My husband was killed in a car crash today.

We’d just moved house and he was so happy.

Do what you think he would've liked. If he liked metal, why not? You will be honouring his memory, not convention.

I have no idea how you'll get through this but you will. Your kids are old enough for you to fall apart a bit.

Oh yeah meant to say - don't feel like you have to hold it all together.

I know it's in no way similar but when my Nan died my mum didn't show any emotion and then I felt like I couldn't show emotion either and that I was wrong for feeling upset. I think it's healthy for us to see our parents grieve naturally - be that shouting screaming crying numbness, whatever you need to feel and show.

A good Funeral director will be able to guide you.
Watch out for ones with hidden costs they should give you a quote and most will come to your home so you can do it as a family.

There's a lot of practical things to do and decisions to make at the worst time so make lists, be prepared to use people for support and talk to each other.

I've lost close family members in road accidents:it's awful. OP for you.
