MammaK · 07/09/2010 22:51

Hello again - will try and be a more regular visitor on here in future Blush congrats superparty and mamasunshine.
We never asked and scan pic is terrible! we can't help but giggle as we are reminded of the episode from friends where Rachel can't get to grips with her scan! DH and I thought that it looked like we may actually be expecting the pokemon charmander on 20th Jan... watch this space lol

xxxx

crumblequeen · 08/09/2010 09:30

Thanks for doing thread mummychicken

superparty and mama great news congratulations!!

Still just waiting for scan on 17th, probably not going to find sex out but there is an outside chance DH will change his mind!

Have a new car this morning so want to go and play in it but don't dare drive with distracting DS in yet so will have to go out and practice when DH is home!

WalkTheDog · 08/09/2010 12:31

congrats superparty and mama. Roll on 17th for you crumblequeen. Who else is waiting for a surprise?

OOh a new car. OH debating whether to get a new (to him) car soonish or in a year or two. He's been driving mine as it's more comfy on his back/sciatica. Would be nice to only have one car, but as we live so rural it would make life very difficult as OH needs one to get to work, and then I would be very limited to the one bus a day. And when I finally find work I def need a car.

For anyone having trouble sleeping, try putting a doubled duvet under your sheet. I had completely forgotten the advice I used to tell people all the time. Did it last night, and although I still kept waking up, my groin pain was so much better. Still feel so tired, as if all my energy has been sucked out, wondering if baby is on a growth spurt. Have restarted multi-vits with iron just incase it's that.

mamasunshine · 08/09/2010 15:15

Hello...are we going to do a new stats list with the sex (if known) included? Rather than copy the HUGE one? I'll put my stats down incase that's the case.

jobi1 - how's the potty training going?

berrycravings - I love both your name choices! Hope you haven't had much more pain with the inflammation?
Welcome and congrats gallicgirl kktpj and welcome back oneof8! Glad everything's ok.
Huge congrats to everyone who's had their scans - such a relief isn't it?
mummychicken - I LOVE my long, strong pregnancy nails Smile It's about the only part of me that thrives when I'm pregnant!
macmomo - poor you being so far away from dh til xmas Shock I hope the time flies by for you both! Grin at 'punishment tent'!
hannah - love Rory James!
superparty - you've survived your summer Grin well done!! How are you feeling? This pg is quite honestly nearly finishing me off with a 1 and 2 years old in tow Confused Going to start my multi's and iron again think too.
Grin at your ds bf his teddy sarrita how cute!
And Grin at mammak with your pokemon baby! My dh think's we're having a devil child as 1st scan pic is of baby holding hands by head....looks very much like horns Grin!
Have fun driving around in your new car crumble Smile
Sorry if I've missed anyone, you've been very chatty Smile

I feel as though I need to re-learn how to knit...any tips? Have been ill ill ill...it's annoying now, I just need to get thing's done, but no energy! Also is anyone else still breasfeeding? I'm trying to wean ds2 as I'm really really struggling with the soreness, and I'm finding it quite hard Sad Ds1 going through a hitting stage too which is hard work to keep on top of, I try and sit him on the step, but ds2 keeps walking up and giggling at him! So they both think it's a big joke?!! Have decided on Arabella for LO's name, it's always been the name I was going to use and have finally decided I'm going to stick with it. Although really struggling with a middle name??? Need something short (double-barrelled surname) and not beginning in A (AA) oh and not Rose! Hope you're all well?

mamasunshine · 08/09/2010 15:18

17/01 - mamasunshine, 27, pg3, GIRL!

stenogirl · 08/09/2010 16:00

Week 24+3

Great news and excitement with all the scans! and thanks a million for the new thread mummychicken

A big welcome to gallicgirl kktpj and oneof8

My bump has really popped out in front and I'm a bit soppy and keep rubbing it and singing made-up songs to the baby about staying in there and growing big and strong :o
Lots and lots of movement now especially around 10am and 3pm and 7pm - great, my baby is in a routine already! I do get a fright though when it feels like the baby is making a dash for -my fanny- the exit! Anyone else had this?!

Heartburn is a -burning- big problem for me at the moment. Gaviscon is not working. Warm milk soothes it at night and Tums are good but I just wish it would go away... Also my hormones are back on the rampage again... My skin is sensitive at the moment and at night my belly swells up and I don't like BF touching me. I'm finding him really annoying and I keep snapping at him. Hope this doesn't last either. Don't want to lose lovely BF.

Our baby name list is changing lots at the moment. We've been avidly watching TV/film credits for ideas. I'm liking Annabelle and Tom.
mamasunshine I really like Arabella. How about Arabella Jane or Arabella Kate?

LadyBuzz · 08/09/2010 18:21

Congratulations superparty and mama fab news for you both.
We STILL don't know, my second anomoly scan was the same as the first, feet tucked up and legs crossed grrrr!
Still I have another on the 21st so we will see!

DS1 went to school on mon (pic on my profile - i'm so proud) he loves it!

stenogirl dh doesn't even try any more I've growled at him that much!

Hope everyone else is well.

Well done mummychicken on the new thread. Definitely better not done by committee! :)

Congrats on the new car crumble.

Mamasunshine don't know how you manage with the little ones. It does sound like incredibly hard work. I really hope you have some time on your own for you in this pregnancy. And still breastfeeding!!! That has to be exhausting.

stenogirl I told my DH that I didn't love him anymore Shock during the first trimester. I was really horrible and depressed. I did apologise after and tell him that I was sorry. Not winning any awards in the sack - but I know it comes and goes during pregnancy, so hopefully things will improve at a later stage.

Good morning Smile
stenogirl - you sound like you're relly enjoying your growing bump Smile Loving the made up songs...I do that with the boys too!! I've found during pregnancy I mostly hate my dh touching me, and then for the following 6 months or so. But from 6months + post baby I return to my 'normal' self and fall pregnant gain Grin But not this time!!
ladybuzz - your ds looks SO cute...you must be so proud Smile how's he getting on?
sarrita - the me time is something I really need to work on (at the moment it's when I go to work Hmm) Also dh and I have been out ONCE without the dc in 15 months for about 2 hours Shock I bf ds1 throughout my 2nd pregnancy and tandem fed for 2 months, and must say I hated every minute of it Sad...swore I would never do it again, but here I am in the same predicament! We're going on holiday for a week in October so finger's crossed we can wean him then!!

I see we're all equal on the BOY/GIRL/BABY front so far! ladybuzz - hopefully your lo will let you peep at next scan Smile

Well I think I've decided on a name now Grin Thanks for the suggestions, one in particular is very similar to mine so a no go! Arabella May - Arabella - beautiful altar. May - The 5th month of the year was named after Maia, the Roman Earth Goddess. Meaning 'she who is great', growth, warmth and fertility. Well going to visit a friend who has 4 4 and under this morning (i'm going to get some tips!) Although the eldest will be at school. She always looks so relaxed and in control, so hoping it will rub off on me a little!!

splodge77 · 09/09/2010 09:06

hi all, just adding myself to new list. Am wondering how my poor little cat is going to adjust to the upheaval of a baby. His days are so peaceful at the moment, sitting behind me on his little perch while i tap away at the computer. i fear that when baby comes he will hide under the bed and never come out again!!

Adding myself to the list too. My original date was for January and they brought it forward because of the size of the baby. I still think my dates are right (03/01/11) as I'm 5'10 and so is DH, so baby is probably just tall!

maybe we could have a seperate thread for the stats - they did that on the dec thread, means we can find it easier to have a look and keep up to date.

mamasunshine I retook up knitting last year. What I did was get some DK (double knitting wool) and some size 4 needles from my mums house that had been there since I was a kid. You might find it easier to go for a slightly chukier wool and bigger needles. Try not to buy a wool that has bits sticking out of it as it makes it difficult. I then tried to see if I remembered - found the casting on difficult, the net is a great place, looked at some diagrams and also on you tube. Quite a few patterns on the net - some are from USA and use different words. Found a good baby and kid easy knitting books by Claire Montgomrie (?sp) in our library.

Glad to hear that others are also not overly "romantic" at the mo, I had heard that in the 2nd trimester you got very horny, still waiting! Mind you OH not up to much at the moment with his back pain etc

LadyBuzz · 09/09/2010 17:42

mama lovely name! DS is loving school so far no problems leaving him, he seems happy - i'm so pleased!

mummychicken · 09/09/2010 19:55

22w + 5

It was the first day back for our kids today. I could see a couple of nice kids whispering and looking at my tummy. Eventually one boy pluck up enough courage and whispered "Miss, are you pregnant?" I said " Are you saying I've got fat" The poor boy went red as a beetroot!! I did tell him but I couldn't help making him squirm!!
