That was a fun way to start the week.

All praise to NHS and our district nurses, hospital bed is coming tomorrow, fast track care funding being put in place and medications sorted for as and when DH needs them.

I'm just catching up with this now, Five. So sorry for your loss.

Knitwit99 · 11/08/2019 20:04

I am late to the thread five I'm so sorry.

Have you had the funeral? I guess probably. I hope you had as good a day as you could. I hope you and your children got to share many memories and maybe hear some new ones from other people.

Alarmclockstop · 11/08/2019 20:13

I am so very sorry, I know where you mean and hope that the funeral went well. Mosaic is a brilliant support network which is local to Dorset, sadly through experience I know how amazing they are.

londonmarathonhalfwaypoint · 12/08/2019 01:08

I’m so sorry and sending much love during these dark days Flowers

We held DH's funeral on Thursday. In a miserable week for weather the sun shone. It was an eclectic service as my two children held a part in choosing parts of it. My daughter chose a passage from Reaper Man by Terry Pratchett, DH's favourite author, and DS chose the Crumble Song from Britains got talent! In-laws behaved themselves mostly although FIL did grope my sisters backside Hmm

About 25 of us ended up on the beach with fizz and hotdogs, kids went paddle boarding and there were tears and laughter.

It was a beautiful day even though it was such a sad one.

I miss him so much

Fizz and hotdogs on the beach sounds much more fitting that tea and sandwiches in a church hall.

♥️

ChippingInLowCarbing · 17/08/2019 15:04

five I’ve only just seen this thread. I’m so very sorry💕. I’m glad the funeral went as well as these things can! Your FIL never misses an opportunity does he. FFS!

The kids did so well to do their tributes to him. Eclectic is a good thing!

Lots of love to you and the kids! Xx

Oh Five I've only just seen this. Im so so sorry 😥. We chatted under a different name as my mum had been (wrongly) diagnosed with the same cancer. It was lovely to chat to you at that time. Im so so sorry xxx

Hellenbach · 11/10/2019 00:32

I'm so saddened to read your news. Every time another one of us loses a special person to cancer my heart aches.
I remember your posts from many years back.
You may have even contributed to my woolly hugs blanket when my DH died.
Wishing you strength at this tough time x

Iggi999 · 11/10/2019 00:41

I am so very sorry to hear this. I should say I've had the pleasure of meeting the OP and she is a lovely, kind and funny woman. This is all so unfair.
I hope the strength you need to cope keeps coming to you Five and do keep posting - you have friends from all over who want to help.

Burpsandrustles · 11/10/2019 20:12

Five we stayed with you at least 3 times. Stunning b and b and location.
My dc played WiFi with yours and charged around. It was wondeful esp when that year the 3 nights we had with you was our entire years holiday. Perfect.

I have a really funny memory of your dh.... One of your dc was really embarrassing him and I was v impressed how he batted it off whilst trying to be professional and serve breakfast to about 8 guests.

Burpsandrustles · 11/10/2019 20:15

I think at one stage the dc had to be shut out of the room then when they burst back through said something like...

My dad's a loud farter.

His face whilst dishing out breakfast and the grin, through gritted teeth and eye roll was utterly hilarious the poor man.

So sorry for your loss. Your set up was incredibly idyllic so at least all those wondeful memories in that amazing spot. Much love and hugs.

Burpsandrustles · 11/10/2019 20:16
