drom Rastus has a giant head (you may have noticed) - 98th percentile. Grin

PerfectDromedary · 15/10/2010 17:08

Blimey!

Boss just popped in to tell me of her friend who has just had her twins - both 7.5 lb. Can you imagine? Heaving 15lb of baby around for the last few weeks. Ow.

Scorpette · 15/10/2010 17:50

Food I have been able to keep down so far today: 1 plain crisp, 1 chunk of goat's cheddar (PASTEURISED) the size of a lego brick.

Food I have vommed today: everything else.

Units of liquid kept down: zero.

Number of food cravings that aren't of food I am allergic to: zero.

Hours of daytime tv watched through veil of tears and nausea: immeasurable.

How many times I have managed to wash my face today: zero.

Amount I am happy to be pregnant and how much this is worth it: beyond comprehension. Just cried at thought of how much I already love Mah Baybee.

Need for moment of self-obsession: massive.

Gratitude for indulgence of said moment: beyond measure.

Luff for youse lot: off the scale.

Muser · 15/10/2010 18:35

Scorps my lovely, that is awful, poor you. I hope you're better tomorrow. If it continues, please to get help.

rocketleaf · 15/10/2010 18:48

scorpetal dahlink, seconded what muser said if this continues you need to see a doctor. Just wail "give me some fecking drugs you fecking twat" in the same manner as we practiced "where is my fecking baby for fecks sake" and all will be well. If in doubt throw up on him/her.

I love how you manage to be funny even in the depths of obvious nausea wracked despair.

drom Shock nowt else to say to 15 lbs of baybee.

Bessie123 · 15/10/2010 18:49

Hello, hello. Just dropping in quickly to see how you are except of course, my baybee started crying as soon as I logged in so am trying to be quick. I just wanted to say that if you have a big baby (a good consultant can tell), it is apparently better to be induced earlier if you want a natural birth because the plates in the baybee's head start hardening more from around the due date, which mean that they are less able to mould to go through your vajayjay and the baybee is more likely to get stuck. Of course, if you are induced then you are also increasing the likelihood of intervention...

Gotta go but will come back soon and look at your news properly.

Scorps - I hope you feel better soon.

x

Muser · 15/10/2010 18:57

Bessie! Lovely to see you.

MrsFC · 16/10/2010 01:19

Evening all! Just had a lovely evening playing Rock Band with Mr & Mrs hb, nothing like singing Bon Jovi loudly to clear the mind!

Got a bit freaked when it was mentioned I was further up the list, I rather liked languishing mid table, blimey, there really is a child inside me!! I really should practice my yoga more...

Ummm... I know this has been done, and I know it was meant to be a joke, but I would like to confirm that never in my seven and a half years of parenting a boy has anyone stated that boys are more tricky. Mums of boys AND girls. You talk about the gender divide, and yet your ill thought joke just opened a bit of a cravass there. That is all.

SilverSky · 16/10/2010 02:58

Bitching insomnia! That's what happens when you wake up needing a pee and your mind starts racing overtime with things to worry about and things to sort before laying.

I have given up laying in bed cos my hip has gone dead so me and the dawg are in the lounge watching Sky Anytime "I'm pregnant and....... 55". In fact the dawg looks mighty peed off that I have had the audacity to interrupt it's sleep and have made it share the sofa.

Ackshalleee am peckish. Gonna have some Dairylea on toast.

Yesterday I received two texts asking me if the baybee had arrived. Looks like it's started. Wonder how many people have to ask before I scream.

Nothing going on here, no BH, no aches, no pains. Absolutely jack diddly squat.

rocketleaf · 16/10/2010 07:51

sky i have the early morning version of that. Hope you managed to get back to sleep. Text thing is annoying, its nosey and a bit stupid. Don't people realise that either you will be too busy pushing to sent a text or just basking in your achievement for a bit. BACK OFF. I suppose its only cos they care but really.

MrsFC I can get 100% on expert setting on Living on a Prayer. Anyone in the room needs to wear earplugs but for some reason the game is kind to me. :o

SilverSky · 16/10/2010 08:23

rockNroll I was awake from 130 til 430 and then went back to bed only to be woken up by HI's alarm that went off at 7. Fell back to sleep and have awoken from a deep snooze about ten mins ago. Debating whether to get up or stay here.

It is nice that people care I agree but still it's not like it's the kind of thing you would forget to mention is it?"Oh BTW I laid the baybee 6 wks ago - did I not say!!"

Anyone got an opinion on whether I should do as the MWs ask on the EDD? S'posed to call them to advise if no sign of labour/small child and they will come and do a VE and offer a sweep. I think my EDD is three days later and I half want to give things a chance to happen naturally rather than start interfering on the EDD after all it's an estimated date isn't it. Hit me with your knowledge PESHs!

AlpinePony · 16/10/2010 08:26

silver If you want to avoid those texts then I'd suggest taking the pony/curly route and squeezing it out a month early. That way the texts you'll receive will say "hello, are you enjoying your maternity leave?" and you simply reply "'ad it innit.". Wink

Your due date is Monday isn't it? Tbh, you could always go down the route of not initiating the first move until you're ready. It's odd that the onus is on you to get in touch...

MrsFC · 16/10/2010 08:56

Morning! Sorry about the insomnia. Thank goodness for sky is what I say. Imagine the life of our parents when the TV went off at midnight...

Rocket - if you are ever in London - you MUST come & jam with us. Most excellent. I am more of a drummer myself, hb was singing, but I also like to sing to Sex on Fire and Call Me. Its the showman in me.

silver I think if its an estimated date of only three days then follow your instincts and wait. If you are patient enough! And studiously ignore all texts. Tell your best friend to tell them all to FO and leave you alone...!

rollerbaby · 16/10/2010 09:54

Sex on fire is the best song, although my signature karaoke tune is chicago's all that jazz. I like to integrate tap dancing and jazz hands as well to keep the crowd happy. We have abba singstar which is the only reason we have a ps3. How sad is that? I may need to invest in some new material. Apparently singing in early labour v good as keeps muscles relaxed!

I cannot claim insomnia today but still feel buggered.

Friend rang last night whilst I was cooking and asked has it arrived. I can only do one thing at a time currently and said "has what arrived". Oops. Must not forget baybee...

MrsFC · 16/10/2010 09:58

Ooh - All That Jazz... That would be LOTS of fun. I predict that MiniMoo will now be a lover of musicals and always fall asleep when you sing to them. This is what I was telling myself as I was screeching Sex on Fire last night.

Grin@ what has arrived?!

rocketleaf · 16/10/2010 10:05

hehe moo classic candidate for leaving it in shopping trolley and having a wtf? moment while loading car.

Love Sex is on fire, a great one to belt out, have been known to 100% that too as well as Creep although I have to do this weird key change which is not pleasant to actually listen too. (ear plugs again) I am supposed to be getting Rockband 3 for TBs xmas pressie and as he got DJ Hero a few months ago our games spare room is going to be so full of instrument shaped bits of plastic :S I wonder if I should reconsider that now I am diffed? (nah fuck it, if sprout is going to have to learnt to sleep thru Modern Warfare gun fire Hmm so I suppose a bit of singing is going to be the least of its worries) :o

Muser · 16/10/2010 10:07

Morning. I have to go dry my hair, go to pilates, and then meet my mother. I want to go back to bed. It's all too much effort.

I am very jealous of the Rock Band nights. I love Rock Band. We are not allowed to use the drums as it upsets the downstairs neighbours mightily. Although we do now have tabletop ones that might be ok.

Casserole · 16/10/2010 10:09

Silver I would say if you're happy to wait and all seems ok otherwise, then wait. If at any point you stop being happy waiting you can ask for them to come round.

Generally I subscribe to the body knowing what it's doing and it seems often if the body's not ready, then the world and his auntie can have their hands up your netherds and it won't do anything anyway.

BUT if you're worried, or not feeling fab, or just want to get it all over with, then equally I say there's no harm giving it a go.

A bleary good morning to everyone else

MrsFC · 16/10/2010 10:12

rocket - is DJ Hero good? And I too want Rock Band 3 ASAP...

Muse - you are welcome ANY TIME - although I might scrap you for the drum playing...

rocketleaf · 16/10/2010 10:23

I haven't really played it much, it starts off fairly easy then gets hard pretty quickly. TB played it for a bit and then hasn't really bothered with it, although he says he only got it for the cheap peripheral so he can just get the disk when the new one comes out. (plus he has about a million other games to play ) I'd stick to Rockband as its one player and multi player friendly IYSWIM.

Backinthebox · 16/10/2010 10:38

'Has it arrived yet'

'No, but I've told postie to leave it on the doorstep when it does.'

'.... Shock ...'

'Oh, you mean DA BAYBEE? I'd forgotten all about that! I thought you were on about the chocolate hamper I'd ordered.'

Grin
rollerbaby · 16/10/2010 16:15

OK is anyone around? I'm well bored. Did you know dog flatulence is linked to fast eating?

No baby signals today.

SilverSky · 16/10/2010 16:24

I am here. Bored SHITLESS.

So bored I did some housework earlier but then HI came home we walked k9 and since then I have been on the sofa recovering from my exercise. The Hoover is still upstairs along with the bathroom cleaning products and a half cleaned bathroom. Need to finish that off at some point today. Tho at the mo, I cannae be arsed.

Baybee is wriggling loads but no signs of imminent labour. I haz already been queue jumped at NCT!!
