i started bleeding with lots of clots and had pain this morning. Am just waiting for doctor to ring me back. I have just passed something that looks like it could have been 'it' (sorry if TMI) Have had 3 miscarriages before and it feels like deja vu again. DH is miles away and can't get home.

Am totally gutted.

Definately kick and scream for a scan... My friend had the same thing with twins.

really sorry to hear this Titania, hope your DH is home soon to comfort you.

(BTW, it was me that posted that I lost DS, didn't realise how it sounded until I read it again after I had posted it).

good point giraffeski.

they will want to check there are no 'retained products' (sorry, horrible phrase) as that can cause serious hemorraghing (sorry spelling?)

suedonim · 06/06/2005 16:42

So sad to hear this news, Titania. Take care of yourself.

Nightynight · 06/06/2005 17:35

Titania, sorry to read your bad news. Been there twice in a row myself. I went to A&E for checkups just to be sure. best wishes.

SPARKLER1 · 06/06/2005 17:39

Sorry to hear all this Titania. I have, thankfully, never been in this situation so I don't know how things work. If I was I wouldn't hesitate for a second and would be straight to the drs/hospital for a check and the thought of waiting until tomorrow would be totally out of the question. Do hospitals not treat this as urgent then?

Thomcat · 06/06/2005 17:42

It's happened to me twice, once it had to be removed as it didn't have a heartbeat but didn't come away of it's own accord and the 2nd time I saved the thing that came out of me and took it to the GP (! - ick - sorry) and he just said 'yes looks like an early mc, sorry' and sent me home.

So sorry

Agree that you need to kick up a fuss for a scan, especially as you don't know dates. You need to check everything is as it should be. An infection or omething is not what you need right now.

Titania · 06/06/2005 19:53

the bleeding has completely stopped.....just like that....not sure whats going on....if it will start again or what....will wait and see what tomorrow brings i guess.

DH is home now and is putting the kids in bed as I speak. Then its a ready meal for tea and my bum is not moving off the sofa all night im afraid....

just want you to know im thinking of you titania.

kid · 06/06/2005 20:45

Even if the bleeding has stopped, you should still have a scan (IMO) just so you know whats going on.

Titania · 06/06/2005 20:50

yes. DH has just run me a bath so im going to relax for a bit then go to bed. thanks everyone. goodnight x x

you really need to go to epu and get scanned, sometimes you need a d&c in case you have retained products, i appreciate that the gp are right in saying there is nothing they can do, but at the same time he/she should have referred you for a scan.also, please try not to torture yourself with the possibility that you may have passed a recognisable fetus, if you were only 6 weeks as you suspected(you said preg test last week was neg)there wouldnt really have been anything like that to see as such, no consolation i know, but as i said before push for a scan, at the end of the day, you had no idea how preg you really were and could have retained products.so sorry that this has happened

Lonelymum · 06/06/2005 22:01

When this happened to me, I rang the out of hours GP and he started arranging for me to go to the scan department the next morning - actually contacted the hosp for me. Then, as I got a bit hysterical, he organised an ambulance to pick me up and I spent the night in hosp. The next morning I had the scan that showed, incredibly for me, that I was still pg. I am not suggesting you demand the same - I guess I over-reacted - but I do think you should get a scan done. If nothing else, don't they need to check you have cleared everything out? (sorry, not very sensitively put....)

Hulababy · 06/06/2005 22:02

I would say that especially as you seem to have stopped bleeding so quckly, that you do need to go and have a scan to check all is okay.
