Oh I am so sorry to hear this. Take comfort from the fact that the last sounds he heard would have been of his family, the people he loved most in the world and who loved him with equal measure right back. Much love to you and the children xxxx

LemonEmmaP · 13/04/2011 22:54

You can shed tears that he is gone
or you can smile because he has lived.

You can close your eyes and pray that he'll come back
or you can open your eyes and see all he's left.

Your heart can be empty because you can't see him
or you can be full of the love you shared.

Rinders, I am so sorry. What a testament of Richard's love for you all that he willed himself to have strength until the time that you were all around him, in his own home.

I hope you don't mind me donating a small amount of money in his name to someone who is running in the London Marathon for a childrens cancer charity, and he has kindly let us donate to his fund already in memory of Edgars little boy, who recently died.

The runner in question is the OH of a regular MN, who would like to preserve her privacy, but if anyone would like to donate, the link is here

He hung on in there to come home to his family. It mattered, and he died a beloved man.

I send you my heartfelt sympathies and I wish you strength to face the days ahead; dignity, love and courage you have in abundance x x x
