Hope....for the bereaved parent; even at Christmas, one of the most painful times of the year, there is an essence of hope. Hope....it is hope that sustains us through the days of grief and anger and frustration and loneliness.

The hope that someday the pain of the deaths of our children will be eased. The hope that someday our smiles will be real.

So, it is that for each of you I would hope....peace, compassion, love, sympathy, understanding, sharing and listening. In the sharing of our grief with one another, and in the emotional support we give to one another, we receive and understand all of these gifts.

Remembering my precious sons....and all of your precious children at this difficult time of year.

Afternoon all, hope everyone is doing ok. I was let home from hospital yesterday after more iron and the last lot of steroids, they kept me in overnight for the first lot as they said it can raise your blood sugars having gestational diabetes and would have had to put me on a sliding scale (gluocse and insulin drip) if so but all was well so they thought the second lot would be ok too.

Mine did go up a little last night but nothing to worry about and soon came down again so I'm glad they let me come home. I've been poked and prodded so many times, failed cannulas etc which was awful as I'm needle phobic as it is. Baby still doing well though, had ctgs and lots of movements so the next step is back Monday for more ctgs and iron and take it from there.

Looks like she'll be here within 1-3 weeks though apparently! Scary stuff. 32 weeks today which is a bit more reassuring but still too early. I couldn't have stayed in another night unless it was for the baby though, it was all bringing everything back from when I delivered Scarlett and I was finding it really tough.

Have lots of catching up to do and have to get a move on with getting baby things sorted (trying to be positive) even though we know she'll be in scbu if delivered so early but it helps to have everything ready and try to get my head round it all.

Cheese you are doing well - keep it up. I know 32 weeks is early but I just have this feeling that everything is going to go well and be fine. Will be thinking about you xxx

Just poping in quickly, Internet is playing up

Cheese ds3 was born at 32 weeks 1 day, we had 4 days in nicu and then 6 days up on the ward until he could control his temp, he's now 10 months and you wouldn't know he was only 4lb 4 when he was born. It was pretty scary at the time though Xx

My 32 weeker is sitting in bed with dh, and has talked him into letting him watch videos even though he is supposed to be asleep!

Whatevertheweather · 21/01/2012 23:12

Some nights the longing to see them, hold them becomes so overwhelming doesn't it. God I want to know what she would have been like now. Nearly 5 months old.

MiaAlexandrasmummy · 21/01/2012 23:57

I know. Mia would be 16 months old now. Speaking, walking, getting into new sorts of mischief... Loving us every single day. Why, oh why??

chipmonkey · 22/01/2012 01:22

I had a dream last night that I was pushing Sylvie-Rose in a buggy. I had to go into school to see ds4 ( who hasn't actually started school yet) and I was wandering around the school. Then I heard Tony Blair's voice (?) from one of the classrooms and I went in. Tony Blair was sitting on a child's desk and ds4 was chatting away happily to him. Then Tony turned to me and said, "So this is your son?" and I answered "Yes, and this is my youngest" nodding towards Sylvie-Rose.
It was nice to dream about her and I wonder if she was visiting me but if she was, am not sure why she involved Blair!

chip how comforting yet bizarre. Then again, to have Mia visit me in my dreams, I'd probably settle for any politician to turn up!

I think I was somehow been influenced by this thread last night, as I dreamt that a friend lost her child, and I was so devastated for her, and just wanted to help take the pain away...

Whatevertheweather · 22/01/2012 20:05

Ah Everlong Oliver sounds like such a lovely lad.

Chip what a strange but nice dream that must of been. Hard to wake up from though I imagine. I don't dream of Erin. I wish I did.

Waves to all. Hope everyone is doing okay xx

chipmonkey · 22/01/2012 20:59

You know, I hadn't dreamt about her in so long, I so rarely doSad And then she brings Tony along with her! But it was lovely to dream about her.

Whatevertheweather · 22/01/2012 21:16

It's funny isn't it Chip we spend so must of our waking lives thinking of them you'd think our subconscious would bring them to us in our dreams. Maybe it's our brains way of giving us a break and then when it does happen it's extra special.
