Welcome to our santuary and haven ladies.

Many thanks for Frasersmummy for passing the baton onto Cole and I. I am touched and hope I can do all our lo's justice.

For any people wanting to join, don't be shy. We cry, we rant, we smile, we laugh - whatever we feel like we need to do.

Shabs that was a great song

My mum used to sing that to Harry but I must admit it was more the first version than the second

Good morning to all , how is everyone doing ?

All ok here , I am planning a busy housework day today so if anyone fancies giving me a kick up the bum then please do

shabster · 12/01/2009 07:23

travellingwilbury · 12/01/2009 07:27

Hiya Shabs , how you doing today ?

shabster · 12/01/2009 07:34

Not too bad thanks - its very dark here!!! Keep checking the time because its so dark!!

Need everybody to send positive thoughts to Tom at about 10.30am today. He has to do cross country running again in PE He is not very sporty All his other subjects are no problem to him but PE is bad! Last week they did their first run and it was minus 6 degrees here! Today it is pouring down. I know its something we all have to do but..........

hazygirl · 12/01/2009 07:37

hi girls hope everyone ok ,shabs day 12 still on coke, maybe this is gonna go right.
i will catch up with you later as just finished work and im worn outxx

shabster · 12/01/2009 07:39

WOW Hazy - keeping everything crossed for you here

travellingwilbury · 12/01/2009 07:44

That sounds horrible , I remember those cross country days , we used to sneak to a friends house and have a drink then meat them all up at the end

Probably not so easy to do that nowadays

shabster · 12/01/2009 07:53

I was very sporty at school (you wouldnt think that if you saw me now) I did a different sport every night after school and swam for the county BUT Tommy is very academic, a real computer geek It drives him round the bend if he cant do something well......it took him 14 minutes last Monday and they have to get to 10 minutes or under.

travellingwilbury · 12/01/2009 07:57

Well you have to admire his stamina , I used to love playing hokey and team sports but cross country was just horrible and it was never done in the sunshine it was always when it was wet / cold . In our school at least it meant the teacher didn't have to be outside with us as they would tell us where to go and then go in the staff room for a cuppa .

Morning folks.

Tis my birthday today - the first one since hubbs and my mum died... and the first one ever that i've not had a card to open when i woke up. It quite strange - almost surreal. Is it awful that i just can't wait for it to be over?

Hope everyone has a good day

shabster · 12/01/2009 08:41

Awww Dee - Happy, happy birthday from darkest Lancashire. We do a lot of candle lighting for each other on here so....in your honour I am just lighting my new candle - vanilla and caramel - that sounds good enough to eat. I cant imagine how you are feeling - just wanted you to know we are sending our love from Shabster Towers.

Deemented · 12/01/2009 08:44

Thank you Shabs

I have lots of vibes coming from Lancs atm - that's where my family live and where i grew up til i was 13.My family live in Rossendale.

I've just had a rousing chorus of Happy Birthday from boyo - he's really excited bless him, and i've promised him we'll have a cake with candles later too

lottiejenkins · 12/01/2009 08:45

Happy Birthday Dee........I'm back at work today,,,,,,,,,,and dont want to go!!!

shabster · 12/01/2009 08:53

Dee thats not far from me - you sounded brighter in your last post - kids are just fantastic aren't they - it always worries Tommy that I dont get stuff for myself at Xmas. I always explain that as long as there is enough money to buy him and Dan something I am not bothered. He doesn't 'get' what being a parent is all about

Oh yes you have to have a cake - you have promised now

Lottie - head up, smile painted on and go get 'em love xxx

lottiejenkins · 12/01/2009 09:04

You know why i dont want to go Shabs!!

shabster · 12/01/2009 09:11

I do love......just swear in your head or out loud in Greek - remember the word MALAKER use it in a kind of chant. Just hope that nobody speaks any Greek cause it is a very rude word

lottiejenkins · 12/01/2009 09:19

Thanks Shabs xx

verygreenlawn · 12/01/2009 09:23

Ah, now I LOVE cross country/running outside - I swear its kept me sane over the last 6 years. Just getting tired and sweaty and muddy seems to blot out all the negative stuff in my head, at least for a while.

BUT - its different when you're being forced to do it. Even though I liked running at school I used to dread cross country runs because we had to pound the streets in our PE kit which was purple and orange and not a good look ...

We used to have to do cross country in our pe shirts and navy blue knickers not a great look when you are 16 years old and have a figure like Dolly Parton

ILikeToMoveItMoveIt · 12/01/2009 10:26

Happy Birthday Dee, it will be a hard day but I hope you have a chance to smile and enjoy the day to.

Am pmsl at Shabs, aka Dolly Parton

Back to the norm then - you lot are always really busy chatting when I'm not around and there are millions of posts to try and catch up on!

Thanks for the big hugs and slobbery kisses 9actually, I don't think anyone actually mentioned slobbery kisses, but I'll just pretend!).

Happy birthday Dee!! I don't think we've actually met but a birthday is always something to celebrate, soI hope you have a great one!

It's nice to be able to share my worries somewhere, and it's nice to have you lot understand them.

To be honest, we aren't going to full term. Dp and I know exactly what is happening, but we just aren't telling anyone. I don't really understand my own logic behind keeping it secret, all I know is that we just feel the need to keep it to ourselves. I haven't even told anyone else that there is a plan other than wait and see, so you lot have a bit of a heads-up here!

FM - my niggling worries currently include gestational diabetes, albeit very mildly. Only found out last week and seem to be managing it fine with diet, so won't need insulin as threatened. Plus the other problem is extremely excessive levels of amniotic fluid. Apparently the main worry with this is that baby isn't swallowing and peeing the fluid properly, but the scans have shown full stomach and bladder, so thatis good. However, I'm not too sure what else extra fluid can mean, other than a risk of premature labour cos my body won't tolerate me getting any bigger!!!! I'm nearly 37 weeks pg and am measuring 45 (by midwife, tape measure method)!

Anyway, I've managed a sneaky few minutes at work to type this message but must dash!
