wondering how long people have waited this year to hear back from dla? We got our letter saying they received the forms on 15/03. Every time I ring I get told a different waiting time...

SD 9/4
Been told end of August for a decision now...

Kijochu · 24/07/2024 09:28

I'm wondering if anybody could help me (I'm new to this ). My sons claim was scanned on the system 4th April.

I received one letter around the 22nd may ,the letter states they are still looking at my claim. Which could take up too another 15 weeks for a decision.

I called up and spoke to a rather rude person ,he said it's not been 20 weeks from when I have put my claim in, and to call back on the 20 week .

Will i be waiting much longer ?

Cara1994 · 24/07/2024 11:28

Hi my scan date is 5/04 and they told me end of August it’s just a waiting game really

Kijochu · 25/07/2024 07:26

@anxiousR27 I have tried to put it to the back of my mind , but it's hard work . Everything is a waiting game even the referal for my son's screening.

Shouldn't be long now I assume , if you here anything keep me updated please .

I couldn't send much evidence, due to waiting for his referal ( which i hesrd could take months and 5 months i still havent had any referal ) .I sent was a letter from school regarding there concerns ,which was was letter for the doctor .

Thank you again

My scan date is 14/3, my application has been with a decision maker for 2 weeks. I called today and was told still no decision made but they have to have made one by next Thursday 1st August, then they will write to me and that may take another 2 weeks taking it to 23 weeks in all. 😴

Emmagbgbgbgb · 25/07/2024 18:04

Scan date 25/03 had phone call not long ago from decision maker asked me two questions one was I had not ticked a box and other was how much help my son has at school. He said he will make decision by tomorrow…. I hate this waiting anyone else had phone call to ask more questions?

No phone call, no texts to say my claim was received. First bit of communication I got was 21st June 13 weeks after they received my claim to say they was still looking at it. Such a long wait with the possibility of being denied is horrible

@Emmagbgbgbgb Great news !! I hope mine isn't much longer . When was your scan date .

SandiePants · 01/08/2024 11:06

My scan date was 3/4 and we hadn’t heard anything by the 15th week so called up. The lady on the phone said it’s now 20 weeks wait and to wait until 20th Aug, if I haven’t heard anything by then to call up again. This morning when checking my bank we have a payment going in tomorrow from DWP DLA with my son’s national insurance number. So all in all it’s been just over 17 weeks for the decision to be made. Now for the UC….. but it’s great for our DS that we have been awarded DLA for him.
Hope you all hear soon 🫶🏼

Kazza1980 · 04/08/2024 11:19

Hey so our scan date is 11th april 2024 and I see the February scan dates where being sorted in July
Is anybodys scan dates for March/ April come through yet ? To be fare I'm going to assume it'll be at least 20 weeks wait x
I will be week 17 on Thursday 8th Aug x

MrsW12 · 05/08/2024 11:47

Hi all. My little one with be 4 in a couple of weeks but she clearly has something going on. The nursery have picked up on it and so did the speech and language therapist. Is this too young to be approved for DLA. Our autism referral just got rejected, but I’m thinking it’s actually ADHD.

anxiousR27 · 05/08/2024 18:45

20 weeks exactly it's taken. Finally have been given a decision when rang today. My boys been awarded middle rate till 2026. Not entitled to mobility yet he's not 3 till the 16th. What a long ride that was.
Good luck to the rest or you waiting :)

Hi, I’ve recently applied for my daughter’s DLA. I’m just wondering what evidence everybody sent in as wondering if I’ve sent enough and I should get more. Thank you

I didn't send any evidence at all.. just wrote down certain referrals and nursery's contact details and my son was awarded middle rate care last week :) I think it's how you fill the forms out too as I had my sister and my mum to help or I would have been clueless x

Hi any help would be much appreciated DLA have had paperwork since 4th April got told today its still with decision maker on Monday 20th August it will be 20wks.

I haven't sent much evidence for my 5yr old other than all his quirks the fact my teenager has ADHD, among some other things, school filled in part of the DLA form and he is awaiting to be assessed.

I fear as he's 5 and other than school there is no evidence, i really struggled explaining his care needs, i also am wondering how much longer it will take to hear anything considering I can't see them making a decision now by Monday.
