Getting annoyed when I tell people my babys name

Had the new arrival for almost a week now, and everyone happily asks what her name is, then seems to recoil. I am presuming they all think its pretentious (and that I must be a silly little girl who gave my little girl a made up name-even though it is a real name, they just haven't heard it before) and I have to explain where the name came from (this is more difficult to do to passers by). Why do people have to be so judgemental?

I think it might be because people are not familiar with the names, and that the names might run into each other when you say them.
When I was little, I couldn't understand why a girl was called Amery - it turned out she was Ann-Marie.

I'd hear Teresa-Dehia as Terressadeheea.

I love both names together and learning about the meanings and cultural connection. Thank you.
Teresa-Dehia is actually very easy to say and spell once you do it several times.
It will be interesting what her young friends will call her. I bet the kindy kids master the name quickly.

Constantine, Batholomew and Alexandrina also have eleven letters and people still love the long names.

omg, is it that long ago I last broke my arm?!!

I wonder if she's still known as Wee-T. Which I think is cute as buttons, actually.
