wondering how long people have waited this year to hear back from dla? We got our letter saying they received the forms on 15/03. Every time I ring I get told a different waiting time...

Hi
My claim was denied on week 18, rang up to be told that a decision was made but they couldn't tell me what the decision was. Received a letter : days letter, MR submitted on 19th August with a 25 week wait 😣

Iv been 9 months in total from new claim to mr in may still waiting 😂 not gonna bother phoning last time I called it not 25 weeks anymore it’s 30 🤦‍♀️ unless anyone here got any luck with mr for may ??

Haze87 · 23/09/2024 03:12

@Lyns91 Hi my daughter is 13 and sounds in a similar situation to your daughter.
have you had any update with yours?
my scan date wasn’t until 9/7 so by the looks of things I’ve got a long wait.

25 week wait for a MR 😳😬

Still yet to hear, week 13 as from tomorrow, never been so stressful, waiting to hear back.

Do you know the address I can send more evidence, I put in for a mandatory reconsideration about 4 week ago . I have extra evidence I can send .
Is it the free post dwp ? Also may I ask what evidence have you sent . Thank you .

Smileymiley12 · 04/10/2024 11:18

Hi all, my scan date was 21st May. I got an acknowledgement letter at the start saying it could be 15 weeks but I've heard absolutely nothing since. It's now nearly 20 weeks and this morning I've had a large payment into my bank account from DWP DLA! No other communication as yet. I hope this gives some of you hope as I was beginning to think I'd never hear.

Hello, my scan date was sometime early May, I've never received any acknowledgement so unsure the exact date. I called 12th Aug to query waiting times but was told nothing other than there's a large backlog and the guy wouldn't comment any further on dates at all. I've been receiving DLA care element for around 2 years and have now applied for mobility so hopefully hear anything back soon. Your comments have given me hope so ty. X

Jhtm · 17/10/2024 12:53

Hi I’ve done a change of circumstance form as my daughter has now had her full diagnosis and ehcp now, so was wanting to fight for the mobility element for her, and was just wondering if she is awarded it will she get back pay or do you not get that because she is already receiving DLA for her care needs? Thanks

Ljbeats · 18/10/2024 04:38

Hello, I would think if she got it then it would be from the change of circ date. That's what I'm hoping for mine anyway.

Isntitmenttobeeasier · 25/10/2024 18:54

Has anyone had any more updates? On week 18 so far but didn't send off evidence from school or his diagnosis dreading having to fight yet another thing for my child!

Ljbeats · 25/10/2024 22:02

Nope, not a thing.

Emma94xx · 28/10/2024 10:41

My scan date was 11th September then today I receive another renewal form! Never felt so stressed called dla to be told they received my forms back and it's an automatic thing for renewal to be sent out doesn't seem right when I'd already filled renewals September they said its currently 20week wait at min and to call back 29th January if I hear nothing

MammaLBlue · 08/11/2024 10:46

Hi everyone! I did a change of circumstances for my daughter who recieves middle rate dla, I’m trying to fight for high rate as her sleep is horrendous I’m up for 4 hours at a time every single night, even when she sleeps at 10 she will stay wake up after a few hours for hours on end, non verbal autistic and needs supervision during the night as she hurts herself meltdowns ect, I red that night time needs says she should be entitled to high rate, anyways I rang up today scan date was 26th June, that said my form has been seen but no decision has been made yet and to ring back Monday, do you think it’s worth ringing again this afternoon surley if it’s been seen they should have a decision?

CL2208 · 18/11/2024 22:43

Hello. I filled in a new claim for child dla, but got my partner set to sign and put his bank details as he incurs a lot of the extra costs involved. My partner does find it tricky to communicate himself and also has dyslexia himself, but I’m thinking I should have sent a cover letter explaining all of this. TBH I was so focused on photocopying and including all the evidence that I didn’t think of adding a cover letter. Now I’m worried that I can’t be added as a parent on the claim, or that the DWP won’t talk to me or update me on the claim if I called them. There wasn’t a section that said if someone else filled the form in.
Any advise please welcome.

Carrie263 · 21/11/2024 11:51

Hi everyone. DLA received letter on 8th July. Called today for update (19.5 weeks) and was told that it was with the DM. Anyone know how long it takes once it’s with the DM? Thank you

Starline2424 · 29/11/2024 17:27

My sons Feb 19. Refused may 18th. Mandatory reconsideration 10th June. It's now November and I have been told again and again with decision make.
Iv had enough I know it's going to be a no again. It's getting me very down. At school he's masking so I didn't have much evidence. At home he's destructive and verbally abusive. School did say adhd. I get no support .

Kazza1980 · 30/11/2024 09:11

Aww bless its hard when they mask it my son did this until he went to high school primary said he was a bit fidgety the doctors overruled did the computer test and with evidence for myself n doctor was diagnosed eventually with adhd at the age of 9yrs ( was referred initially by nursery at the age of 3 would u believe ( you can also go to the GP to get ur child referred if u think he has adhd ) fast forward to the present and he's now in Year nine aged 14 and it now definitely shows in school as each week i am called out of work in to attend a school meeting or asked to collect him because hes in complete meltdown mode. The high school are now also referring him for autism assessment x it's been a fight every step of the way x but we now get dla x good luck keep strong x and good luck xx

MammaLBlue · 05/12/2024 09:23

Hi everyone I’m so confused I did a COC and got my decision a week and half ago they said they are keeping me at middle rate but I’ve just received £750 in my bank from them? As this happened to anyone else? Because I shouldn’t of got any back dated money when they didn’t change my rate

Lyng82 · 18/12/2024 22:38

I’ve put a claim in on 17th July 24 but at the time we thought it was depression and anxiety now Camms and school are now thinking it’s adhd she had her test but waiting for results but I’ve just keep getting letters saying they still not made a decision they have me the last date 23/12/24 if I phone them do u think they will no by now

Lyng82 · 18/12/2024 22:40

I ad the same problem with my daughter thinking she ad depression u shud keep ringing ur doctor and they shud refer u to Camms that’s what I did x
