All quiet this morning though... Shouldn't get too excited, as due date isn't until the 25th.

Have been waking up in the morning (early ) absolutely starving - anyone else getting this?

STM, you really must tell us the story of how you met this man - we're all intrigued!!

KiwiKate - am going to the midwife today, so will find out if the fetal positioning has been working. I think it might have, as am sure that I can feel it's bottom and spine down the left - hope that's not just wishful thinking!

RedZuleika · 12/09/2005 09:15

Morning morning.

I think I've had my first Braxton Hicks!! (Jumps up and down in excitement...) I was beginning to think that my uterus was a bit clueless - or was metaphorically sat out on a veranda, feet up on a chair, smoking a spliff and saying 'manane, manane...'

Did put the heebie-jeebies up my husband though.

Redhelen: it is true that anxiety (adrenalin production) delays labour (somehow over-rides oxytocin production). This is why I have decided not to attend my consultant appointment tomorrow (no test results to receive, midwife will do bloods at home on Friday, he's just back from holiday so I would probably spend five hours sitting in hideously crowded ante-natal clinic). There is some stuff on the internet by Michael Odent about this issue. However, amusingly, most of the information on google relates to animal husbandry: because presumably it's been realised that your prize heifer will not birth unless she's cosy and relaxed - but the same principle has not been applied to women and the NHS...

Kiwifruit: am also waking up early, ravenously hungry. Might start keeping biscuits next to the bed...

Was briefly woken up on Saturday by the sound of my pelvis as I turned over in bed. Have been having some problems with sacro-iliac and symphysis pubis pain - and although my last osteopathy session was good, it didn't sort it completely. As I turned over, however, I heard / felt an almighty crack - so loud that I was surprised my husband didn't wake up. Since then it's been pretty good. Can only assume that something found its way back to where it should be. Not sure I can reproduce this again though.

Congratulations to everyone who's popped!

LadyLazarus · 12/09/2005 09:30

Morning all. KF - I often waken up starving at around 5am! Today I got up, had some Weetabix and then went back to bed againa couple of hours later!! What woke me up was not hunger but the need for the loo but also crampy pains. They were coming about every 20-25mins, lasting only about 10secs but not very painful really. Still having them, so who knows... trying not to get my hopes up, despite it being my due date today! Haven't ever been able to time anything before, but hey. For those who've had previous babies, or anyone who knows more than I do (which doesn't seem too difficult), do proper contractions feel like period pains? when you are in heavy labour do the pains cover your whole abdomen, or just the low-down bit?
