Bereavement

Sudden death of my DH

Seven days ago my lovely, funny, devoted DH had a stroke and died two days later. I'm up my eyes in funeral arrangements as one might expect, and today is a sort of respite as more is in train.

I had always secretly thought that I would be alone in this country one day that he would go before me, but not so soon. He was only 61.

Sad

So sorry for your loss. You must be in such shock. I know it is early days, but if you can, do go for bereavement counselling. Flowers

You're so right about the shock, Dumdedum: dry mouth, inability to frame a sentence, unfinished tasks.

Is your username for the Archers? DH grew up on the radio drama, though he found the Helen/Rob thing too painful and we haven't listened for weeks. I catch up on Lowfield and Radio Addicts.

echt I know you from the gardening thread, your Dh sounded like a lovely man. Flowers My father died aged 59 it's too young . Really really sorry for your loss, I'm also feeling a bit guilty for having a mild moan albeit light hearted about my Dh on another thread. I don't know what I'd do with out him...

Oh my goodness. Just about to go to bed here in NZ . But, just felt compelled to reply to your post.
I can't even imagine the shock. You poor woman.
61 is far, far too young to go away.

You have had friends and family cluster around you, thank goodness.
I hope that you have ongoing support, and as someone suggested, bereavement counselling.

I don't know you echt. But, I send my love to you. I hope that's ok xxxx

I'm so sorry. Words just aren't enough.
You will be in shock, please let friends and family help as much as possible.
My DP died last year at just 60, 6 weeks after being diagnosed with pancreatic cancer - I leaned on my DD and friends just to get through the days. You'll be numb for a while yet, it's just too much to take in at once.
Take care of yourself, and let others take care of you too.
My thoughts are with you
xx
