wondering how long people have waited this year to hear back from dla? We got our letter saying they received the forms on 15/03. Every time I ring I get told a different waiting time...

Also congratulations 🤗

Kazza1980 · 17/08/2024 07:41

Had a school report of his meltdowns /behaviour in school and a confirmed letter of adhd and letters with consultamt confirming lack of sleep, and meltdowns and letters confirming he now on medication for both x and a referral from nursery about his behaviour/ meltdowns in nursery
My son is now 14

And we been riding this roller coaster with doctors and pediatrics for along time he was only diagnosed at 9 from the Referral at the age of 3 x I was told by school to claim x
I wish you good luck sweet x hope u get what you need for our child as I have x I can now afford tutors to help him get through high school hopefully x

Sarahandlenny · 17/08/2024 14:10

Hi I rang up on the 14th to be told my son had been awarded till he was 16 and that it was with accounts, then today I have received a letter dated the 12th saying he doesn't qualify, I'm so confused

3BoyswhichIlove · 17/08/2024 17:35

@Kazza1980 I rang yesterday they said they will ring me Wednesday if I've heard nothing I said they don't work weekends so am hardly going to hear anything by Monday which will be 20wks, I bet they don't ring Wednesday lol, I'm not expecting him to be rewarded due to me really struggling to put into words his extra needs etc and only having the school fill out their part.

@Sarahandlenny oh wow that is shocking hopefully they've made a mistake as surely its on the system your son has been awarded, hence why you got told he had xx

lavpaige · 28/08/2024 13:43

Hi

anyone heard back yet that sent their claim in June?
currenty on exactly 10 weeks today, had 2 letters to say the wait is up to 15 weeks, but I’ve seen on the fb group some have been awarded from July 😳
not sure how much more I can take waiting 🤣

Mumofannie · 28/08/2024 18:30

I applied in February and got my decision end of July, 22 weeks

Boymammy1234 · 28/08/2024 21:15

Hi there ,
Ive been following this thread and recently joined up so I could post .
i have applied for DLA for my son .
hes 10 years old .
i have been asking his school for help since he was in year 1 . But they didn’t feel it nessesary .
up until his last academic year .
he was on the verge of permenant exclusion .
hes smashed glass windows at school .
runs around for hours with Enzo staff etc chasing him .
at home he has been like this for years anyway they have put him into a provision school .
cahms have raised him to tier 3 and we see them once a month .
he now has melatonin at night time which has really helped with his sleep .
Cahms have said they believe he has ASD & ADHD but we could be waiting two years for a diagnosis .
he also hears and sees things which Cahms for some reason say they won’t look into until he is 16 ?
I applied for DLA and sent my forms back on time they’ve told me my scan date is may 2nd even though I know they was sent back by the deadline of April 23rd .
i haven’t heard anything .
I didn’t have much evidence to send but supplied his Cahms consultant / Cahms specialist / both school teachers and GP details .
just wondering if anyone could advise me .
thank you xx

Boymammy1234 · 28/08/2024 21:17

Kazza1980 · 28/08/2024 21:48

Hi, I've been following this thread for a while now was a bit worried about posting myself, finally braving it 😂.
Scan date 10/05.
I sent off forms with little evidence just a referral letter for BOSS. Ive now sent off some more, a copy of physio appointment letter, a copy of physio plan and proof of ongoing physio, some of his school record regarding all detentions, exclusions and cpoms messages about his behaviour in school. I requested a copy of sen plan months ago but still haven't received anything, so would that be enough evidence? He's my only child so I'm new to all this.
Thanks in advance for any replies and advice.

I didn't have any evidence at all... just wrote down certain referrals. Nursery contact details and what my son is like on a day to day basis. He was awarded mrc last month. Hope that helps Smile

Thank you,
I was a bit worried about it as I have seen so many people saying they sent loads of evidence.

Can i ask what you scan date was please?

anxiousR27 · 03/09/2024 14:10

@Niknakmummyof1 my scan date was 15th of March, waited exactly 20 weeks but they had a problem with getting his ni number so had to wait a few weeks for the decision to actually be finalised on paper and processed

anxiousR27 · 03/09/2024 14:11

@Niknakmummyof1 I was also the same I saw so many send so much evidence in pages and pages worth I thought we had absolutely no chance due to that but he was awarded thankfully x

From what I know from others you can get declined at 20 weeks. They just don’t get looked at until it’s your time as far as I’m aware.

Hi
My claim was denied on week 18, rang up to be told that a decision was made but they couldn't tell me what the decision was. Received a letter : days letter, MR submitted on 19th August with a 25 week wait 😣

MrsW12 · 08/09/2024 14:22

Can I ask if you sent any evidence and how old your child is etc? I’m coming up to week 12 now, so have a while to wait yet.
