Bereavement

Our fantastic DD3 has lost her battle.

Our beautiful and brave DD3 lost her battle against a brain tumour on 2nd July. She was 6 years old. The end came very quickly, just 2 wks after we were told it had spread, though she had been ill for a few weeks, we were hoping it was just the chemo hitting her hard. So devastated, I am weeping all the time it seems, how can you help the other children cope when you can't do it yourself?
I am glad she died at home in our bed with me, my worst nightmare would have been a long slow decline in Birmingham Children's hospital, I am trying to comfort myself with this one thing. The grief seems unbearable otherwise.

So sorry to read this. Flora sounds like such a lovely little girl (my ds is ASD and those quirks make them even more special). I do not have any words that could make any of this bearable Sad

So sorry for your loss.

Maybe it's a bit raw just now but when you feel able maybe you could sit with your DDs and let them make scrapbooks of beautiful Flora? If you give them lots of copies of photos and really let them be individual about what they want to show and say it will help them focus on the good times you've had. And it will also be something they can look at when ever they feel they need to be close to her.

Also on a similar theme is letting them decorate a frame and pick out one special photo to keep somewhere close like their bedside cabinet.

Planting a tree or flowering plant may also give them a focus.

There is no right or wrong way of grieving. Just do what you need to do to get by these dark days whilst it is still so raw.

Take care. Huge hugs to you all.

I would second contacting CRUSE, especially if your other girls have difficulties dealing with their grief in the months to come.

What a horrible thing to happen to your family and how sad to lose your lovely girl :(
