Dla wait times 2024 - experience

wondering how long people have waited this year to hear back from dla? We got our letter saying they received the forms on 15/03. Every time I ring I get told a different waiting time...

My SD is 02/04/24
ill only be on week 11 on Tuesday 18/06/24
so have a long wait left to go. Its soo stressfull how long you have to wait , ive heard its taking upto 20weeks for a decision to be made.

I think I'm on week 13 now. I think there saying 20 weeks to cover themselves... I've only seen a few actually take 20 weeks. Most I've seen have taken between 14-17 roughly. A few years ago people was only waiting 8ish weeks. The letter I got told me 6 weeks :( hopefully the waiting will be worth it for us all! X

Ohhh not long left for you then hopefully 🤞🏻 yeah thats probably true. i haven't phoned DLA up to ask on wait times its just what ive seen people post online. I wish the waiting time wasnt soo long its honestly soo stressfull.
15weeks for me will be 16/07 but with it possibly taking up to 20weeks. Im thinking i may get a decision anywhere between 16/07 and 20/08 .

I’m 20 weeks today, someone called to let me know that they had been waiting on info from schools senco and should be done within a week x

from some posts ive seen it can take up to 20weeks for a decision to be made . And ive seen posts that claims from end of feb to early march have been awarded this past week

Hi all has anyone ever been awarded for child having severe mental health issues? My daughter is 12 self harming social anxiety depression and also is having hallucinations seeing and hearing things there is schizophrenia in the family, CAMHS have said shes showing traits of ASD ive just recently applied and anxiety is through roof worrying they wont accept her any help be much appreciated 😊

Absolutely. My neice was on dla and just moved over to pip, in the new claim it was all mental health as she is exactly what you have explained with your daughter. Pip rang the school and cahms and she was awarded, pip is also harder to get with there points system then dla so I feel you have a very good chance of her being accepted with the fact she is seeing professionals for it aswell. I have just received a message saying they are still looking at my claim and no need to contact them . Has anyone else received this please x

I honestly have no clue on that one. I don't think they always contact the school but I think they do if they need more info x

I have had nothing at all apart from 1 letter saying they have received forms. It seems to be different for everyone... I've seen some get a few letters some get letters and texts and some get nothing just a random payment

Yes I received a text at 2:59 today lol seems a lot of other people got it too at the same time as I’ve seen a post on Facebook. My scan date is the 7th march so approaching 15 weeks

But rang this morning for address for extra evidence and they said its with decision maker currently
How long usually does it take from there?
Do I send the evidence anyway?

Hello I’m new here I rang up dla middle of may to asked for a form to be sent out for my child I sent the forms and put a ehcp inside the with the form on the 27th may 2024 and then posted it and received a letter back yesterday ( 20th June saying they received my form on the 6-06-24 but the letter they sent out was dated 14th June and got it yesterday on the 20th June I’ve never done this before but il upload a picture of the letter it says up to 15 week on the letter I’m just interested to know if anyone has had a letter similar and got accepted for dla for there child with a ehcp and what rate they got thanks

@Claireb90 It’s just a standard letter they send out i had the same back in May.
currently on week 21 now and still waiting when I’ve called they said it should be anytime now

i rang up for the form on the 29th April 24 I sent the forms back with my sons ehcp in and they received the form back on the 6-06-24 I recieved a letter dated from the 14-06-24 saying they had received the form which I got one the 20-06-24 and they are looking at all the information I have given it can take up to 15 week I don’t need to contact them.this is all new to me do all the letters look like this what people get thanks

Mine reached 4th of April phoned Friday got told on system they have received everythink needed and its in the queue for the decision maker anyone else had this wounding how long could it been 😊

My scan date is the 9th of march .. I rang up and they said I should have an answer by the 27th of July. So not its a waiting game ..

Hey, my SD was 3/4/24 and I’ve heard nothing as yet. Looks like it will be another 4 weeks by the sounds of things on here. 🤞🏼 for everyone
