40+4, slight show tonight and mild period type pains associated with tummy tightenings. I'm booked for a sweep tomorrow-should I just head to bed and try to rest?!! Or sit here and drink raspberry leaf tea etc Grin

Ooh exciting! I would try to get some rest and conserve your energy

wonderstuff · 06/10/2010 21:09

Go to bed - rest assured that contractions will wake you up if it kicks off Grin

I had show and pains before a sweep and I was already 3cm when sweep happened, 2 days afterwards I finally gave birth Smile

unfitmother · 06/10/2010 21:10

Go to bed now!
Good luck!

pooka · 06/10/2010 21:13

Bed and rest every time.

Try and ignore pains. Take a couple of paracetemol.

If you can't ignore/the painkillers don't have much effect, then sounds like all go.

sfxmum · 06/10/2010 21:13

go to bed go to bed go to bed Grin
it could be some time and you need all the rest you can get, if it really kicks off you will know
good luck

lisad123isgoingcrazy · 06/10/2010 21:14

Go to bed, and you might be like me and not wake till your 6cm gone Grin very exciting :)

SeaShellsOnTheSeaShore · 06/10/2010 21:18

Grin this is why I love mn- quickest response I know! Going to bed with waterproof sheeting under me and trying to take my mind of things :) this could rumble on for days couldn't it!

I'm useless at this: ds' waters went with no warning so not been in this situation before!

Go to bed - you won't get any sleep though! Exciting isn't it??

onadietcokebreak · 06/10/2010 22:08

Go to bed and update us when it kicks off

ByThePowerOfGreyskull · 06/10/2010 22:14

go to bed and rest. stay calm, don't use up your body's adrenalin before you need it.

Haliborange · 06/10/2010 22:18

Bed. Sleep as long as you can. With any luck when you wake up you'll already be halfway there (I slept my way into active labour and it was marvellous!).
Good luck.

MumInBeds · 06/10/2010 22:20

Go to bed, and if you're not going to bed alone then all the better, if you know what I mean. Wink

PrivetDancer · 06/10/2010 22:24

Definitely go to bed. A glass of wine is often recommended in these circumstances I think! Might help you relax if you fancy one.

Good luck and let us know how it's going in the morning :)

StrangewaysHereICome · 06/10/2010 22:31

Oooooh yes go to bed, get as much rest as you can. Good luck, let us know how you get on - soooooo exciting!!

SeaShellsOnTheSeaShore · 06/10/2010 23:19

Just got woken by more show and ?waters trickling.

Wine is a very good idea...hmm will try relaxation technique first then reach for the bottle that's chilling alreadyin fridge!

Exciting stuff, I hope it kicks off properly for you soon.

Purplebuns · 06/10/2010 23:39

How exciting!
Rest though, when I was in labour I was quite focussed on how tired I was, my keenest question being "if I have an epidural will I be able sleep" neither sleep or the epidural happened but Dd did :o

Goodluck!

PrivetDancer · 07/10/2010 07:50

How's it going? :o

DomesticG0ddess · 07/10/2010 09:55
