Gosh I'm sorry TW and Dee if I have bought any nastiness into this thread for you or contributed in anyway to making you feel worse, that was not my intention.

Just to offer some more information on myself - my daughter Mirrin was born with a rare syndrome that caused brain damage in the womb.

We did not know this until she was about 4 months old (we knew she had brain damage and it was suspected that it was genetic, but no clue as to what/why).

She died at home a month after she turned two - as a result of not having fully recovered from Pneumonia (9/03/06)

I have had a son since (he's 2 now) and also a twin pregnancy from which I have a daughter (6 months)

I feel very lucky some days and so thankful for what I have and then other days I feel overwhelmed from missing my daughter and grief for my unborn twin.

As I mentioned on another thread - not many people mention Mirrin anymore. I know a lot of the comments we had at the time of her death and since are along the lines of it being a release for her or a relief in some way, but I don't feel like that having known and loved her so well/much.

Anyways, that's pretty much me, I hope I fit in here in some way or form!

travellingwilbury · 09/10/2009 19:34

You fit in here perfectly TPS , please don't worry about all the other shite that is going on at the minute .

Thank you for telling us about Mirrin and your other baby , I know how hard it is to see it all in black and white . Big hugs to you .

Please don't let the other stuff put you off xx

Hi girls

back from a lovely holiday in the borders.. we were lucky with the weather and we had great fun at the beach, alnwick castle and east links animal park

I dont know if any of you have come across a story in the paper in the last few days .. a 3 year old girl who had a cough. Was taken to the hospital twice.. was given steroids once. The second visit resulted in them being sent home and minutes later the little one passed out and never recovered consciousness.
Turns out the little girl was in Ross's nursery. It does bring it all back..

We didnt know the family but I felt compelled to write them a note anyway.Poor poor family

Olissa · 09/10/2009 22:10

Thank you all for the birthday wishes

TPS, thank you for telling us about Mirrin and your other little one - Mirrin is a beautiful name - I have never heard it before!

Dee, I am not surprised you are fed up. I hope you manage to get some rest over the weekend. We are all barking like sealions with this cough but I only have DS and I'm not on my own.
Hope you all feel better soon.

I was wondering where you'd got to Frasersmummy - glad you had a good holiday but sorry to hear about the little girl at nursery. I'm sure her parents will appreciate that you wrote to them.

Deemented · 10/10/2009 07:09

I'm really sorry about moaning last night - just needed somewhere to vent is all. Hope i haven't offended any newcomers or anything.

Hope today's a good day for you all x

What are you apologising for Dee? I think you're quite within your rights to have a bitch about your dp's ex. I hope your dp can sort the situation out.

And there's no need to apologise either tps. I don't think it was the suject matter that made people doubt Dizzy, more inconsistancies in her story.

Thank you for telling us about Mirrin. Would you like to tell us about your lost twin too?

Hi FM, glad you had a lovely holiday. I hadn't heard about the death of that little girl. How tragic for her and her family. I am sure they will really appreciate your note.

Hello everyone, just back from a lovely family holiday up north. Fab weather, good company and some nice family time together. Went back to some special places to remember Gregor too.

The days before we left I was so grumpy, emotional and really not in good form at all. Then it dawned on me what was wrong - last time we went on holiday we were going to scatter some of Gregor's ashes this time is the start of how it is forever now. I was packing to go away without my crazy wee lad emptying the bag as quick as i was packing it! It was a real sense of this is it - now deal with it.

Sounds like i missed a bad week on mumsnet - I hope that DM gets whatever support would help. Havent read any of the threads but I think i got the gist of what's been happening. Really Sad.

Anyway, this week I'm supposed to be meeting my team leader from work (he cancelled the last meeting we arranged) so here's hoping this one goes ahead as planned. Am thinking i need to try to get back to work and face that before i have to start dealing with Christmas!

Hugs to all, xxxx

Good morning girls. Awful news about Stephen Gately passing away (Boyzone). Death is no respector (is that a word) of fame or money is it? He was just 33 years old

OP posts:
ThePrettiestStar · 11/10/2009 10:22

Hi all,

ppm, sorry you were so sad, it always hits you at funny times doesn't it?

Mad busy yesterday - my husband went to see the Ireland/Italy game in Dublin so I was left with two sick/teething/grumpy (delete as appropriate!) children.

Yes I just read about Stephen Gately - very sudden, his poor husband and family.

Thelighthousekeeper · 12/10/2009 09:23

Good Morning ladies, hope everyone is okay today. DH is off to Germany today with work for the week

ILikeToQuickstepItTangoIt · 12/10/2009 12:36

What a bummer LHK. My dh is going to be working away for four days a week for the next 3 weeks.

I refuse to dread it. It's got to be done. I have to cope - plenty of other mothers do. I WILL be a strong and independant woman

shabbapinkfrog · 12/10/2009 19:27

Evening my friends - how is everybody? xxx
