Our fantastic DD3 has lost her battle.

Our beautiful and brave DD3 lost her battle against a brain tumour on 2nd July. She was 6 years old. The end came very quickly, just 2 wks after we were told it had spread, though she had been ill for a few weeks, we were hoping it was just the chemo hitting her hard. So devastated, I am weeping all the time it seems, how can you help the other children cope when you can't do it yourself?
I am glad she died at home in our bed with me, my worst nightmare would have been a long slow decline in Birmingham Children's hospital, I am trying to comfort myself with this one thing. The grief seems unbearable otherwise.

You are not alone, 3girlies. That's all I can say for now. ((()))

Tears stream at the thought of the pain you must be feeling. I cried lots yesterday at a funeral of a lady who had died from Motor Neurone Disease and felt such sadness for her parents having to go through their daughters funeral..

I hope it is comforting to you that you were able to spend those last moments with Flora your gorgeous baby girl.

I wish you lots of strength over the coming weeks, cherish those memories

I am so sorry for your loss - she sounds like a wonderful girl.

My nana was a red-headed flora, must be something special about them as she was wonderful too.

Sending you lots of love and strength x

So sorry, rest in peace little Flora. All red headed DDs are special, but quirky funny ones especially so.

This is so tragic and enormous. I am very very sorry for your loss.

Amongst this pain and numbness it is really precious that your beautiful Flora, you tender golden flower, spent her last hours with you.

Wishing you and your family a lot of strength. Thinking of you.

wine0 · 30/07/2012 12:34

I'm so sorry for your loss of your beautiful brave daughter.

My DS2 was still born 4 years ago in August and the physical pain I felt afterwards was at times unbearable. For months I felt numb and it was only DS1 that got me up each morning and got me through the first 5 months.

4 years on and I'm smiling again after a longtime of never thinking I would...everyday I think of my beautiful boy and what he would have been doing and there will always be a gaping hole in your heart that will never be filled but the tears will internalise in the coming months and you'll weap for her everyday but without the tears.

Gain strength from your girls, your friends and find your inner strength because you'll need all of those things to keep getting you through each day.

Much love to you

I'm so sorry for your terrible loss. She sounds so absolutely wonderful and beautiful. Dearly wish there were some words I could say that would be of some comfort to you, but all I can do is tell you I am thinking about you and yours and will light a candle and say a little prayer for strenght for you all. Geranium3 · 30/07/2012 15:43

so sad that you have lost your darling flora, love and hugs to you allxxxx

expatinscotland · 30/07/2012 23:48

3girlies, still thinking of you. Feel so robbed and cheated by cancer.

We only buried Aillidh on 14 July, so can't erect a stone yet on her burial site. Have just ordered a wee plaque for now. But when we do put a stone I want an orange ribbon etched, for the leukaemia that claimed her life.

All I can do for you is tell you that I understand, because I do.

So sorry for your loss.xxx

worryingwillow · 31/07/2012 05:16

3girlies - I'm still thinking of you and your gorgeous girl.

And you and your family expat.

This is all just so wrong and unfair but your girls have had such an impact on those around them and created so many happy memories to cherish when you're able to. Wishing you peace of some kind.
