i started bleeding with lots of clots and had pain this morning. Am just waiting for doctor to ring me back. I have just passed something that looks like it could have been 'it' (sorry if TMI) Have had 3 miscarriages before and it feels like deja vu again. DH is miles away and can't get home.

Am totally gutted.

I would second what WWB said about further bleeding or pain being poss ectopic, would hate you to go through what I went through - any pain in your shoulder or elsewhere phone ambulance immediately.

Don't want to scare anyone, but I didn't know the symptoms of EP and wish I had.

Hope everything works out for you and all is well x

just found this thread - so sorry Titania. Echo all the well worded sentiments regarding your Dh?s boss (AAAAGGHH) and your GP...cannot believe that you have waited two days for this scan. Hope that today goes by gently for you and that you get some answers today. Will be thinking of you xxxx

HellyBelly · 08/06/2005 08:17

Good luck Titania, I know how draining all the waiting is. Mine happened on a Friday evening and when we called the Dr, he said we had to wait until Monday morning to make an appointment! Some Dr's have no idea!

Thinking of you! xxxx

Titania · 08/06/2005 09:27

Best of luck Titania. It is going to be hard for you whatever happens, and it is terrible that you have to face this without dh but surely knowing the truth will be better than not knowing where you are?

Thinking of you.

Carla · 08/06/2005 09:40

Titania, just found this. Do you want to give me an email, or call?

lilaclotus · 08/06/2005 09:46

good luck and do take care.
i can't believe your dh's boss is being so horrid.

spacecadet · 08/06/2005 11:58

What???? if your dh's boss sacked him because hewas taking a day off to take his wife to hospital, your dh would have grounds to take him to a tribunal, this is classed as compassionate, ffs what kind of monster is this guy????.
Is anyone looking after the children?? how are you getting there???

Titania · 08/06/2005 12:00

up to now FIL is looking after the kids and i am getting a train and a bus up there

DH hasnt got a contract so he could just sack him

OP posts:
Blackduck · 08/06/2005 12:06

Not an employement lawyer (not even a lawyer), but can't believe that not having a contract means they can do anything they like. Certainly your rights are pretty non-existant in the first year (found that out the hard way), but beyond that you must be covered by some legislation or other!

Titania · 08/06/2005 12:12

he has been working for him for 2 years.

his boss is horrible and always degrading DH. He said to him that if he could find someone else to work for him then he would fire DH on the spot.... DH has been looking for and applying for other jobs for ages but not got anything else yet

OP posts:
WigWamBam · 08/06/2005 12:18

If he's been working there for two years then he has rights. Why doesn't he have a contract?

Titania · 08/06/2005 12:19

he is the only eployee of this bloke so basically he cant be arsed to draw one up for him

OP posts:
jampots · 08/06/2005 12:19

think you need to speak to Freckle/Sis Titania - they're really lovely

Titania · 08/06/2005 12:19

who?

OP posts:
jampots · 08/06/2005 12:20

from what I remember, a contract can be "implied" ie. the terms can be just understood and not written down. Whatever is the norm becomes the terms of hte contract. He cant have terms less favourable than the statutory employment terms.

jampots · 08/06/2005 12:22

Freckle and/or Sis - I think they're employment lawyers - they both helped me loads with my work probs last year and this year now Im going to tribunal

bundle · 08/06/2005 12:23

i think jampots is right, i heard a bit of a Radio 4 phone in where a woman didn't have a contract and they advised her to draw one up herself, based on "working practice" ie what normally happened during a week/month including payments (bank details can confirm this) and if it's been going on for some time it's definitely an implied contract.

Blackduck · 08/06/2005 12:24

Jampots - thats my understanding too for what its worth..
