wondering how long people have waited this year to hear back from dla? We got our letter saying they received the forms on 15/03. Every time I ring I get told a different waiting time...

I called today to see if addition evidence I sent off had been scanned through and she told me it has and my daughter’s claim is now with a decision maker. Forms were scanned 7th march 24, god knows how long the wait will be now! Good luck x

It's 17-20 weeks at the moment for new claims, apparently, so you'd be looking at July/August.

Emptyabc · 05/06/2024 11:37

Mine was scanned 26/1/24 I called yesterday and was told it’s being looked at and has a flag they are needing some more I got on something so hopefully within the next 10 days

Soymilk · 05/06/2024 19:56

I'm on a group on Facebook - recently joined. Yours should be done any day now or within the next week I'm presume. all I keep seeing now is February dates being sorted :)

anxiousR27 · 05/06/2024 20:20

Nothing as yet, sure it won’t be much longer.. just that anxious wait to see if he has been awarded, I’m sure he will be but everything seems to have been a fight the last 3 years!

Emptyabc · 07/06/2024 12:04

Will do, hopefully not too long now…

I feel the same, i need to apply for his high school transport next and again its asked for a million copies of evidence and I really cba 😪 I'm also on waiting to hear back about my 3 year old who has potential ASD... my mind is ready for a break xx

Soymilk · 07/06/2024 21:36

@Emptyabc it took 8 years to finally get the diagnosis, the schools made it impossible at first and when they finally agreed it goes to show we wasn't making it up! And now I've learnt how to use Mt voice for my youngest, he's having speach therepy and the services have been amazing with us so that's been helpful xx

Emptyabc · 07/06/2024 21:46

It’s really difficult especially when schools aren’t supportive isn’t it.. my 10 yr old is on the ASD pathway now and has suffered extreme anxiety for the the 3 yr 😔
for the first 2 years the school told me he was absolutely fine there but I was mortified when I got a copy of the screening questionnaire they filled in .. it screams ASD and the opposite of what they had been telling me for the last 2 yr, honestly there where points where I questioned if there was something wrong with me for being so concerned because they just said he was fine!
desperately hoping he is awarded soon as I’ve been sleeping on the floor next to his bed for the last 2 years due to his levels of anxiety so really need to make some changes to his room he shares with his little brother to make it workable for us all, single mum of 4 that can not afford to make the changes without it

Soymilk · 09/06/2024 07:22

@Emptyabc aww my son has just turned 11 and he sounds so similar to your son. While it might only be classed as mid autism for my son the levels of anxiety he feels are well above what I would of expected and at times he's definitely been depressed. The school picked up on the low mood but the autism was only because I pushed them to suport the assessment. I totally understand the bedroom situation my friend had said, the same for her son as he wakes her up many times a night. Hang in tight xxx

Emptyabc · 09/06/2024 10:47

It’s so hard isn’t it 😞
do you mind me asking if you have a separate diagnosis of anxiety or if it’s just being put down to ASD?
with my lad it’s so extreme, different therapists have said to push for a separate diagnosis of health anxiety and generalised anxiety disorder but CAMHS workers seem to take the side of it’s just part of Autism?
we are currently on a waiting list for a minimum of 6 month intervention with a child psychologist.

Soymilk · 09/06/2024 21:33

I don't mind.. the only diagnosis we have is asd, tourettes and they added ocd tendencys to a neurologist report vut thats not official i don't think althoughit should be . We had help from cahms too but I think again it was put down as part of autism. If they are will to help you get the diagnosis that's great 🥰 definitely push for it. It seems strange we have to push to receive somthing that helps their mental health i think it depends on area you live in too xx

It is a very long process. Hopefully not long for you now as they seem to be getting through the February dates I've also seen a few for beginning of March now Smile
